Questions & Answers for LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant

Question
What is in it?
The description says what is not in the LAVANILLA healthy deo, but it doesnt specify what IS in it. I understand that it is not an antipersperant, but I also wanted to make sure there is no alluminum in it, since that is not specified as well. Please send me more info, thanks!

The fragrance is moderate. I can smell it enough when I put it on that I don't want to wear perfume. It smells a lot better than the LaVanila perfume I bought anyway, which smells like a Mr. Freeze - uck.

The smell is fairly subtle - it smells sort of like soap, but it does leave the smell slightly on your clothes

it's a little strong, but it fades with time. Fragrance isn't as "fresh" as I would like and I plan to try the other fragrances offered sometime.

I purchased the pure vanilla scent. It is a little strong and more masculine than I expected. The Sephora I purchased from only had the vanilla lavendar available as a tester so I was unable to smell the pure vanilla prior to purchasing. I am going to exchange the pure vanilla and try either the vanilla coconut or vanilla lavender because the pure vanilla scent is just too strong and masculine for me.

It's just a deodorant, not an antiperspirant, so no smell but you may sweat still. All natural means letting your body sweat, and just covering your BO with the lovely Vanilla/Lavendar scent.

I could not make it through a day at home doing anything more acvtive than the laundry without a deodorant failure, so I would definitely not recommed this for the gym - or anyplace else.

Question
Is it right for me?
I get red irritated, itchy rashes from even supermarket clinical deoderants like Secret and Dove, I've even tried the regular ones with no scent, but I have absolutely no allergies.
And I'm still finding that I get really irritated rashes.
I'm a bit skeptical on trying these kinds of deoderants because of the price.
Would this work for me, or still leave me itching all day?

Do you shave or have had laser hair removal? You could be sensitive to the constant shaving which is causing the redness and discomfort. I have extremely sensitive skin and this product is fantastic, no discomfort!

I also have easily irritated skin. Most deodorants don't make me itch, but some do. I've found that a natural deodorant by a company called Alvera and the Crystal performed better than this one and are about 1/3 of the price. I don't think any of them offer "long-lasting" results and none of them are as effective as anti-perspirants (which is what the drug store clinical versions are - very different from deodorants). When I had an itchy rash under my arms before, I used the roll on made by the Crystal and it worked well in terms of odor control. I had to use it more often than an anti-perspirant, but my rash cleared up without further irritation. Considering the price difference, I'd recommend that one over this any day of the week.

Absolutely - my husband wears the pure vanilla (on men it smells like a deep creamy powdery scent and it really is gender neutral).

Question
Problem with turn dial on bottom of product
The last 2 tubes of this deodorant that I have received have had problems with the turn dial thingy that raises the deodorant. Has any one else had this problem & if so, what do I do about it? I have already used it & threw away the return shipping label so I can't send it back. But I paid $18 for a stick of deodorant that I'm not going to be able to use if I don't figure this out. Please help! Thanks :)

I had the same problem too, and called customer service for assistance. They were aware of the problem, and quickly sent a replacement at no charge. I just had to send back the defective one, also at no cost to me. The new one I received works fine!

Actually, discolorations in the underarm are of shirts are caused by sweat, not deodorant. Other than water, the other things in sweat like enzymes, fatty acids, bacteria, etc are what causes discoloration. So if you prevent the sweat you'll prevent the stains

Have not seen any yellowing on my white t-shirts. Also haven't noticed white on my black items. Have only been using it a couple weeks so it could be that it takes more time/exposure to produce the effect, though

Question
do you think it will stop the sweat smell
I don't have a sweating issue, which is good, but i do have the sweat smelling issue. Regular antiperspirants leave me smelling like sweaty perfume, yuck. So far the only product that has stopped the sweaty smell is the Rock, (salt rock), but i have to apply it for a while, rub rub rub. Worth not smelling though. I am looking for somehthing else that is more apply and go. Do you think this will hold up like the salt rock, or do you think i will end up smelling like sweaty vanilla?

I think if you apply to clean, dry underarms this should work for you. Make sure underarms are completely dry after showering or any residual wetness will diminish the product. Good Luck!

I personally, didn't have any problems with the sweat/product mixture smell. After the smell of the orginal scent was gone...I noticed that I was still dry and had no odor!! Mind you, I was outside with my kids in the sun. It's very hot and humid in the south. This product is excellent!
