Questions & Answers for Urban Decay Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion

Question
Is there notable difference in skin appearance with this product?
I'm a HUGE UD fan, but I am also frugal. I work in a salon, and buy my mineral foundation and blush through my work (getting product at cost is awesome) I feel like my coverage is pretty good, so I need to know how much difference this product makes in the appearance of the skin before I spend $30. Any advise would be highly appreciated.

I'd get a sample first... I personally didn't notice any improvement in the longevity of my makeup, and it caused me breakouts (which I don't have often.)

Question
Is it okay for undereye area?
I was wondering if this could go on dark circles under the eyes. I was thinking since it's "brightening" formula, it might help hide dark circles and keep my foundation on. Or is it too harsh for it?

I bought it for an under-eye primer to keep concealer from looking cakey. It feels a bit burn-y for me but that goes away super quickly. I notice NO difference at all in my (very dark) circles.

It is very mild and can be used under the eyes. You could then put on your concealer or foundation without a problem, once the primer has dried.

they told me in the store it's supposed to be too "strong" or whatever for that area, but I use it there myself. I just use a teeny-tiny bit. I wouldn't say I notice any brightening really. I like the Benefit Eye Bright and the Ooo-la-Lift for that. Personally :-)

I used it with Smashbox Halo, which is powder. However, like I said in my review, I don't know if it really helps foundation last any longer.

Question
Good for dry skin?
I have dry, flaky skin around my nose and forehead, it says it's a moisturizer but if i put on liquid foundation after i apply this, will it kind of, umm... moisturize it enough? that doesn't make sense but... sometimes when i wear liquid foundation it accentuates the flaky dryness of my skin which is gross so... i guess i'm asking that IF i wear this and then i put on liquid foundation, will the dry flaky spots not show? thanks!

This primer will work better for dryier skin and older, fine lines. Don't expect miracles! Only better than Revlon/ Cover Girl serum and Hard Candy.....
If your skin is very dry you will still need to moisturise before as always but this primer make you skin fresher...the makeup will not look dry or cakey..

I have dry skin around my mouth and nose. I use the primer first, apply liquid foundation, loose power etc. I have yet to have it cake up on me or promote dry skin.

My skin tends to get dry in the winter and this was the perfect solution! I also use liquid foundation with it (two face magic wand to be exact) and it works great! Def recommend.

I tried it both for eyeshadow primer and under-eye concealer primer and I wouldn't recommend it for either of these. It's too thin and lightweight. Try UD's Original eyeshadow primer (if you haven't yet). I use that with my Naked2 pallet and it works great.

I really like UD primer and feel it does a great job. I use it every day and a little bit goes a long way. A tube will easily last me 6 months or longer. If you have the UD pallette then I think you will really like this primer as it makes the colors stand out (or your eye makeup just looks better), it really helps to prevent or decrease creasing and the overall staying power (have you ever had eyemakeup just disappear or eyeliner slide off? It could be just me:). I have the Original and Greed and I think original is my fave. The Greed is a strong gold color going on and I find it creases on its own so I don't really like it as well.

Is this product okay to go over moisturizer?
I have combination skin so I use a pretty heavy moisturizer on certain spots, so I was wondering if this product goes on well over moisturizers or if it just makes the skin oily.

Question
Does this product contain silicone?
I looked at the ingredients and I saw that it didn't contain Dimethicone, which I know is usually the main ingredient in the silicone-heavy primers. Are there other types of silicones in this product though?

No, this product does not include silicone. It includes Aqua, litchi chinensis pericarp extract, ethylhexyl palmitate, glycerin, polyacrylamide, algae extract, thermus, and sodium benzoate.

Water is the first ingredient on the list which means it is a water-based primer. However it does contain Silica Dimethyl Silylate located near the end of the ingredient list. Silica Dimethyl Silylate is a derivative of a type of silicone. It's located so far down the list that I highly doubt there's much in there. Also, not all silicones are "bad". I personally don't really like silicone based products and how they feel on my face and have absolutely no issues with this primer.

I prefer Smashbox. As soon as I put it on, I can tell a difference - my skin looks very smooth! This I couldn't tell as much of a difference using this one.
