I feel that the answer depends upon your level of dryness. I have combination skin but have dryness and crepiness in the eye area. In the Spring/Summer, I use this alone during the day under makeup, and in Fall/Winter I use moisturizer on top. I use both at night year round! I don't find this particularly "moisturizing" but it does provide a smooth surface under eye makeup...somewhat like a primer actually.

I use it as a moisturizer alone. It is tremendously moisturizing. I think adding another would be overdoing it.

It can be used alone, but I like to use Estee Lauder's night repair eye on top in the evening. I have super dry skin and I like the added moisture.

That never happened to me either, it's actually one of the few eye creams that I can put all over my eye lid and get no irritation. You must have an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients.

That has never happened to me before. I personally wouldn't risk it.. the terms "burning" and "delicate skin around eye area" should not go together.

I would suggest you stop using the product. I have very sensitive eyes, and I haven't experienced any burning. I think you are having a bad reaction to the product.

Definitely not normal! This product hasn't irritated my eyes/skin in any way and I've noticed results. Are you applying it correctly? Eye creams only need to be applied to the orbital bone since the skin in the eye area is so thin so that it absorbs throughout. If you're not getting the product IN your eyes, there's no reason why there should be any irritation and you should discontinue use.

I have very sensitive, acne prone skin. I've used it for several months now and not gotten any pimples in my undereye or cheek bone area.

Sounds like you may be allergic or sensitive to an ingredient in it. I also had some mild burning the first day I applied the product, but it went completely away the second day. Excessive dryness and itching does not sound normal for this product.

I think it is hard to find oil-free products for the eye alone... this is not a place where most women are oily. Also you use so very little of the concentrate each time...

It can be used alone. It works well on its own. I'm not sure if you could use another cream on top of this one, as it could be too much and could cause milia (the tiny white bumps) if the pores are clogged from too much product

I use a very very small amount of this product when i apply and have never had issues with flakiness or dryness. I think using too much may make the consistency too thick which is causing your flakiness.

I have not found this to be the case; it does not gravitate into the eyes and it blends under your makeup easily. I have sensitive skin and I have not had any irritations with this product.

It sounds to me like you are having an allergic reaction to one of the products. Maybe try one by itself, and if no dryness and itching, then try the other by itself - to figure out which one to discontinue use. Or it could be both products are reacting together, but the itching and dryness is not normal. Good luck

You might be using too much! and you also might be having an allergic reaction to Renergie (i personally doubt that it could be from Genifique, since I have very sensitive skin that has reacted badly with some of Lancome's products, but not with Genifique). This eye concentrate should be used on its own, there should be absolutely no itchiness or flaking. Stop using and wait for the flaking and itchiness to go away, then try using Genifique only. It may or may not work for you, but if you continue experiencing the same reaction, stop using it completely. This is not the effect you want from your eye cream.

How strange, have you tried using it alone? Maybe the combination of ingredients is causing a reaction?
It definitively is not supposed to irritate or flake your skin. I have been using it for over a year and never felt any of these symptoms.
If it is causing a reaction, don't throw it away. Try using it in another part of your face like your lips or your face.

Hello! I was informed that it's best to start using anti-aging when a woman enters her 20's. With pollution, sun damage, and stress over the years, it's important to take great care of your skin early on in your life. I started using cream under my eyes when I was around 18. Part of that was for beauty purposes and part of that was because of all the sleepless, stressful nights studying my first year of college! :) I would absolutely say that it's not too early.

I think this product is hydrating enough that you'd like it. I haven't found it to be harsh or irritating on my skin. Better to start preventing line now, then trying to correct them once they are already there.

Personally I would not spend the money on this product in my 20's. There are so many preventative eye creams out there that would work for less investment, especially when you do not really need it yet!

Yes, it has a nice velvety texture. Moisturizing very well. Helps to get rid of puffiness and dark circles. Not burning (I've got very sensitive skin) like most anti-wrinkles creams.

It's never too early for good skin care--I don't think you'll find it too heavy at all:)

My personal opinion is that every woman regardless of age, skin-type, etc. can benefit from this product. It not only addresses lines and wrinkles, but dark circles, texture, etc. Whatever your particular eye concerns are (dryness, sagging, dark circles and shadows) this should be your starting point. I love the Renergie Lift Volumetry Eye for firming and moisturizing, but I've experienced SUCH a difference since incorporating this in with it. It's great stuff. So worth it!

I just turned 27 and have been using it for dark circles. I love it ! It has a very light texture and feels good on my skin. I've seen other reviews from young girls using it (even as young as 21), so I really don't see a problem with that.

the head of education at Lancome said it could be used for this purpose. Prevention is worth a pound of cure as my mother used to say.

I am 22 years old and turning 23. I have dark circles and puffiness which are both hereditary and due to lack of sleep. I've asked for a sample because I needed to know it was good before spending $$$ on it. I used it for about a week and noticed that my eyes were a little bit brighter and less puffy. It made my eye area smoother because my skin tends to be dry and allowed my concealer application to go on smoother. To answer your question I purchased the full size bottle because I did see some good results. I don't expect a miracle but this is the only eye cream that I've used that made a difference.

I use this morning and night - it's incredible. It absorbs easily in the morning so I can put on my makeup afterwards, and soaks in nicely at night while I sleep. Not greasy or oily - very soft and velvety.
