I think what they are saying is that the replacement heads are universal amongst the Clarisonic brushes - no special head is needed because the mia is a smaller version handle wise.

Question
Can you leave the Mia plugged in?
One reviewer noted one of the downsides to the Mia is that it requires 18 hours to charge and only lasts 20 minutes. Can you leave it plugged in when not in use rather than charging it for the 18 hours every 5-10 days?

The mia has a blinking light that lets you know if you have reached full charge. I usually use it about 10 or 15 times before I charge it (so I charge it about once a week) and leave it charged all night. It's usually fully charged by the time I wake up, so I don't have any down time and it's always ready for use.

I leave mine charging 24/7 and nothing has ever happened to it. I do the same for my Sonicare toothbrush, and have been since I bought it 7 years ago. It seems like the Clarisonic loses a charge if you don't keep it plugged in for long periods of time, but it could just be me! I like to have it ready when I need it.

The instructions don't say anything about NOT being able to leave it plugged which is what I have been doing. I know some products say not to or you will impact battery life. Hmmm. You've got me thinking I need to make a call!

Question
Good for sensitive skin? Dark spots after acne?
I've read many great reviews and want to try the Mia, but I have sensitive skin with mild acne that gets worse with stress or around my time of the month. I'm really interested in this product but I'm worried(even with the delicate brush head) will it be too much for my skin? Also I have problems with dark spots after my acne clears up, will the Mia help with that?

I have fairly sensitive skin also, and have used the body brush head (the firmest they make) without any problems, so I wouldn't worry too much about the sensitive head being too much for you.

I thought i would need the delicate brush head because of my acne...but i got the one with the senstive brush head instead..and it is perfect!! i have sensitve skin and my dermatologist told me to only use it 2-3 times a week, but i use it every day/night. I think it will help the spots after acne, too.

Question
replacement brush head
I have the Mia clarisonic brush and i need a replacement brush. Are the brush heads that are on your website for the orignal clarisonic and the Mia as well, or are there two different brush heads. I wanted to order a few, but I didn't want to order the wrong ones. Thanks for your help.

Of course it can, and in some ways I think this smaller version would be better, as it is lighter. I don't know if the smaller size would make some areas more difficult to reach, but I seriously doubt that would be a problem. By the same token, I first thought the Mia might reach high-contour areas more easily than the original Clairisonic, but since they use the same size brush heads, I doubt there's that much of a difference there.

Yes, it can be used on the rest of your body. The only thing that would get worn out faster is the bristles but the machine should be fine. You are supposed to replace the bristles when they get worn out and it is not that expensive. I personally use the Mia on my face, neck, and chest. It's fabulous!

The light is not visible unless the product is plugged in. It kind of glows through the handle plastic. It is on the section of the handle that faces your palm when held. The green light isn't very bright and you may want to dim the lights to see it better.

Question
Should Mia cause Break outs?
I received my Mia for Christmas and have used it about 4 times. I have sensitive skin. I since have many small breakouts on my nose and cheeks. This is very unusual for me. Also, my skin is dry and flakey now. Should I keep using or discontinue use?

The first thing I would suspect as the cause of your problem would be that you're using a different cleanser? Did you switch to whatever came with the brush? If so, you could try using that cleanser to wash however you did before you got the brush, and see if that makes any difference, but I would put money on the fact it's the cleanser and not the brush that's causing your problem...it's even possible that what you're describing is an allergic reaction, and again this would likely be due to the ingredients in your cleanser as opposed to the brush bristles (not sure what they're made of, but I would think nylon?)

If it's hormonal products can only do so much. As far as products go if the clarasonic with an excellent face wash doesn't work I would try Obagi.. (I loved it) You need a prescription but it's amazing.

its really not that much smaller, definitely not half the size. It uses the same brush heads so you can use that as a measure. I would say it is about 6 inches in length.

The Clairsonic deep cleans the skin, but isn't a replacement for a weekly exfoliation treatment. Our skin needs a boost for cell turnover (especially as we age) and the Clairsonic is too gentle to remove that top layer of dull/dead skin. If your skin is becoming sensitive while using the Clairsonic and your regular weekly treatment, you may want to consider switching to a more gentle brush head rather than skipping out on your weekly scrub.

I tried using "peeling groovy" (which I love) and other exfoliating products I used to use before I bought Clarisonic and my skin became too sensitive. I do not plan to use any scrubs or peeling serums while using Clarisonic. Clarisonic really does everything. I am glad I will be able to save money on exfoliating products since I feel like I already spent WAY more than I should on a beauty product when purchasing Clarisonic.

Is the Mia waterproof?
From the photo, it looks as though the Mia cannot be used in the shower because of the charging port in the handle.

It's completely waterproof. I use mine in the shower. The charger comes off of the actual unit, so I keep the charger on my bathroom shelf so that it doesn't get wet, but the Mia itself is completely waterproof.
