It's not actually "bleach," its peroxide. I believe peroxide opens up your hair shaft allowing natural hair pigments out and artificial pigments in (the actual dye). So there's no bleach in this product. Bleach products are usually in packets, int he form of powder that you mix with developer.

I have always thought that there was some sort of "bleach" product in any hair dye which lightens your hair or is a lighter shade - although admittedly, I am not certain about this. I have used many at home hair colors (and have had many salon treatments), and this product did leave my hair feeling very conditioned.

Depends on how fast your hair grows. With this productg I notice roots show before the color of your hair fades/grays show thru. So since you only apply color to the new growth--just color roots when they show thru. Don't apply to whole head even for the recommended 10 minutes every time--maybe every other or third time depending on how fast the product fades on you. How fast the product fades depends on whether you are using color safe products and how porous you hair is.

This answer really depends upon the condition of your hair and what color process you intend on using. The general rule is 6-8 weeks, however adhering to this will not deter your hair from breaking. The best motto is to color it as little as possible. Incorporating a few colors into your highlights help to blend in your natural color when your hair grows. This process allows you to avoid coloring it more much longer. A single or double process, however, shows roots almost immediately and makes it difficult to stay out out of the salon!!!

Question
Want to Go Lighter
Was: Flat Beige Blond months ago - have been using Fekkai 7W Dark Golden Blond. Results just like on the box. Only problem - me. I have predominately grey hair and in 4 weeks I look like a "skunk" with the grey contrast. Blond works better. "I liked me blonder". Thinking about this color (8 N Medium Blond) or even lighter (10 W). Some concerns because now I have a bronzy (not brassy) dark golden blond color with some red. Fekkai is reliable though about not getting strange and brassy colors. Which blond to use and how light to go to start?

Go to Oprah. com and look up article called Haircoloring 101. It explains how to use two colors to blend a more natural look. Also try using color safe products and shampoo less frequently so it doesn't pull your color out. You can wet and condition your hair daily--just shampoo a couple times a week if your hair is not the oily type.

Any chemical is going to dry your hair out. It's a chemical you are damaging it! The upside to buying this color versus say something from Sally's is they give you the 3 minute hair mask! Which is not the best smelling thing I've come across but, works pretty darn well!

I don't think so. The color is a light blond. I was afraid it would come out dark brown and I have very light hair and wanted to go one shade lighter. If you go to a regular drugstore and look at Loreal 8N that is the color it is. To me, it looks like the girl on the box got highlights. If I was you, I would be afraid of my hair turning orange, but that's just my opinion. I'm obviously not a professional stylist. Good Luck!!
