I haven't tried it on dry hair. The instructions say to use it on towel dried hair. Since it's on the thick side out of the bottle I would think it would be difficult to evenly distribute through your hair if you use it on dry hair.

no - think it has to coat the hair when it's wet since it doesn't work by weighing down the hair, rather by refining its consistency.

Hi, So glad you purchased this...you will LOVE IT! I apply product when my hair is still damp and then I brush through hair to make sure it is evenly distributed. If I am going to let hair air dry, I am finished. However, if I am going to continue styling, I apply a product to protect hair against thermal damage then I blow dry and straighten! Viola! Beautiful and Gorgeous, Stright, Frizz Free Hair!

Hi there,
after you wash your hair, I advise you to put in a little bit of the styling cream, into your palms and then slightly run your fingers through your damp hair. When you're done, comb your hair and distribute a little more so every section of your hair gets evenly distribution of the product.
Let it air-dry for a little while and then blowdry it, using a round brush. Your hair will be shiny and very lightweight, trust me:-).

Yes, it can help you to make naturally wavy hair straight. All you need to do is use it on damp hair and blow-dry with a brush. It enhances the process. It will not "magically" make your hair straight, but it makes it SO much easier!!!!

The product alone does not make wavy hair straight; its primary use is to keep your hair frizz free. So my recommendation, if you have wavy hair and you want to wear it straight, would be to apply No Frizz Styling Cream for Straight Hair to your hair when it's damp. Brush it through to evenly distribute and then add product to protect against heat damage, if you choose. THEN, blow dry and straighten with straitening iron...this product will keep all the hard work you do in front of the mirror in tact for all to see!!! So, again, it does not make your hair straight, it KEEPS it straight! :)

Hi there,
Sylv/Sylvai here, happy to try to help ya out.

I'll let you know what works for me .
Upon getting out of the shower, i blot any excess water from my hair.
I then apply a quarter sized amount of the product.
Then , quickly begin to blow dry my hair straight with a large round brush.
When it's dry, i run a hair iron through quickly.
Once i have done all of the above, i put a small amount of Living Proof to top it all off.
You might also want to try:
washing hair
applying product
blow dry hair straight
apply more product
put hair in a large braid, or small braids all over.
or twist hair up for 10-15 mnts.
release, it leaves my hair smooth like or wavy with the braids.
I hope this might help you out.
It think overall that it depends upon one's hair texture, legnth, and condition. Try different amounts of the product, on both wet and dry hair.

I still have to style my hair with a round brush and blow dryer. Sometimes I use a hot iron too but my hair is very frizzy and naturally curly. Once its set though, it will stay that way instead of frizzing as soon as I walk out the front door into humidity.

Try using more! I just got a sample from the store (I'm not sure if you have ever had one from the store, but its a small container, kind of like a mini lip gloss.) I used the whole thing on my long/medium strands and it worked wonders! I'd try using more before giving up on this product :)!

Question
Need to use a heat/thermal protector too?
I just bought the 'No Frizz' styling cream (med to thick) and a Sephora staff member had advised to use a 'leave in conditioner' first and then the 'No Frizz' cream before styling. I'm wondering, do we also need to use a thermal/heat protector with the 'No Frizz'? If so, should it be before or after applying 'No Frizz'. Just sounds like a lot of products.

I would always recommend using a thermal/ heat protector. To cut down on products, as you mention, I use a spray, leave in conditioner that is also a thermal/ heat protector. Having a product that serves as leave in conditioner and protects hair from heat eliminates that third product! So, to recap- when hair is damp, apply leave in conditioner/ heat protector THEN apply No Frizz Styling Cream and brush through for even distribution, then style as desired! Viola!

Yes, I do advise to use some kind of leave-in spray or conditioner first (what you would use with your daily hair routine, for example) and use the styling cream afterwards. For extra hydration, try e.g. Herbal Essences Leave-in Creme "non of your frizzness" and comb your hair when it's still damp. Thereafter, use the styling creme and try to evenly distribute it throughout your whole hair. Comb through your hair again and let it air-dry for a little while. Then start with blow-drying by using a round brush.

I think it will. I have thick but fine, lightly wavy hair that is constantly frizzy. This product (for thick and coarse hair) works amazingly well. I put it on my wet hair and comb it through. It works perfectly.

It also seems gentle, so even though my hair is color treated, this does not dry it out. My hair looks like I style it, and my frizz has practically disappeared thanks to No Frizz for Medium to Thick Hair.

Most probably this particular product will not work on your hair as well as on others. This is mainly because, as it says on the bottle, it is for medium to thick hair. Another product from this line that is specifically labeled to your hair type will work better. I have used this product on my medium hair, and it works very well, although i do use a smaller amount then recommended. Try the spray for your light hair!

towel dry your hair after washing and conditioning. Then rub it in all over, you can't use too much. Then use a large tooth comb and distribute it. Blow drying actually helps it shine more. Check out their video on the web site. Very instructional.

Wash your hair and towel dry like normal. Then apply an amount of product to your hair based on its length and thickness. I use about a penny sized dallop for my hair which hangs down to the top of my breasts. If you use too much your hair will look dirty by the end of the day and be limp. Then blowdry and style as usual.
