Question
Is this a moisturizer or a serum?

Probably somewhere in between--I would consider it a serum, a moisturizing one (if that makes sense). It has the texture of a cream, not a thin liquid. I have really dry skin and I layer my moisturizer over it. If you have normal or oily skin you might find it's fine to use it alone.

I consider it a serum but it also has moisturizing properties. I sometimes apply a moisturizer over it, but it is not necessary in the summer (unless you have dry skin). For me, it has taken the place of Retin-A.

This product is like a thin cream to be used as your last step before moisturizing.

Moisterizer. I like serums, but this does dry quickly and leaves your skin soft like a serum.

It has the consistency of a moisturizer, but it's meant to be more of a serum. If you're very dry, I'd recommend putting an actual moisturizer over it.

NO. Contains Retinol, acids, and other ingredients that are NOT safe for pregnancy because they travel through your blood stream to the baby.

Question
% of retinol
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what percentage of retinol is in this product. It says it has the highest % of retinol available. Does it dry the skin when you first start to use it? Thanks

Not sure of the percentage of retinol but I do not find this is drying to the skin. I do use a moisturizer on top (after waiting 10 min.) as my skin is getting drier as I age. I find this product non irritating and I have combo/sensitive skin. Using for 6 months and never a breakout.

I've been using it for about a month and found it e xtremely drying. I'll be returning because I just can't deal with the dryness and pealing/flaking. At first I thought, oh, this is good. I'll have fresh looking skin underneath. Not exactly, just made me look like I have skin issues.

Samples are a great way to try new products & we include three free samples with every Sephora.com order. The sample selection is listed on our website and changes frequently, so check back often to see what we're offering. At this time we are not able to send custom samples from our warehouse.

Another great way to try new products is to visit your local Sephora store. At the store, a Cast Member can make a tester for you of any products that we carry. They can also answer questions for you and make recommendations for other products. To find a store near you, check out our store locator.

Absolutely! I've been doing it for years. Of course to answer this, like any skin-based question you have to know you're skin. I have dry, allergic, aging skin with adult acne (that's treated through retinol products). None of Perricone's products have ever caused me problems with allergies so I'm willing to try just about any combo with them. That said, if you have "sensitive skin" it might be different. They are both strong products and combining them could have an effect on your skin (there's a difference between allergic and sensitive skin). So then you have to decide what you're trying to treat. To me retinol is scientifically based so I trust that. If you're treating aging or acne than I would recommend it. I do feel that the other product does help in firming, but retinol literally fights the signs of aging but building collegan in your skin so I think it's a better product.

I use both products together the same way you are. I think it makes sense to put the retinol on first, however using two serums together takes away the effectiveness of the second product.

Using an over the counter vitamin a or vitamin a derivative like retinol should be just fine for pregnant women. Most of the evidence indicates that topical retinol in does not increase the risk for congenital malformations.

Question
Do I apply both restore treatment and evening repair?
I called Perricone for advise and only ended up more confused. He first told me that I should apply both products in the evening. Then he told me it was an either or (one or the other) Then he told me to appyl the evening repair product one night and the restore treatment the next night.

this product with the concentrated restorative treatment for me would be to much. the crt cream makes my skin itchy and it sometimes burns a little. try the night repair with the face finishing moisturizer and eye cream and you should be set. you can also use the day repair with the face finishing mosturizer and eye cream and save yourself some money!

Question
Is this product comedogenic?
I just ordered the set that comes with this, the nutritive cleanser, and the high potency amine face lift from Perriconemd.com because i thought it was an extremely good deal and I need a retinol.

But I was wondering if this or the amine face lift are comedogenic?
I would imagine a retinol product should not be comedogenic

I don't know if it's listed as such, but as I have adult acne, and use it partially to treat my acne I find that it certainly hasn't made it worse, but has definitely helped to treat it. Interestingly I recently met one of the Perricone reps at the Madison Square Garden Sephora and she told me that she uses this cream for her adult acne as well.

Is this product good for acne?
In addition to large pores, dark spots caused by acne, and laugh lines I still have stubborn acne. Is this really a multipurpose product?

I've had trouble with breakouts from various chemicals. I've found that using less chemicals and sticking to the basics have worked. This product has helped me with my pores and lightening my spots plus my skin looks more supple and less ragged. I'm less prone to prodding my pores which stretches out the skin. My regimen lately is washing warm with Basis or other basic face wash then an alcohol -free toner to close the pores and a sensitive skin moisturizer. I use the high potency at night and the Super turmeric for spf protection which has been a huge plus because my skin usually reacted to any other spf product. The rep explained that there is chemical protection and physical which the Super product uses. I feel more confident using less makeup lately even going bare on weekends!
