According to my chemistry professor, shampoos that claim to be sulfate free are nonsense. He says it's so they can charge you more for the product. I wouldn't grade this by what it contains, rather by what it does. If you do have a problem with sulfates, I recommend using natural remedies on your hair. I've tried a few, and they're as good as what you pay 20 bucks for. The best remedy I've found so far is .. mix vinegar with baking soda and water. Be careful when mixing because the baking soda and vinegar react together. When combined, they neutralize the acidic level and make it neutral. This is good. I would swear by it. Be careful though if you dye your hair, I hear it might strip the color, so don't use it often. It's good for dandruff too. So this is basically the best way to avoid the sulfates.

I cant claim to know for sure but I have a strong hunch that there are in fact sulfates in this - it left my daughters hair VERY dry.
