Dark complexion nude colors choices?

I am tan/med-dark complexioned with black hair. I am looking for a beautiful nude pink color. I've tried Las Vegas--too pale pink unless I use other lipgloss over it. I love Milan (peachy-nude). I've tried almost every old color they have--either it is too bright or too subtle. Any new shades that Buxomistas can recommend? Athens, Sydney, Barcelona? I love Bombay and use it regularly. Looking for something pink and nude colored (Jennifer Lopez look). If I can't find it, I'll go back to Milan (which is really nice too). Thanks!

Okay, I posted this question: dark/tan complexion which colors? I went to the store and checked out all the colors. The ones that work best: Milan (beautiful shade of nude to pair with lip gloss) San Francisco (brighter hue than nude), Bombay (my favorite but it is not a nude color), and Athens (pinky nude). Hope that helps others.

Perhaps try Brooklyn? I am not very tan, but do have olive tone to my skin. I bought it thinking it would be more nude, but it turned out a bit darker on me. It's a slightly brownish/plummy/mauve. But on darker skin, it could possibly work as a nice nude.

I would go with the Milan. I'm the opposite - olive skin with tan undertones and dark hair and green eyes, and the Berlin is perfect for me.

I strongly recommend you find a store with testers for those colors. I found the pictures not very helpful. I originally bought Barcelona but had to return it because it was just a little too orange. (Later got Havana and love it.) Also don't forget that Sephora has hassle-free returns. So if you can't test it before just guess and keep your receipt and packaging.

I have blonde hair, green eyes and fair skin and I have 3 shades that I love. Berlin seems to be a nude w/ a slight pinky brownish undertone, Milan is also a nude, but with a peach tone and my actual favortie is Brooklyn which I'd consider a rosy nude. Seems to keep my lips in good condition.

The only color that HAS shimmer is London. It is such a pale baby pink it needs it to pop. ALL the other big and healthy lip sticks are shimmer free.

Marrakech and Vienna don't have shimmer. Marrakech is a good neutral nude and Vienna is a pink nude. They look great with gloss on top. There are other non-shimmery ones, but these are the 2 I'm familiar with.

I'm ash blonde with hilights and lowlight's, blue eye's, medium rose and some yellow complexion and have decent lip color on my own. Monte Carlo look's like HOT PINK PINK, to bright...looking for a nice good pink that pops, so can't tell from aswers if Las Vegas would look good.

Suggestion's?? I don't like orange, Amsterdam, Las Vegas and Brooklyn all look interesting.....

Hi there! I bought the Amsterdam stick and love it! I am blonde, blue eyed and have fair skin as well. I am not into bright pinks but I love this stick and I even pair it with some lip gels for a greater impact in the evening. It works beautifully and my husband compliments me all the time! I did not think I would like the pencil but I do -- I think you will too! Hope this helps!

My skin and eyes are your colors, and my hair is dark brown (almost black) with silver highlights. That color is not too bright or too soft for me, and I think it should work well for you. It's a really good color. If you wanted it brighter, after you got it, I would used a Buxom gloss over it. The sets are good for adjusting tone, and even the colors I thought wouldn't look good on me mostly did when I tried them. I love the Lip Sticks!

I have dirty blonde hair with light highlighs and light skin. I usually apply a bronzer so my complection is a little darker, I guess more of the summer nude, and i have las Vegas and Amsterdam. For me amsterdam is a perfect nude everyday color, and las Vegas is perfect for going out. The color is gorgeous. It took me a little bit to get used to it because I usual go for more nude shades and the color is BRIGHT.
But I love it. Love them both.

My top choice for you would be:

Bombay (rose) Item # 1250372

Las Vegas (vibrant pink) Item # 1195650 is likely to be softer than your natural lip color, however this would also be a great choice for a bright pink on the lighter side.

Sounds like you'd like San Francisco. Also Sydney is a nice pinkish nude to use as a base or layer over deeper colors. I couldn't do without these! Like you, I can't wear anything orangey or too warm in general. I have dark brown hair, lighter green eyes and use Medium foundation but also use Fair as these are cooler in tone.

the shades pictured on the product page I've found to be lighter than the actual product. The lipstick itself is usually much darker. But I love this line and will continue to use it just be wary of the discrepancy

I didn't find them true-to-life at ALL!

Nantucket looked nice and neutral on the site, but really really orange in the store. Athens, on the other hand, looked orangey on the site and peachy in the store. All of the colors were more intense in person than in their online swatches.

If you're really particular about the color, you should definitely go to the store (and probably try it on your face instead of your hand because I found it much more opaque than I expected).

The colors of Buxom are very clear and stay true. Try a few in the store and be sure to let them set on your skin or lips for a few minutes. My skin is a yellowy color. Very hard to find makeup for. I tried a few shades before I settled on the pink for summer and then found the exact shade just a little darker for winter.

If you look at Laura Mercier lipsticks, amaretto is great with those colors. It's a bronze pink, a good earthy neutral rich lip color that wears well. If you usually wear berry tones, their violet is really good.

It depends on how dark you like your lips. I am not a person who likes a lot of color on my lips and find Sydney is a great nude/pale pink that seems like it would be flattering on anyone. Try Sydney with the Leslie Gloss over the top and you will love it!

The two best colors for me are:
Bombay, which is a natural, rosey-pinkish color.
& Brooklyn, which sort of a raisin shade, but it is much, much more natural looking on then you would imagine.

I would recommend Brooklyn or Berlin. Brooklyn is more mauve however with Berlin you can always add Eva Buxom Lipgloss and have a pinkyer color

Try outining the lips as a liner and then color them in. Then use the buxom Eva on the area you like plumper. I am sure you will get the result you need. I have not found that this pulls to orange, I purchased these two products to wear with red, a bright red....also to wear with other hard colors, like coral. Hope this helps.

The Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Barcelona is the perfect red. It is matte so you can wear it alone or put a gloss over for some extra shine, If you're looking for something long wearing though, I don't recommend this product!! MAC has some colors that I think wear longer!

Everyone's lips have their own chemistry but you can tell what colors work for you. If you like a full, buxon look, creamy velvet color, I'd go for Brooklyn. It is a lovely, neutral pinkish (slightly mauvey) brown and goes on smoothly. I think you won't be sorry if you try "Brooklyn". I wasn't.

The only color Ive tried so far is the berlin and my coloring sounds about the same as yours. I was afraid it might look too dark or too brown, but it turned out to be fine, although it is not plummy. You could try two of the colors and use them together.

The shade that comes in A Wink and a Kiss is Brooklyn, and it really doesn't look anything like the color swatch. It's a deep brick red in person. LOVE the texture of it, but it's WAY too dark for me.

I have fair skin, too, and got Brooklyn. It's pinkish-purple with a brown undertone. I usually wear Clinique's Black Honey which is sheer and I was also looking for something that provided more color. This feels like more than I wanted -- although my family says it's not that bright -- so I blot it for daywear and throw a Fresh Sugar Rose on top for a little gloss and the spf.

Depending on the natural color of your lips. Mine are highly pigmented so I stay away from anything orangy. I'd try Milan for you, not Marrakech or Brooklyn is very pretty. Natural mauve-y pink on me. Good luck
