I'm not sure if it is oil free, but I have T-zone oilyness and this doesn't make my skin oiler. It also stays on really well.

After using fair for a little while i noticed that it was a touch too pink/dark for me so i switched to Alabaster and I much prefer that one. It matches my neck better.

Yes, fair is a pink shade. It's pretty light and it matches my light skin with pink undertones quite well.

Question
who really answers these questions?
When I posted a question, I assumed from the way the website was designed that you had a team of professionals from Clinque who were qualified to speak about this line of cosmetics. Now I see it is just the general public answering the questions from their own experience. If I post a question, I want a professional answer from a Clinque expert, not someone who just uses the product. Guess I should stick with my local dept store.

If you want answers to Clinique product questions then you might want to go to Clinique online. I personally benefit from answers at Sephora and from those who actually use the products.
Some Clinique technicians are not experts on all the products. I have asked questions of Clinique reps in the department stores and they do not know the answer.
Often, the answers are right here. Sephora customer service persons have hundreds of line of cosmetics that they could not possibly answer every question. If you can't find an answer go to the website of the brand you are inquiring about, it is the best way to get answers on specific products in my experience.

Question
Linen vs. Alabaster?
I see that Linen is a new color. The Alabaster was too yellow for my superfair skin, porcelain with slight pink undertones. Will the Linen be better?

I agree that Alabaster is too orange-y. I have fair/light skin with pink undertones and thought this was the best shade at the time, but I am on the hunt for something better.

When this first came out Albaster was the lightest shade. I was matched to it and loved it. Then began noticing in daylight outside that I looked orange. I thought it was my powder so bought the lighter one (almost powder) and it is ghost white on me. Finally found out it was the Even Better because I squeezed some out on my hand and forgot to take it off, it left an orange spot. I tried Linen today and it seems to match much better for me. The Linen is not as pink, more of a yellow/neutral undertone. I have natural auburn red hair and blue eyes but instead of the normal pinky undertones most have I have yellow. I hope that helps :)

I think using your fingers or using a stippling brush would be the best way to apply it. When you use your fingers, the heat from your fingers helps the foundation blend into your skin. And when you use a stippling brush, it gives you a flawless finish and medium to full coverage without looking cakey.

I use my fingers. Makeup brushes can leave streaks and sponges soak up the foundation so I just use my fingers.

I've used it with a makeup wedge, which works fine... I've also started using it with the new Sephora Air Brush #55 which is good too. It takes a tad more effort with the brush because the foundation is a little thick, but it's worth it.

I have an olive complexion and purchased the Creme Caramel. It is a perfect shade when my arms and legs have color. It might be slightly darker than I need otherwise. However, as I mentioned in my review, on sunny days I mix with a little sunscreen (one that has zinc oxide), so the color actually lightens a bit.

I would look at the colors that are offered. I would stick with honey or a color right below honey as the makeups with SPF tend to get a bit darker once applied to the skin.

Go to a department store and have them find the right color then ask for a sample, try it, and if you like it, buy it at Sephora. It may seem like a hassle but it saves money in the long run.

I have combo skin with my t-zone being a little more oily.I find that it does tend to get slick looking on me after a few hours in the t-zone area.It is also a more medium coverage which may be alitttle heavy for oily skin.

pretty well
though there will still be a very tiny bit of shine, it doesn't run the foundation down my face nor make me feel sticky at the end of the day!
careful if you use blotting sheets because the sheets will not only soak up the oil but remove a lot of the foundation...

Question
Is there a lighter color than ivory that is not as pink as alabaster?
I wear ivory in summer, but I need a shade paler than that. I also have alabasterm but it is too pink and actually not much lighter than ivory. Why does Clinique create such dark colors? If I had to describe my skin tone, it's hardly fair, but I'm always looking for a lighter color!

The sale rep recommend alabaster to me after testing me with 4 other colors at my jaw line, but I thought it was too light . I have a lot of redness so this tones it down. It went on like a china doll face white, but once it set, it blended with my redness and looked very good.
