I looked at the ingredient list for the heat and humidity gel, didn't see any silicone based products listed. Toward the end of the list there was some glycerin. It definitely doesn't feel like the silicone based products I've used before. Feels more hydrating than those.

Yes my curly, colored hair friend it does!! Blonde till I got older and wanted to keep it blonde, for as long as I can remember. I have started trying this product and I am very happy with it. I suggest that you try the travel kit because of the cost and if it does not work out for you, you have not lost a ton of money on it.

My mother has straight hair with a little bit of wavy and it definately gave her more wave. If your nervous I'd get a sample first. I don't know if it gives waves or curlsto hair that never had any.

According to my chemistry professor, shampoos that claim to be sulfate free are nonsense. He says it's so they can charge you more for the product. I wouldn't grade this by what it contains, rather by what it does. If you do have a problem with sulfates, I recommend using natural remedies on your hair. I've tried a few, and they're as good as what you pay 20 bucks for. The best remedy I've found so far is .. mix vinegar with baking soda and water. Be careful when mixing because the baking soda and vinegar react together. When combined, they neutralize the acidic level and make it neutral. This is good. I would swear by it. Be careful though if you dye your hair, I hear it might strip the color, so don't use it often. It's good for dandruff too. So this is basically the best way to avoid the sulfates.

I am black and have natural hair. I used the Curl Quencher Shampoo and Conditioners; however. I noticed more defined curls after the first day of use, but I wonder how much more improvement I will see (so far it has been 4 days of use). Not sure if this product will give better results than Aveda's Be Curly, though. : /
