Sephora sells a variety of sharpeners that work perfectly. Look for one that contains the shavings in an enclosed section, plus one that has a duo size. They're very inexpensive and last until they get lost. Sephora makes as nice duo sharpener as does NARS and UD (Grind House). DuWop had a great duo sharpener, too, that sanitizes tips as it sharpens. I've found a good sharpener with really sharp blades protects from product loss and drag caused by poor sharpeners or dull blades.

The Make Up For Ever one is actually waterproof, so in theory it lasts longer than the Smashbox one. But oil will break down any makeup, so if you have an oily lipstick or gloss over it, or even eat a salad with vinaigrette, etc. it will eventually come off.

I'm not a pro but in my opinion smashbox liner does stay on longer and I'm a constant lip licker.

I personally haven't used Makeup forever but I was really happy with the lasting ability of the smashbox liner.

I think the smashbox last longer for me. I love the nude smashbox liner in fair it has a beautiful slight pink shade to it. very flattering. I do however think that the makeup forever lipsticks last an amazing time . I really like the fovermakeup lip shades in # 30 and #31. Hope this helps

I have tried both brands, and in my opinion, I prefer the Smashbox for staying power.

I use the light shade. It's cooler and more towards the pink withoout adding very much color. The Fair did not work well for my coloring. In Makeup I usually wear medium but I am more on the lighter side than you maybe

I would try the light one. You sound a little darker than me, but if you are looking for no orange, go for the light lip liner.
