The mini doesn't list its ingredients - It just says it's "talc-free" and "dermatologist-tested". Try looking at the packaging in the store and see what it says. If it doesn't say anything on the outside, there may be an insert in the package listing the ingredients.

No - it doesn't come with an applicator, but it's a nice small size for your purse, and has a "shaker top" - inside lid has holes in it, so you could actually just rub a clean finger over that, and touch up when you are out for the day/evening.

The travel size does not. A powder brush is an essential tool for any loose powder, including this one; you can use a mini-kabuki brush for travel (Too Faced makes a great, cruelty-free "flatbuki" brush for this purpose.)

I break out in the summer and have not noticed a change in the frequency of breakouts. This powder is especially nice for acne because it does not have color, so it doesn't 'stick' to acne that is healing. It also doesn't add color to your concealer. I would give it a try (comes in a mini size).

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, so I'll answer a variety of questions yours may cover. This powder won't cause you to break out or clog your pores, provided that you wash your face regularly (as you would with any other makeup at the end of the day.) It mattifies oily skin extremely well and makes the red tone of blemishes less noticeable. Use the product sparingly--you only need a little bit and the less of any product on your face, the better for acne--and you'll be fine. I highly recommend this powder for combination and oily skin.

What I do is I shake it a little with the top still on it then I leave it in the box with the top on, upside-down in my makeup bag. I agree this little white powder can make such a mess and you do not want to waste it, but that has seemed to be the most helpful for me.

I tap the powder into an empty box (currently an empty container of cotton swabs, but I've also used Altoid tins and an old Stila compact), swirl the brush, tap out the excess, and dust away. Using a box with a dark bottom also allows you to see how much product you're dispensing. Just be careful to turn off any fans and stay away from air conditioning vents when you dispense into the empty box!

I bought this for that very reason, hoping it would minimize my pores but it really didn't do anything. I bought it after several sales people went on and on about how it makes your skin look so smooth and pore free but even after they put it on in the store I couldn't tell a difference. I bought it anyway and tried it several different ways but it just disappeared on my skin. I know sephora doesn't carry MAC but I just can't find anything better than their studio fix pressed powder. I have lupus so I do not have good skin but I actually have compliments on my skin all the time just because the MAC covers so well but it still allows my skin to breath. I also like Tarte pressed powders if you want something more natural. Good luck

Well I guess it depends on what your looking for when you say "pores smaller"... some people are looking for a miracle product to make their pores invisible; that might not exist. But this product will definitely help with minimizing your pores if used properly over a good medium- full coverage foundation ( for daily use i recommend medium coverage). Translucent finishing powders for oil prone skin are great for pores because the "wetness" a foundation brings to the skin towards the end of the day will bring out those pores and draw attention, a translucent powder absorbs that and gives a matte look which will bring a noticeable difference in pore size.
P.s. exfoliating once a week will also help your makeup sit properly on your face and help cut out the dead cells sitting on your pores. ;)

I definitely understand the importance of setting your foundation! There's nothing worse than being half way through your day and having it everywhere EXCEPT your face! I would definitely say choose one or the other though. I don't know a whole lot about the Mineral Veil from BE, but I swear by the MUFE HD powder. If you use too much powder on your face, you'll over-dry it. Choose one or the other, but give the MUFE HD Powder a chance... you won't be disappointed.

I can't go back to mineral or talc powders after using this; use a kabuki brush for a colorless matte finish that will let the color of your makeup show through. It sets makeup all day and even with oily skin on a hot summer day you won't need a touch up for at least 8 hours. It won't look like you are wearing anything it is so sheer! A little goes a very, very long way so apply sparingly.

comparable product?
hi, sorry to ask but is there a comparable product that anyone knows of? A lady at a booth in the mall sold me a silica powder, for $5, so I thought I would try it. The container is well made, but there is no brand. So I was wondering what is the difference. I have used mineral veil in the past and Dior's loose powder, but thought I might try this... they dont carry this label in the store closest to me though.

I would say that the most comparable product would be the Bare Essentials mineral viel, although the Make Up For Ever brand's translucent powder is milled much finer in my opinion (which makes it lay better on the skin). The last powder I used was Estee Lauder Lucidity Transparent powder and I felt like it made me look like I was wearing powder, definitely not worth the high price tag. I found the To Go size of Make Up For Ever's translucent powder in the bins right before the check out at my local Sephora...

Hope that helps ;)

A compare-able product I've found is M.A.C.'s brand translucent setter. I'm not completely sure the product name. I don't like it as much because i find it doesn't have that silica feel quite like M.F.E. so it doesn't really hold to your face as well. But its the only other product I would recommend and the prices are also very similar.

I've never used the Dior powder before but I used to use the mineral veil and I can say that even though the veil was great, it gave me a greyish tint to my skin. There is no colour to this powder and it lasts longer on my face.

I'm not sure what is comparable, but I would say that the $30 for this product is well worth it. It is my best face product that I own. I've had it for a year now and have 50% left in the bottle.

This is 100% silica; so if the product you purchased has the same amount of silica, it's the same quality. There is a good chance the one you bought has talc and a little silica; HD offers tinted versions with talc for about $10 less if you prefer it. This is well worth the price, though.

I just use a big fluffy powder brush. I don't know exactly what it's called, it came with a brush set, but it's the biggest size (that would come with a set) and it's tapered and fairly fluffy. I think any regular "powder" brush would do

Dump a little out, into the lid and swirl a big, fluffy brush in it and re-swirl as necessary until the job is done. ;)

Shake a tiny amount into the lid or the palm of your hand and swirl a kabuki brush into it, then buff onto your skin

I use a Kabuki brush and it works perfectly. Any large powder brush will do.

i think the most common way to apply the powder is with a kabuki brush, a soft, round, dense face brush. make up for ever actually makes an hd kabuki brush, i'm pretty sure. just swirl the brush into the cap, tap off the excess, and buff it gently onto your face. weirdly, i actually prefer using a duo-fiber brush (stippling brush) for this product because i feel that i get a light application, so i dont use too much or too little product. I really don't need a ton of powder since i only wear tinted moisturizer and concealer, but it depends on what you want. if you want a good amount of powder for setting foundation, use a dense brush like a kabuki. if you want a light application, use a brush that is not as dense, like a duo-fiber stippling brush or even a blush brush if you cant get your hands on the stippling brush. to get the most natural finish with whatever brush you use, buff the powder into your face using gentle swirling motions.

I've been using a kabuki brush because I only have to load the brush once to do my whole face, but I think any loose powder brush would work just fine.

Use a powder brush. Tap out excess powder before you apply it to your face. This product is great if you're mattifying oily areas, or if you want to highlight your face in pictures, but if you really want to perfect your skin and look radiant, try a powder that has some tint to it.

I use a Stippling Brush to apply this. It helps with the light application. If you're not that handy with a Stippling I've use a Kabooki as well. You have to be sure you don't get too much on the brush or it could make you look a little chalky. If that happens though..no big deal a little more blending and you should be fine.

I would suggest using a large kabuki brush. If you don't wear foundation you don't really need it to set your makeup or anything so I suggest the large brush so that you just get a nice dusting of it all over your face.
