Questions & Answers for Givenchy Gloss Interdit Ultra-Shiny Color Plumping Effect

Question
Taste of the gloss
Some have commented on the fragrance of the gloss -- and the write up even makes a big deal about the "notes" of the gloss's fragrance....but how does it taste? I mean, it's on your mouth after all....some of it might get in there! I'm a bit worried it's going to taste like I missed my neck and misted my face with perfume. Can anyone comment on how the gloss tastes?

Thanks so much for any words of advice.

it obviously depends on how sensitive you are to scent/taste, but it feels very strong to me. i eventually got used to it, but despite how much i like this gloss, it's unlikely i'll repurchase due to the strong scent/taste. I can see some people not minding too much, but the taste is definitely not a natural one. It tastes perfume-y and rather chemical-y.

the gloss does not taste bad... and i also doesn't taste good. it is not sweet and fruity like a lot of lip glosses but does not have a perfumey taste AT ALL. it tastes just like.... lipgloss! :) it's a great buy i highly recommend it!

it's very pleasant on the lips ... you definitely will not taste perfume, just a pleasant after-scent.

I wouldn't suggest you buy it.. I didn't have any issues with taste, I just didn't like the applicator, or the stickiness of the product.

If anything I'd say the taste is ever so slightly sweet. It's not very noticeable. Definitely doesn't taste like chemicals or alcohol (as in fragrance for perfume). Some of the deliberately flavored glosses I've tried in the past have been thick and gooey (like Lancome's juicy tubes for instance). This is a smooth texture, spa like fragrance and very very slightly sweet (nothing my dog has tried to eat yet unlike others). Hope that helps some!!

I like the scent of this gloss. While I don't think I would want to consume it, this product tastes fine to me. I know what you mean, but I don't find that it tastes like perfume

The taste isn'y super strong. I mean, it doesn't taste amazingly delicious or anything, but i think it tastes kind of nice, actually. It definitely doesn't have the bitter taste that perfume has!

Question
Highly pigmented? Are all the colours this way?
I'm tired of pinks you can barely see and nudes you see right through! A few people have said this gloss is highly pigmented...Are all the colours in this line this way? Such as the 01 pink? Thanks for any help!

Half of the glosses are highly pigmented that keep their color and half of the glosses are more sheer. I would go to a store and try the shades!

I haven't tried the pink 01, but the colors I've used are very true to how they look in the bottle.

i tried on all of them and they were ALL highly pigmented. with a full coat it can look like you just applied a fresh coat of luscious lipstick; and with a slight sweep, it can look like a slightly pigmented glaze. it's great for everyone!

I think they do - but you still have to try these on and see them on you. I have yet to find that perfect pink that has depth and shine without looking like Barbie. Still, I think these glosses are better than most. I do have the 01 pink color and like it. Obviously the color of your lips matters, but the 01 pink is one you can see (not so sheer you only see your lips, but a bit shinier).

It is highly pigmented. A little goes a long way. I bought an orange shade and I barely have to use any to cover my full lips.

Yes, the colors in this line are very pigmented and dense. The gloss itself is quite thick, but "slick" (not sticky or tacky) and more translucent than sheer. I have dark skin and typically lighter colors just appear glossy and clear. With this gloss, even super light colors like 'capricious pink' and 'coral frenzy' appeared distinctively "pink" and "peachy-pink" respectively. If you live within commuting distance of a Sephora store, I recommend testing them; they also smell lovely in an indescribable way.

this gloss is rich in color and will be richer if you add a lip pencil. i know how you feel. i'm tired of lip glosses that you can see through.

What I think you will love is that you can layer the color and make it as sheer or as opaque as you want. If you're tired of nudes and pinks, try the succulent orange. If you want something with less pigment, Givenchy makes Pop Glosses that have color with more of a traditional gloss look.
