i wouldn't use this as a setting powder. your face might end up looking like an oil slick. definitely just use this on areas that would naturally be highlighted.

I would not use this to set makeup. This is a highlighter. One swipe across your forehead. One down your nose and over your blush. Id use this under brows and and small amount on the chin. glow!

This powder is VERY brightening, so I wouldn't recommend it as a setting powder unless you are prepared to have highlight/sparkles/shimmering skin every day (which I am, so I do use it as that).

sure you can put it all over your face for a wonderful glow and yes it would set your foundation and stop movement or slide.

No, I would not put this over the entire face. It could look freakishly shiny all over. This is really just for adding a reflective glow around your eyes, cheekbones, bridge of nose, maybe also a tiny dab on your chin and forehead. I always apply highlighters after my setting powder and before my blush.

I personally definitely would not use it as a finishing powder for all over. Just use it as a highlighter and the impact will be great.

i have light skin with yellow undertones and it's perfect. i think it would be great on fair skins too.

I am also very pale. I always take the lightest color foundation. This works great for me.

It's a champagne sort of color. I think it would flatter just about any skin tone, but to be sure, I would go to sephora and swatch it.

I wouldn't worry about the shade. It's a very sheer, sheer wash of gold, but this highlighter is for adding REFLECTION more than for giving color. Use it to bounce some light around your eyes by applying to your browbone, inner- eye corner, and tops of you cheekbones. Then give a light sweep down the bridge of your nose and touch on the chin.

It's translucent, and neutral. I think this product would work well for light to medium toned complexions.

that is the great thing about this product. it's not glittery at all. just a very subtle shimmer that gives you a candlelit glow.

its natural shimmer i apply just above hight cheekbone and also below cheek colour cupids bow and down middle of nose and on the chin, it doesnt look oily and gives a very natural youthful glow to the skin also it photographs amazing, i have a million shimmers and myself and may other makeup artists friends all have this in our kits simply because it does its job.

I also have very pale skin and I use this product every day. This isn't the type of product to use all over the face or applied heavily. The shimmer isn't too glittery and the effect is a nice, softly shimmering highlighter for cheekbones and eyes.

It's not glittery at all. It's shimmery, which to me, is different. I think it would look lovely on pale skin, it's sort of a universal color, I think. It's sort of a champagne/pale gold.

Not at all glittery. It's more like a frost that is that has the ability to blend very easily. So you can use it as a highlighter, shadow, or a light healthy glow finish.

i think it looks better on youthful skin actually. you can also use it as an eyeshadow base and highlight color. it's a must have in my opinion.

It's designed to be a highlight, which would go on your cheekbones to catch the light and give you a subtle glow. It would look good at any age, I personally love it. It can also be used as an eyeshadow or on your body for shimmer wherever you might want it. It's a good product and I recommend it.

I have fair skin and it adds an extra something that I love. THis stuff is awesome and I wear it almost everyday. I can dress it up or down.

since all skin is different i can't answer that question. but i do get rosacea and this product does not make me break out at all. and i don't think it has oil in it.

I have super sensitive skin and it hasn't made me break out and I've used it pretty much everyday for three weeks..

It's a powder. I doubt it would break you out, it didn't break me out at all, but I have dry skin. I don't think it would unless you put it all over your face, but that's not really what this is made for.

since it is a powder i would apply it over foundation with a brush.

I use a big blush brush after I've put on contour (w/ a contour brush) and blush (w/ a smaller blush brush). It's great--put it on the top of your chhekbones and on the inside area of your face (by your nose)

I've found that a fluffy kabuki-like brush works the best. Something with bristles that aren't too dense as if might leave too much product on your cheeks.

I apply it with a brush over my foundation, loose powder, and bronzer.

Use a brush with a light hand! Its easier to add more then trying to remove some!

I think Mary Lou is more pigmented and a softer powder, because it can be used on your face or eyes. While the Too Faced is just a face powder and is much harder pressed in the compact. The only downside is Mary Lou can break if it's dropped. Mine has never broken. You can also often find this on sale, and I've never seen the Candlelight on sale.

I have both products & enjoy using the Mary-Lou more than the Candlelight. I found the Candlelight to be more of powder, with more glitter. The Mary-Lou seems to have a creamier finish and shimmer, not necessarily glitter. With Mary-Lou, I can simply use my finger for application & get a great result.

The difference between Mary-Lou Manizer and Too Faced's Candlelight is that Mary- Lou is a lot more shimmery than the Candlelight. I also find it smoother than the Candlelight powder. While I love lots of shimmer, even the Mary-Lou is a little too shimmery and a little goes a long way so you have to be careful how much you use. In my opinion, it shows up a lot more than the Candlelight. I do love this highlighter, but I prefer Too Faced's Candlelight because it gives a softer, more natural highlight to your face. They are both great products; but if you want lots of shimmer go for Mary-Lou and if you want more natural, go for Candlelight. Also, both have a little tendency to look a little white on the skin if too much is used (even on my light skin), more so Mary-Lou; so if you have tan or darker skin, you might want to try in a store before buying.

In my opinion, the Candlelight Powder is a lighter, less impact-full version of the Mary-Lour Manizer. They both are sheer and shimmer, but the Candlelight could be dusted over your entire face as a finishing product, whereas the Manizer you would want to concentrate on your cheekbones, browbones, or anywhere you want a more intense highlight.

I own both. Two Faced's product is great for a warm glow. It has real gold in it, and you can tell. Manizer is more of a moonlight glow. it's also not quite as sheer as Candlelight, but it has more uses. They are both great though!

A fan brush!

lightly with the fingers, or with a brush that doesn't have very dense bristles. make sure that you're light handed though -it's a really pigmented product

Seems to work better as a shadow when applied with fingertips and as a highlighter applied with a brush. A large powder brush worked just fine for me. :)

This would probably be best applied with fingers or a stiff brush where the bristles are straight, not fluffy or angled. I used it with a straight brush and it looked good.

I use a big fluffy brush, shake off the excess and lightly sweep over my face. Works great for me!

I'd do a fan brush for a fine highlight, or a very soft blush brush for a bit more coverage...

there are many different brushes you can use. you can use a fan brush, which concentrates the highlighter right where you want it. a lot of the time i will just use my blush or powder brush. hope this helps!

A little goes a long way so to avoid TOO much shimmer, I use a fan brush.

It's not chalky at all, so it's super easy to apply on ANY skin tone- the only time I'd use the bronzer as a highlighter instead (betty-lou manizer) would be on the darkest espresso to ebony skin tones

This highlighter doesn't change the color of your skin...unless you go over board with the shimmer. its a pretty, subtle glow to anyone's cheeks whether you have dark skin or not! "(:

It's universal up to medium skin tones, but Betty Lou highlighting bronzer might be a better shade for olive skin.
