it's actually VERY similar. violet has slight pink shimmer, purple pumps has more.

they are pretty different. purple pumps is a very pink/reddish purple. violet is more of a blue, pure purple. to me, starry night also looks like kind of a deep purple even though the description says navy.

The violet in this kit is not the same as the purple pumps. The violet in this kit is more of a deep purple-blue tone

The sephora website says that the black smudge pot is the new limited edition black cat, but the stila says that the black is the regular smudge pot. Anyone know the difference?

The description is wrong. The black smudge pot does NOT contain any shimmer, and is thus labeled simply as "Black".
