Not certain why you are asking about butane...Butylene Glycol is a humectant.
The 'propellant' in the Temptu system is compressed air.
Ingredients that concern most die hard naturalists are present in nearly every commercial cosmetic formulation: Fragrance, Propylene Glycol, & SD Alcohol 40 - alongside the common preservatives - Diazolidinyl Urea, Propylparaben, and Methylparaben.
You'll also notice these are toward the end of the ingredient listing which is positive as ingredients are listed in descending order with regard to its importance/amount used.
The remaining ingredients consist of skin conditioners, emulsifiers, viscosity aids, and pigments. Overall it's a pretty safe formulation, gluten-free (I am Celiac and use this product), and is a stellar/fun/easy to use system.
If you want to go for more natural formulations you'd need to look at lines like Bare Escentuals, Laura Mercier, GloMinerals, and Jane Iredale - but even these lines have a few errant formulations.
Avoid formulations containing talc, silica, and ingredients with the word aluminum attached as they prevent pores from breathing and are lung irritants.
All the ingredients are listed under the Ingredients tab. The ingredients are as follows:
Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclomethicone, Isododecane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Peg/Ppg-18/18 Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Polyethylene, Silica, Propylene Glycol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Sd Alcohol 40, Diazolidinyl Urea, Propylparaben, Methylparaben, May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499).
