Question
Eyeliner doesn't come out very well
I just bought a brown doe eyed felt eyeliner. It is my first experience with felt eyeliners and it seems as if there is not enough coming out. I looked for a way to twist it out but there isn't any way I can see.

I was looking for a good natural brown liquid liner and picked this up from the Sephora store in town because it had a really easy application and was smudge proof. However, when I got it home I couldn't get any color to come out no matter how much I shook it (like a felt tip marker). I found that if you're in a hurry and need the color to come out quickly, you can do two things. One is using tweezers to pull out the felt tip. It's actually double sided so you can pull it out and turn it around so the side that is saturated in color is sticking out. The other is dipping it in a little bit of water and shaking it for a couple seconds with the cap on. WARNING: if you do this without the cap, you WILL end up with ink all over you and the wall ( I found this out the hard way). Other than that, it's pretty long lasting and comes off well using makeup remover.

I had the same problem. What I do is tap it or shake it (not too much) like when you're trying to get a pen to write. Its basically a felt tip pen anyway! (But I have shaken a felt tip pen too hard and gotten ink all over the place...so "gently" is the key). Good luck :)

The liner is like a maker so if you do a few practice swipes on the back of your hand, it should get the liquid to flow out easily. I ran into the same problem, but it was easily fixed by doing this. Also, to answer your question if it will last long, I have used the liner with and without a lid primer and both times it stayed very well without turning into a Tammy Fey Wynett look. I think you'll be happy with the overall result.

It's amazing! It has so much staying power! It will not wear off or smudge all over your eyes! I even went dancing and I always have trouble with my eyeliner staying but this one cane through for me! Hope it's of any use to you!

It is much like a small marker, and you cannot twist it out. Be cautious, because it can smudge in a big way when you DON'T want it to, but when you try to remove it later, it just will NOT come off, no matter what you try. I still have some on my face from two days ago! I was embarrassed!

I wasn't a fan of the brown one as much as the black. In order to make it last longer, store it "standing" with the felt tip on the bottom so it's always ready to use!

Try applying it from the side of the felt pin rather than the tip. Lay the side of the pen on your eye lid and it works beautifully. Good luck.

Yeah, I had the same problem with the doe eye liner. Honestly, I had better luck with grocery brand felt tips... but if you want a quality alternative try Stilla's waterproof liquid liner. It is also in pen form, so it is easy to apply, but it has much darker application and wears all day instead of just a couple hours.

Angle the product slightly so that more of the entire tip is being used (versus just using the fine point tip). That will make a big difference.

Question
How's the pigmentation and staying power?
I love felt tip liners because they're easy to work with, but the ones I've used in the past were either not pigmented enough or smeared all over the place. Will this liner stay put on oily lids and last an eight-hour shift at work, or will I end up looking like Alice Cooper circa Welcome to My Nightmare? Also, is this shade of black a true black?

I think the color is a pretty rich black. It doesn't last all day, but I don't get the smeared Alice Cooper look with it. I apply it, then use the tip of my ring finger to remove any extra if I need to.

Hi! Not sure about the black as I purchased the khaki colour, but trust me, it lasts all day (and then some). Just be sure to let it dry well when you apply it before adding mascara etc. And also be sure to have a good waterproof eye makeup remover, cuz this product needs it!

This liner stays in place well and I have such oily lids that if I don't use a primer (smashbox) I have stinging irritation even without any makeup on after a long day. A good primer is key; and next I'm going to try double wear shadow by este lauder.

The pigmentation of this eyeliner is great. if you want it darker all you have to do is add a second coat and it works fabulous. As for how long it stays on... I live in Florida, it gets hot in the clubs and when I check my makeup I never have to worry about my eyeliner. I look good and I know it!!! LOL

I have oily eyelids too and this eyeliner works pretty well for me. It think it should last an 8 hour shift at work. I apply it when I wake up and by the end of the day it's still there and hasn't smudged (unless I rub my eyes).

The pigment is pretty good, I would say it is a true black.

I think the black is a true black, but if the temperature is above 65 degrees in your office, don't try this for the eight-hour work day. You might end up like I did (at my nephew's indoor graduation and luncheon) with your whole eyelid covered in navy blue! And it takes a miracle to remove it all when you DO want to take it off. I looked as if I had been beaten up for a few days! Be cautious with this product.

answer 10
Yes this eye liner will last all day without smudging or ending up below your eyes or on the bottom of your face. The only way I can get this eyeliner off is with hot water and face wash. So staying power should not be an issue for you. Also the true black is truly black. The pigmentation is really good for this eyeliner. At the least the black one because thats the one I have.

I agree sounds like a product failure. My sister uses this eyeliner all of the time. The only thing she's ever complained about is when they switch applicators, because it doesn't go on the same. She's never had one dry out after 2 weeks of use.

Yep, this is not Sephora's best product. It is very much like a small "Magic Marker" and it can smudge badly. But then when you try to remove it later, it is like a tattoo. I tried everything. I love Sephora's line, but won't use this one again. Too risky.

Question
I have trouble removing all the color.
I love the Doe Eyed Felt Eyeliners. I have the green and the blue. The colors are bold and beautiful. But when it comes to taking off the eyeliner I run into trouble. Most of the color comes off, but there is always a shadow of color left around my eyes. I have tried soap and warm water followed by a moisturizer. Still a shadow. I have used eye makeup remover. Still a shadow. Any suggestions?

True, this does not come off easly. That and it's rich black color are its best features. The best eye makeup removers are 1)the Sephora pads (I sometimes dip a q-tip in the jar to get close to my lashes) or The Loreal. Apply generously (one eye at a time, you may want to keep it closed until done) with one end then after a moment, follow up with the other end. Use a twirling motion.

Hope it helps.

You'll have to shake it really hard (make sure the cover is on or the fluid will go everywhere). Although not fail proof, you may want to store it upside down, so the tip is down. That way at least it won't dry out as much.
