I don't know if I can say it's really easy to clean, I use it with Make up forever Full Cover waterproof concealer (just a little applied) and with Tarte Smooth Operator Tinted Moisturizer and when I try to wash it it gets all creamy and still stained. I tried washing it with different products without any results.

On the positive side, it doesn't crump at all.

I love the sponge, still use it, but for me it doesn't wash well

Yes, it is washable. I have washed it a few times and it still looks new. But I did buy another one for backup, in case it is ever discontinued. I imagine it would last 6 months or more with daily use.

Question
Can this be used to apply powder foundation?
Can this be used dry to apply a powder foundation? I have a wonderful powder foundation that cannot be used wet, and I prefer a sponge/wedge application versus a brush. I would love to find a great non-disposable sponge just for this purpose. Thank you so much!

Yes! I use this dry to pat on powders. I like the result MUCH better than using a powder brush. Brushes can mini-exfoliate the skin a bit and cause flakies. Then the makeup looks really cakey. This sponge is awesome for powder.

I have better luck with the type of liquid foundation I use, if the sponge is slightly damp. It gives me a better finish and blendability. However, if the sponge is too wet----not good. Just damp.

You can if you like. The finish is a little different with the sponge dry versus wet. Your result depends a lot on the foundation you use. But you can use this damp if you want.

Hi,

You can do either. Wetting seems to help get better application, but some products don't do well when wet. I always practice with new sponges and applicators in advance to see what works and what doesn't. I've made some doozies of errors but at least it hasn't been when I need to be somewhere. These are exceptional sponges.

How does this compare to Beauty Blender sponge?

This sponge is very different compared to a beauty blender. If your looking for a great applicator buy this sponge. Very soft and provides excellent coverage. The Beauty Blender is best used for finishing touches. you ROLL it across your face after youve applied all of your products and it makes your skin appear flawless and your pores appear invisible

I had purchased the beauty blender prior to this sponge. I did not like the beauty blender, as it was very awkward and hard to manage. It also soaked up too much product.

Similar in blendability... i know i invented that word but it works well with everything I use it on, cream blushes, Full coverage foundation and occasionally body makeup... the more expensive egg shaped version is amazing but i find that its cost is not outweighed but its versatility...

Not like it at all. Flat, and way thinner. Not a bad sponge, just not the dimensions and angles and points of the BB. More like the thickness of the round sponges that you can buy to replace the ones that come with compact foundation. A better sponge than that, but if you're looking for a substitute for the BB, this is not it.

I hope this is not the replacement for the Beauty Blender because it's horrible. I still have my hot pink egg sponge and love it but I know it won't last forever. I haven't seen the Beauty Blender so I tried this one. It may be ok for powder or cream, but all it did with my liquid foundation is absorb it all and then wouldn't release onto my face. I use Cle de Peau and at $115 a tube, I'm not wasting it!
