Questions & Answers for Kate Somerville Micro Glycolic Polisher

Question
How the Micro GLYCOLIC Polisher different from the Micro LACTIC Polisher?

I have both and the lactic is gentler. The glycolic has both glycolic and lactic in it and is still pretty gentle, but gives better results. I have sensitive skin and love both products, particularly the glycolic. Also the lactic is runnier so the glycolic is easier to use.

I think the Lactic is supposed to be gentler. My skin isn't exactly sensitive, but it is very acne prone and the Glycolic Polisher caused me no irritation whatsoever.

It is about 20%, which is very mild unless you have sensitive skin. I did not peel from this product. I now use 35 - 50% glycolic peels.

Question
If you have used other glycolic products could you use this?
I have sensitive dry skin. I have been using the Lactic acid polisher for a while with no problems but I'm not getting that much of a change so I was looking to try the stronger version. Some products bother me but Im not sure whats in them that aggravate my skin. I have used other glycolic products in the past with no irritation.

I think you can use it. I have sensitive skin and have had good results with glycolic peels (this one is about as good as the professional ones I've had). I have this and the lactic polisher and this one definitely gives better results and doesn't irritate my skin.

Over time it will help with the acne scars, especially if the scars are pink (brown ones are harder to get rid of). It's not a miracle product (but it works about as well as most professional treatment peels I've had).

answer 2
Acne scars are the result of inflammation that causes infected pores to collapse, allowing oil and bacteria to spill into areas beneath the skin. Irritated tissues become red and painful, and swelling can develop under the skin. Even after the breakout subsides, the redness remains in the form of acne scars.

Using this polisher 1-2 times a week, in conjunction with an acne scar treatment program will help to resurface & restore skin, reduce inflammation & redness, and fight against free-radical damage. For personalized product recommendations & application tips, we invite you to call us at 1-877-SEPHORA & choose menu option 2 to speak with one of our Beauty Advisors. Thanks!

Question
How does this work?
I just got the product and I'm not sure if I'm using it right. I put 4 pumps on a cotton ball and swiped it all over my face like a toner. The product absorbed into my skin and I didn't feel a "tingling" feeling like I thought I would. I washed it off after 5 min but there wasn't really anything to wash off since it already absorbed into my skin. Am I doing something wrong?

That's exactly how I've been using it. I also follow with a moisturizer, as the directions say to do. I expected a burn or at least a tingle, but haven't felt anything. However, after four weekly applications, I am seeing real & lasting results. Just seems to be in increments, with my skin looking a little better every week. I'd also recommend a mild exfoliant right before using, so it gets to your skin and doesn't sit on any flaky patches (I use my regular cleanser, but with a couple of those exfoliating cotton pads from a local drugstore). Hope that helps.

answer 2
The Micro Glycolic Polisher is extremely gentle so you shouldn't have a tingling feeling after application.

SUGGESTED USAGE:
-Dispense 2-4 pumps on a cotton pad and apply to clean, dry skin.
-Leave on for 2-5 minutes.
-Remove with warm water.
-Use once or twice a week.
-Follow with moisturizer and sunscreen.
-For optimal results, use in conjunction with ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment.
-Use Micro Glycolic Polisher to "peel" away a micro layer of the surface skin cells.
-Follow up 3-4 days later, using ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment to dissolve the dead cells.

We hope this answers your question!

I am using this 2x a week for the last three weeks and I have not made a dent in the bottle. Using it 2x a week, I can see it lasting 6 months, on the conservative side. So for 1x a week, I can definitely see the potential in stretching this product out for a year. At least 9 months.

I would guess 5 -6 months on average. If you use a few pumps like I did, twice a week, it will last maybe 4 months.
