What is the difference between Lancome's other primer and this product?
Will the oscillation powerbooster actually make lashes grow? Make them come in thicker, or is it just a thickening agent like the primer?

This is text from the Lancome website: "*The vibrating powerprimer enhances lash thickness, density and appearance of length so that naturally occurring lash growth is more visible/noticeable. Does not stimulate lash growth."
Their website also lists different ingredients for each of the two products. The Cils Booster is listed having vitamin E.

I don't find the oscillation that amazing to be honest but it's ok.
what I have heard, however, is that the non-oscillating primer is a different formula (supposedly not quite as good).
I suggest you take a trip to sephora and try one on each eye and then see if there is any real difference in results or how it lasts throughout the day. (may try that myself actually!)

I have used Estee Primer and this oscillating primer...this product puts down SO much more primer...longer, thicker...so it creates great lashes.

I was told this has vitamin E so it suppose to help it appear thicker and help it grow, weather it does it not, i will see but i do notice it looks longer.

it's just a thickening agent like the primer, with a much better application system. If you like the primer, this is an upgrade that's worth the money.

no product can actually say that it makes your lashes grow except for a prescription, but it can say that it enhances the appearance.. basically it does without being able to make that claim.. my lashes are already extremely long and i considered using latisse or another similar product to make them super long and dramatic but seeing as this is much cheaper i decided to give it a shot and i couldnt be happier..

No, not unless you want white lashes! The primer is white and it is meant to be cover by a black/brown/whatever colored mascara you are using. It will dry white if not covered.

After noticing that my eyelashes seemed to have grown, I re-read the literature that comes with the product. You can wear this product overnight (although I am not that fanatical) as a conditioner for the lashes. However, during the day, you would definitely need to use mascara -- unless you want to look other-worldly with white eyelashes.

If you want totally white lashes, sure. The color is pure white, not clear like some primers. And it's messy. I don't recommend it.

how to use with mascara
The directions that come with the product instruct to apply mascara immediately after applying the primer. In my experience, this means that I get a mix of white and black mascara since the white is still wet when I apply the black, and they mix. The white does tend to fade during the day, but I wonder: am I doing this correctly?

If you apply the booster, I wait a minute and do my lipliner and lip gloss while I wait (and I mean actually wait 30-60 seconds) and THEN apply mascara. You have to let the product 'set-up' for a moment otherwise you defeat the purpose of using it at all (I was told this tip by a Lancome sales rep and have seen the difference). I have been using this product for over a year and found this works very well. Good luck!

I have this problem a little bit when first applying it, but I do not just go over my lashes once. I go over them multiple times with my black mascara, and then once again once or twice again after it all dries. Perhaps, try that... I imagine though if even going over them multiple times when applying directly afterward does not seem to cover the white then waiting until that all dries and then going over the dry mixed white/black will make them black and cover the white.

You have to use a Lancome mascara, plus you have to give the primer some time to dry, even if the instructions say immediately, they might not mean instantly.

I also had the problem of the white/black mix that seemed to remove the booster as the mascara went on, so now I wait 1-2 minutes before applying mascara. This definitely works better, keeps the primer on, keeps the separation and length the primer established, etc. It's a little sticky, but still preferable.

Wouldn't hurt, but I use regular mascara because it is hard to find oscillating mascara in anything but black.

you wont get any additional results from using the oscillating mascara, the magic is in the primer! you can use this with any mascara you want no matter what brand it is

I had a tube last a whole year... one dip is more than sufficient for application on both eyes (and I have a lot of lashes). I would not recommend using overnight as it makes my lashes crust together and then fall out... not what the product was intended for I think!

Just got it, not sure how long it lasts yet. I feel like the "forced" application puts too much product on at once which would cause me to believe that it won't last long. I don't use it at night as a lash conditioner because I use Latisse which is truly AMAZING!

I completely agree with the earlier reviewer. My own eyelashes seem to have grown and gotten thicker. I had a bald patch on one of my eyes, and those lashes have grown in after at least 2 years of having no lashes in that area. The literature says that you can use it overnight as a conditioning treatment. I haven't gone that far, but from my experience, my lashes have been helped tremendously, as this product has definiltely nurtured my "thin, fragile lashes back to health"!

It has conditioners in it so it is suppose to help with your lash "health." Personally, it has helped my thin, short lashes grow longer and so far, they have stayed that way (no breaking or falling out). I don't know if everyone will see a difference but I definitely do!

The primer is white so mascara should be applied over it. I forgot to apply mascara once after I used it and a friend thought I had worn colored mascara. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not a really flattering color.
