You could definitely use this over your foundation. That's how I use it. Just don't put all over your face. I only apply a hint of it on my cheeks or under my eyes.

Yes. I use it as a setting powder over my foundation.

Yes, it is supposed to be all over your foundation but it does shine so you might want to use it just in the upper are of your cheeks and under the eyebrows. Does not provide coverage, but rather gives you that luminous glow that reflects with the light. I used it as highlighter in the upper cheek and works wonders.

answer 5
Yes. This should be the top layer of make-up so you would apply it lightly over your cheekbones, right under your eyebrows, and on the inner corners of the eyes to really brighten up the face and look radiant. It should be applied after foundation and concealers. Remember, a little bit goes a long way.

I put this powder over Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer for a bit of highlight and to absorb some of the shine of the moisturizer. Make sure you blend this powder well as it can gather in fine lines/large pores or any other blemish you definitely do not want to highlight. Also, I was surprised when I ordered this that it did not come with anything to put it on with - no brush, no pad, no powder puff, nothing.

I think either color will work for you. They are both pretty sheer powders.

I have quite fair skin and I use Candlelight and I love it. Starlight has a more yellow-y look to it, which I don't really like. If the yellow would compliment your skin, I would suggest it, but for nude/fair I would definitely recommend Candlelight.

If you have fair or light skin, I would go with the lighter shade. I have the lighter shade & the "glow" was a bit much for me, so I mixed it about 1/2 and 1/2 with my translucent Estee Lauder loose powder. This is really a great powder. Very sheer and light, gives a radiant, light reflecting finish.

I use this powder on areas that I DON'T want to be noticeable, like under my chin and at the top of my forehead at the hairline. Don't know why, but it works for me.

this powder will make large pores look the same or bigger esp if applied to the nose. It is very moisturizing, so it won't have that cakey look (and throughout the day, you will notice it tends to moisturize even more), so it depends if you have large pores and how dry, normal, oily your skin is.

Question
What happened to Laura Mercer Star Dust?
I purchased Laura Mercer Star Dust in one of your stores last year and loved it. I am almost out and now I want to buy more, but no longer find it on your list of Laura Mercer products. I do see a product called "Illuminating Mineral Powder" by Laura Mercer, but it comes in shades...... Candlelight and Starlight. Which of these shades is the closest to the original Star Dust? I have fair skin, hazel eyes and strawberry blonde hair (my natural color). I am 52 years old. Please advise and thanks very much for the help.

I had the SAME problem! After trying both colors, the starlight closest matches the old star dust. The candlelight is VERY nice too- it has more of a very subtle pink tone to it rather than silvery shimmer like the original stardust.

You can use a few brushes just depending on where your applying the illuminator-- use Sephoras Complexion Brush #53 for an easy way to blend powder all over the face or in a concentrated area. Use Sephoras Rounded Powder Brush #49 for lightly buffing out the powder to get a sheer application. Or you can use a fan brush like Sephoras Platinum #43 for a beautiful dusting over the cheekbones.

I have tried both, and here's my verdict: the candle light has more of a pinkish undertone, and the starlight has more of a golden undertone.

Question
How pigmented is Starlight?
I have a light complexion with yellow undertones (which I don't like) I am wondering how dark the Starlight appears on the skin? Is it golden or more neutral beige? Also, wondering if the Candlelight might work better to brighten my skintone and take away some of the yellow? Thanks.....

Starlight looks quite yellow in the little jar, whereas Candlelight is much more rosey and if you want to balance out the yellow tones already in your skin, I would recommend Candlelight.

Starlight is a sheer light gold highlight color, Candlelight is a light rose gold shimmering highlight color... If you just want to add a little shimmer to make skin glow, go for starlight, it looks great with blush or lightly dusted all over the face.. If you are looking for more of a "wear alone" type of shade, go for candlelight for a beautiful skin pick me up.
