Questions & Answers for Buxom Lashliner

Question
How do you apply this to your eyelashes?
I love this product as a liner and it works great. But I'm just wondering, how do you apply it to your eyelashes? Do you get a mascara brush and dip it into the container?? I would think that would mess up the product.

Using an angled liner brush, I apply this to my lash line with my eye barely open. It will produce a very thin line but that's easily removeable with some eye makeup remover, a Q-tip, and a very steady hand. Then, I apply my primer and shadows as usual.

I don't think you use it on your eyelashes... but i've been using it for a few months now just as an eyeliner, and the product really does what it promises. my lashes look healthier and longer than ever!

It is not a mascara-just liner that is suppose to be good for you lashes as some liners cause lash loss etc and this is suppose to have all the good stuff to help stop damage to lashes---at least that is the way I read it.

This is an eyeliner, not a mascara. The idea is to use a brush to apply a bit of the product along your lashline (that's the little bit of skin along your eyelashes, not the actual lashes. I use the Sephora I.T. Slanted Eyeliner brush, and it works great!

Question
Can someone better describe the "Sequins" color?
Is the glitter overpowering, or does it give just a hint of sparkle to the black? Have you experienced much glitter fallout when wearing this product?

Sequins is really pretty! It's a soft black with just enough sparkle to make it interesting. I don't have fallout but I do use the Urban Decay primer - that is a must-have! I posted a picture with my review - hopefully this will help.

I thought the sparkle in it was way to much! It reminded me of grade school when the chunky glitter was in.

It is a true black with micro sparkles and yes I have experienced having the sparkles chip off by the end of the day and end up around my eyes....It is not an overwhelming look of black and sparkle I would say more black than sparkle which is why it always surprises me when I find the micros around my eyes. I am going back for the straight black for everyday wear.

'Sequins' is a matte black with silver glitter in it.

I checked out 'sequins' this afternoon. The glitter is definitely not overpowering. Lightly peppered in the liner are micro-flecks of glitter. There is not a lot of fallout, and the glitter is not very pronounced. It's simply an accent to the black.

I suggest never keeping eye and lip cosmetics after 3 months. If you haven used it up, replace it because of bacteria. I've worked retail for 20 years.

It might not last as long as one would hope. I've had it for only a month, and it's already starting to dry out a little. I do however use it everyday, and if that's your intention, then you should be able to finish it before it's totally dried out.

I had mine for over 6 months, I did purchase a new one even though I had a lot of product left, it was becoming dryer and not as smoothly going on. Make sure the cap is on tight, or it will dry out. I never had an irration problem with this. Although I wash my liner brush often.

I had mine for over 6 months or more (can't remember), so don't worry about an expiry for this. As long as it hasn't dried up, it's still good and safe for your eyes.

How does this compare to the MAC fluidline?
I lost my fluidline and I'm thinking about getting this. I've been using the MAC one for about 4 years now so I'm a bit iffy about this. Please help me out :)

Buxom makes your lashes grow longer and fuller. It's finish is glossier and it's not as thick as Fluidline. I think Mac is easier to apply and dries faster but it's worth it to me to use Buxom because it has made my lashes longer and fuller.

Not Waterproof like this website says. The package doesn't mention anything about Waterproof, or even smudgeproof.
It does have a high pigment. If your eyes water a lot, I wouldn't recommend this eyeliner. Lancome Artliner & Kat Van D pen liner stays put.

Stick with MAC. I too am a MAC girl, but bought this because I prefer the silver glitter as compared to the gold with MAC. Hands down MAC wins. MAC is waterproof, long lasting and does everything I want in an eyeliner. I'm still using my Fluidline.

Waterproof?
I see a lot of comments about how this eyeliner is very long-wearing... does that include waterproof/resistant? I'm guessing if it was truly waterproof, they would mark that on the product description, but I'm just curious.

My eyes water a lot. If I don't use waterproof makeup within the 5 minutes of applying it, the makeup runs and my eyes tear. I think all gel eyeliner is waterproof that's probably why they didn't put it on the packaging. The Buxom is the best one.

I have never had that problem with this liner. I would definitely recommend a primer- I always use makeup primer and that may be why my experience has been so different.
I personally don't like a lot of the primers that are made for eyelids (a lot are like concealers- very thick consistency, and creamy). The one I always use is actually from a drug store- it is called "face makeup base" from a company called "Lumene". This is a very light, silky formula that you can't really even feel once it is on. It doesn't just sit on top of your skin like a lot of eyelid primers do (which I personally think does not help any if you already have problems with makeup creasing). This primer is also great to use on the rest of your face before applying mineral makeup. It only takes a tiny quantity on your lids- smooth it on and let it dry completely before applying any makeup. Another thing that may help your liner to stay put is to apply any eyeshadow FIRST, then the liner on top, last. I have also heard of people going back over the liner with a like-colored powder shadow, but I've never tried this, or found it necessary to do so to make my liner stay put.

The consistency of the fluid-line is thicker and Mac's last longer. Buxom has a mousse feel to it, easy to apply. If you're looking for a healthier alternative this is it! It helps condition the eyelashes and it doesn't make them fall out (Mac's was doing that to my lashes).I am a Mac fan but honestly buxom is going beyond my expectations. I'm on my 3rd pot now! :)

I have used both and I think Buxom is far superior and I LOVE mac products. I wear eyeliner on my inner lid and mac's liquid eyeliner makes a huge mess, gets all over my eyeball, & burns... I guess it depends on how you will use it, but even if you plan to apply on the outer eyelid, I think it is much easier to apply and correct if you make a mistake.
