Yes, this is definitely safe for color-treated hair I perm and color my hair red, an auburn shade, and It does not strip the color out at all.

I color my hair about the same as you do and do not have any issues using Quidad products.

I describe my hair in the same way and color regularly...I really LIKE these products. I use the conditioner, botanical boost, leave-in (I use this one less frequently than the boost and gel as it is thicker--it can also weigh down the curls if you use more than just a little--because of that it lasts longer than the rest), and the climate control gel (which is not sticky like others have been). I was honestly surprised to see any negative reviews on this one as I have had such success with the line. I suggest the Expert Curl Kit as I feel it is an excellent value. I have not found anything that works better and even enjoy the fragrances of the products; however, I have noticed no effect on my color and have to refresh it on the same schedule I have always used.

Ouidad is great for my high-lighted, color-treated hair! Until trying this product line, I had no idea the damage I was doing by using hair products with sulfates, which strip hair of both moisture and color. Ouidad products contain no sulfates, and drench curls with moisture without weighing them down. It's pricey stuff, but give the line a try by purchasing the packet of travel-sized products. You'll definitely want the full-sized products in no time!

I had the exact same experience and my hair sounds the same as yours. I used it all sorts of ways (on dry hair, on wet hair, before styling, skipping styling, etc.) and never got much of a "curl boost".

Try the Botanical Boost Infusing Spray !! Awesome and doesen't weigh my curls down like gels etc.

The Botanical Boost seemed to work well for me. Try using it while your hair is still damp, and don't crunch your hair after spraying it in... just lightly pat it in.

You might want to try one of her other products for your hair type... at her website she has a line of products for each curl and hair type.

I had the same experience you did: No noticeable difference when using this product. I even tried the gel and mouse by Quidad and those only made things worse. I have fine wavy color treated hair and have found the best thing to do when wearing it wavy is to use something silicon based like Frizease and let my hair air dry. Otherwise I blow it out straight.

I have wavy hair , if I use a mouse it seems to show the curl more, I thought by using quidad products it would work the same or better.

I think this is not the product for you since it is meant for detangling and prepping the hair for gel or mousse. I think a wave enhancing spray like the one from frederic fekkai or oscar blandi would work for you since they are light weigh and are specifically designed to enhance your waves. Hope this helps!

maybe try Ouidad's TrexFX gel.. its light, but does a better job of really creating curl-shape. Use on moist hair, then style. Personally, since I too have fine hair, I use Phytovolume Actif spray first then follow with TresFX...

This is really meant to reactivate any styling products that are already in your hair. It doesn't provide any hold or shine on its own.

No, I don't think that this product would be a heat protector. It is to refresh curls or as a detangler.

From one heat tool diva to another...no, you would be wasting money better to buy a product that indicates heat protection. I have tried this product and wouldnt recomend it for the price or as a heat protector for your hair. Hope this helps!

no it does not protect your hair from heat....be careful!!!! This is just to freshen up hair and make it alive after your hair dries.

This product is not meant to be used as a heat protector. It really is supposed to used with curly, not flat ironed hair according to the Ouidad salon that have gone to. Better to look for another product if you are flat ironing.

I would use it in addition to another product when curling or straightening. However this does stand alone quite well when blow drying. For curly styles, look at Ouidad's "Rake and Shake" technique to see how it is used.

I wouldn't recommend this as a heat protectant. Nothing in the formulation indicates that it is one. Try MorroccanOil or Argan Oil to tame frizz and protect from heat.

I would say it does have protective properties, but I wouldn't say it is best as a heat protector. You could spray it on after blow-drying to re-moisturize through.

I don't think it's intended to use before styling. Ouidad does have a gel designed to protect hair from heat and humidity, so maybe that might work better.

I don't use a curling iron, but I do blow dry a bit and my hair does not feel dried out at all. By itself I don't know how well it protects but with the humidity control gel, my curls are super healthy, even my hairdresser commented how good my hair felt.

You can use it in addition to something to protect your hair but I wouldn't depend on it to be the only product to protect your hair.

I did a direct comparison. I used to use that Ojon product too - which by the way they brought back the original formula. I think so many people were uphappy with their new version, they had to bring it back.
The Ouidad and Ojon products are very different. Ouidad is really used to refresh the products you already used. It's a lighter texture than Ojon and isn't as much of a treatment product. I think of it more as a finishing product , it reactivates any product that you've already used. It's good if you wash your hair the night before and use to freshen it in the morning or want to get a second day without washing your hair.
I see the Ojon product more as a treatment for damaged hair. It helped me with frizz and made my hair shiney (in a good way).
Bottom line, I think both are great products but they are for different uses. Hope this helps a little.

I haven't used both - but I really like this one. I am allergic to propylene glycol, which this contains, so I was hesitant to try it (my scalp doesn't seem to be affected, just the skin on my face by PG - so far this product hasn't bothered me).

I love it. It smells great, it activates my curls. I have fine somewhat ringletty curly hair (but I am not that curly from the scalp down, all over). It smells great, makes my hair soft and brings those curl patterns back to life if I haven't had time to wash my hair or I go out into the weather. I also use curl shaping sprays - I use the Living Proof one and I use a product from Kiehl's called Silk Groom - this really helps hold my curl pattern; the Living Proof seems to help define the curl. I put the silk groom in wet hair and then in warmer months air dry and add the Living Proof when my hair is almost/mostly dry. I do this with the blow dryer and diffuser now.

I think this is made to be more of a refresher than a styler, but I have used to to style my young daughter's hair and it gives it bounce and shine and helps cut down on fuzzies.

I am a former ojon mist user myself... and I purchased three different products to try. This one won hands down... Go for it! It's great!!!

I no longer us the Ojon products and much prefer Botanical Boost for my really curly color treated hair.

I like this product even better.

Highly recommend this product to replace Ojon. It does everything you described.

I personally use the Ouidad Boost Moisture Infusing and Refreshing Spray. Tried the Ojon line and was REALLY disappointed. I have very thick hair and it tends to be normal to dry. I did NOT want something that made my hair look greasy which is what OJON did. I would buy the sample pack that this mist is in to see if you like it. I would NOT be without it.
