Mine dried out after awhile. Started as a mouse-like consistency, dried to a cream like, before it dried to the point of being unusable. I got use out of about half the container

I'm on my second buxom lashliner. It didn't dry out for me. But I keep mine jar closed as much as possible. Whenever I need to use it, I take out a little out with the brush and put it at the back of my hand and i reapply from the back of my hand.

If your gel liner dries out, you can always add some of MAC's fix+ or something like it to get it creamy and smooth again. Just google how or what else you can use to do it.

Unfortunately, mine has dried out. It's still smooth, but really hard to get enough on the brush to do anything but make little crumbly globs. I was really hoping this was going to last and stay creamy like it was when I got it - and yes, I always put the lid back on tight. I like that it's not a liquid (I cannot get those on well), but it's now getting dry, and it's not as waterproof as I would like it to be. I can't keep ANY eyeliner from ending up in the inner corners of my eyes. I want to know how to keep it in place on the "inner rim" - mine won't even stick there for more than a second, no matter what I use! Anyhow, does anyone know how to make this stuff softer once it dries up? Can you wet your brush to apply it better?

So far I haven't had any issues with it drying out at all. It stays nice and moist and feels really good putting it on.
