How long does the color last?
Some of the tinted balms I've tried wear off super quickly. How long does the color last with this one? Will it last thorough a cup of coffee?

i don't know whether or not it'll last through a cup of coffee. it seems like if something in moisturizing, it's inherently pretty creamy/oily, and thus subject to stamina issues. i don't have issues with the staying power of this lip stuff, but it's not a miracle product, you know?
have you tried the new stain from tarte? that might be what you need. it lasts for ever and is surprisingly moist. maybe a combo of the peachy color of that stain, with this stuff over it?

the color lasts a pretty long time....for how moisturizing it is, its actually the color pay off is surprisingly good! :] almost as good as lipstick!! :D

I typically drink with a straw... to avoid reapplication. With that said, I purchased this product last week, so I haven't done a lot of testing. I put it on this morning... ate, had a glass or two of water and kissed the kids a few times and it is still visible. So, my answer would be yeah... it would last.

I find that it lasts easily through a drink. If I take time to apply liner before, it lasts all through dinner, too. :) I also like to layer a gloss on top for extra shine for that "special occasion."

No it won't last through a cup of coffee. It wears off even if you don't have a beverage.

No the color does not last at all. It has a long lasting moisture feel and just a hint in color. Make reapplying neccesary.

It's a lip balm, so it doesn't have the staying power of lipstick. But for a balm, it seems to keep the lips slightly tinted and soft, even if the initial application wears off. I really like it - and I'm pretty picky.

The color will last through a cup of coffee, but like every sheer color you will have to reapply to get the best look. Tinted lipbalms are not for those who want an all-day wear. They're for those of us who like a sheer color and don't mind reapplying periodically throughout the day

Is super mosturizing with a sheer touch of color. You can say bye-bye to your regular chapstick!

The texture is smoother than Chap Stick (which I find way too waxy). But, as I mentioned in my review, I would not rec. this for lips as it has a bitter taste.

Definitely in place of chapstick, I've discarded them! This is all I use, the color is rich but sheer, great thing to have in yor bag at the beach.

yeah, you could skip lip balm this. you might want to put some on before bed, but during the day, this won't stress out your lips and make them dry. it's pleasantly creamy.

Compare to Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments?
They're approximately the same size and the same price, so I'm wondering which you prefer. I've tried the Fresh Sugar and not the HydraTint, but I found that the Fresh Sugar didn't last long (especially the tint), therefore I went through it really, really quickly. Which has better color, is more long-wearing, more hydrating, etc.? Thanks!!

I much prefer Sugar. More hydrating, sheer and natural looking. Sugar gives you color in the darker shades, but it doesn't look like lipstick. L. Mercier is too thick and bright for my taste; maybe it was the color I had. Also, I think Sugar has more natural ingredients.

Definitely buy a different product. The HydraTint was not moisturizing and it smelled really plain and gross.

Have not tried the Fresh Sugar but was very disappointed with the Hydra Tint, did not feel like it was moisturizing in the way a lip balm would be and the color was very strange. Honestly, I would recommend one of their sheer lipsticks and the clear (looks slightly pink in tube but is clear on lips) lip balm either over or under it.

I actually love them both, but yes, the laura mercier might last a little longer. I found them to be very similar in feel and looks.

also love the sugar lip treatment! the consistency is very smooth (almost 'melts' into your lips) the hydra tint is more lipstick-ish in its consistency; still sheer but not as soft so you don't go through it nearly as quickly...

I haven't tried the Fresh. I just bought this, so I haven't used much yet. You do need to reapply after eating or drinking.

I love both. The fresh balm is more hydrating feeling, and the hydratint is more dry. The hydratint has about 10x the pigmentation that the fresh balm and the tint lasts a lot longer (I think it has to do with the slightly more dry formula).
