Questions & Answers for Clinique Acne Solutions Oil-Control Cleansing Mask

Question
Clinique vs. DDF?
I'm trying to decide between this mask and the DDF sulfur mask. I know Clinique's is cheaper but DDF's has more and I think would be more cost efficient. But cost aside, which one would be better? I have oily skin with mild acne.

I've never tried DDF's sulfur mask, but I do know that Clinique's mask is oil-free and it would definitely work for someone with an oily skin type.
P.S. I hope this helps you! :)

I also have oily skin with slight acne. I switched from DDF to Clinique and thus far am happy. I find it works as well but clinique is slightly less drying to my skin. Also DDF product tended to dry out towards the end of the tub. It could always be reconstituted by sprinking a little water on it but.... I just thought the product might be better preserved in a tube rather than a tub. Plus, as you noted - it's cheaper. We all gotta economize. Try clinique and see if it doesn't work for you before you spend a little more on DDF.

I have mild acne as well so I thought I may give you my opinion. If you are looking for actual "oil control" I love this product. It works and well worth the money. I am going to be honest, I have not tried the other brand, but I didn't need to once I used this.

I honestly love this mask, you won't be disappointed. I have tried a sulfur mask, not DDS but trust me, it doesn't smell pretty and never worked well. It seemed to over dry my skin. Never did see a difference, only when I started using this product about a week ago, it works FAST. Also, you have oily skin, follow with Clinique's Moisture Surge Lotion. It's gel formulated which absorbs quickly and leaves your face feeling silky smooth instead of oily, I noticed it with my skin. Hope this helps a little but of course everyone reacts differently to different products.

I started using it once a day and with a good moisturizer I think that this is best. It will control oil and acne. However if you tend to have more dry skin I would use it every other day or once a week. No matter how much you use it, this product will do wonders for your skin!

Question
how long should I leave it on?
I know the instructions say 5 minutes, but would it damage the skin to leave it on longer for maybe about 15 min? also I'm planning on using this about everyday, would that be too much for my relatively oily skin?

I actually leave this stuff on all night while I'm sleeping, and then I wake up and the pimple should be flatten out or greatly reduced. Sometimes it will get a little dry and flaky around the pimple area, but I don't care about that, I just want to get rid of the acne.

Typically I leave it on about 10 minutes. Sometimes I forget, but no harm done when I do.

no, it wouldn't damage your skin. I leave it on for about 15-20 minutes, and it just gets really tight, thats all. and I wouldn't suggest using this everyday, just because there's no need to. I would say maybe max of 3-4 days a week is good enough!

The tube is about 15cm tall and holds a fair sized amount of the product. You don't need that much as the clay squeezes out pretty liquidy and solidifies thickly on your face.
