Question
Is Porcelain light enough for extremely fair skin?
I usually have issues with the lightest shade not being fair enough for my skin color. Have any other ghostly pale people tried the porcelain shade? I currently wear Kevyn Aucoin's Liquid Airbrush foundation in the lightest shade, LQ02, and it's one of the few foundations that matches my skin tone pretty well. I don't have a Sephora nearby so I can't try anything out in person.

I am extremely pale and I use the lightest shade (Porcelain). Depending on what time of year it is and how heavily I apply it, this can sometimes be a bit dark on me (basically, if I go heavy on the coverage in winter). But I am seriously pale!

The good thing is, though, that you can easily blend the color down on to your neck because of the airbrush application. If it ends up being a touch too dark, just be sure to shade the color down your neck and you should be fine. Also, be sure to set it with a truly colorless face powder- I love Urban Decay De-Slick.

I too, am ghostly pale, and use the #2 ivory, only because i prefer yellow undertones to counteract redness. Im sure that it will be fine. The airbrush makeup kind of blends into your skin, so that it wont be obvious anyway.

003 Warm Ivory. I think sand will be too dark for you. I'm NC20 and this color is a very good match.

Question
Will it leave skin dried out?
I've dealt with dry skin for a very long time. It seems like I cant even find a moisturizer for my skin..adding any type of foundation, cream or powder to my skin only seems to make it worse (not hide it). I've probably spent the last 5 years looking for coverup for my skin texture and type..any suggestions?

Appling foundation with any airbrush formula will not make your skin more or less dry than it normally is. That is the great thing about airbrush is that it lays so nice & thin on top of your skin. I've been airbrushing for a decade now & have not had dry patches since. I have SUPER dry skin. The thing is to choose the right formula that looks nice to you. None of them will make your skin dryer.

There are 3 formulas on the market today. Silicone based (Temptu, Kett), Water based (Temptu, Kett, Luminess, OCC, Dinair, Graftobian), and Alcohol based (Dinair). As you can see more companies are doing water based now as silicone looks greasy in HD where as water based gives a more matte look which is flattering in print & on camera.

Not certain why you are asking about butane...Butylene Glycol is a humectant.
The 'propellant' in the Temptu system is compressed air.
Ingredients that concern most die hard naturalists are present in nearly every commercial cosmetic formulation: Fragrance, Propylene Glycol, & SD Alcohol 40 - alongside the common preservatives - Diazolidinyl Urea, Propylparaben, and Methylparaben.
You'll also notice these are toward the end of the ingredient listing which is positive as ingredients are listed in descending order with regard to its importance/amount used.
The remaining ingredients consist of skin conditioners, emulsifiers, viscosity aids, and pigments. Overall it's a pretty safe formulation, gluten-free (I am Celiac and use this product), and is a stellar/fun/easy to use system.
If you want to go for more natural formulations you'd need to look at lines like Bare Escentuals, Laura Mercier, GloMinerals, and Jane Iredale - but even these lines have a few errant formulations.
Avoid formulations containing talc, silica, and ingredients with the word aluminum attached as they prevent pores from breathing and are lung irritants.

Sephora has a great return policy! You can try returning to your local Sephora store and explaining your problem. While there, you can test out the entire line of Temptu Foundation colors, as well as Blush and Highlighter, in order to find your perfect match!

Question
Shelf life
What's the shelf life on these last until you need to throw them out? I'm thinking about buying the entire system with the different foundations to do my friends/cousins make up when need be, but I'm a little hesitant to spend that much money before I actually find out how long these last. Thanks =)

Bacteria is an unfortunate inevitability in all products where water is an ingredient.
As with most every cosmetic product you should keep it 1 year max and toss it - even if it has an expiration date - even if it advertises hygienic pod.
Resist the temptation to save money by keeping it longer. Not only does the shade change over time (due to oxidation) but bacteria will be present in numbers enough to cause skin problems in individuals with dry and/or sensitive skin and most especially in those prone to acne.

Temptu makeup left unused will last up to 12 months; just remember to shake well before use. Once opened and used, we recommend makeup is discarded after 4 - 6 months.

Question
I have the warm ivory now and it is way too yellow for me. What should I try next?
I don't have a Sephora store close. I did go there to try the product out and they suggested I buy the warm ivory. Now I look way too yellow. I don't know what to try next. I definitely don't want anything with yellow undertones. Any suggestions?

The Warm Ivory was formulated for light skin with pink undertones....not certain why it seems too yellow? Sand would certainly be too yellow if you're having this prob with WI.
Those are your only two options in the light skin family.
Your other options in the pink undertone category are porcelain or beige so you'll have to decide if you should make a move up or down the brightness spectrum.
I'd suggest going with Porcelain as it's easier to warm skin up a bit with a light dust of powder or bronzer than it is to lighten over a foundation that's too dark.

I used MAC's NW20 in the winter and NW25 in the summer...Sand is my match.
If you are cooler you might want to go with one of Temptu's foundations with beige/pink undertones as Sand features a yellow/golden undertone.
I am a fair skinned Native American.
