the curler i got from the sephora store included 3 replacement pads. by the time you use all three, i'd suggest getting a new curler. the integrity of the metal joints DOES degrade over time...i almost ripped out my eyelashes using an old old curler when it broke. i was sixteen and i won't ever make that mistake again.

i've read that it's recommended to replace the pad every three months and the curler every six.

You can't buy replacement pads for any eyelash curler except Shiseido. You can buy them online for $6. Otherwise, you're going to have to purchase a new eyelash curler.

I am pretty sure that the stores carry the replacement pads. I had some in the box that the curler came with but the stores have an 'accessories' area where all of these kind of instruments and their replacement parts are for sale.

In addition to the rubber thing it already on the curler, there are 3 additional ones in the package for a total of 4. IMHO, once you go through all 4, it's probably time for a new curler so you don't need to buy more replacements!

Unfortunately, based on my experience, it won't be an effective curler for very straight, stubborn lashes. My lashes are long and not particularly straight or stubborn, and I had lackluster results with it. There are other much better, less- expensive options.

Yes, but you could heat the curler with a blow-dryer for a few seconds first to curl the stubborn straight lashes. Be careful not to burn yourself. Test the curler somewhere other than your face if you heat the curler with the blow dryer.

I have the same question. So far all I have been told is that no pad are available in this and the Shu Eumera as well. You have to buy a new curler and you get a few pads to change out. Seems "wrong" to me. I hate to make more garbage.

Well if the Shu Uemura doesn't work for you, maybe this Tweezerman curler will work for you. I'm saying this because I absolutely love the Shu Uemura curler and it works amazingly on my lashes. I tried this Tweezerman curler and it did not curl at all! There has to be a reason why it didn't work on my lashes. I have very straight, sparse lashes. I think it doesn't curl my lashes well because the part of the curler where the rubber touches when the curler is closed, the blade part, is a bit dull. It could probably curl thicker lashes better than sparse lashes. Does that make sense? I noticed that part on the Shu Uemura curler is a lot sharper, making it easier to curl my lashes.

According to Tweezerman, this should come with three replacement pads. I'm assuming that is in addition to the one pad already on the device. If so, and if you replace the pad every three months as instructed (by pretty much every eyelash curler manufacturer, and indeed by Tweezerman) that is one year's worth of pads. Everyone also recommends throwing out your eyelash curler and getting a new one every year (go to Tweezerman's website and you'll see their instructions match).
One reason is hygiene, but the other is that the device loses some of it's tension after it's been used a couple-few hundred times, and becomes less effective.
So if you run out of pads, you might want to consider just buying a new one.

Question
Good for almond shaped eyes?
I have almond shaped eyes and have a hard time finding eyelash curlers that fit my eye shape. Usually they do not cover all my eyelashes. I am using a Lancome curler I got in a freebie kit but cannot find a replacement anywhere. Would love to hear if people with almond shaped eyes like this curler!

I also have almond-shaped eyes, and I currently use the Shu Uemura one. I haven't tried the Shiseido one yet, but that one also has really good reviews. I find that the Shu Uemura curler grabs all of my lashes and curls them well enough. The only problem with my lashes is that the inside corner lashes don't stay curled as long as the outer lashes, but I don't think any eyelash curler can actually fix that. The good thing about the Shiseido curler is that you can actually buy the replacement pads online for $6.00 - no other eyelash curler brand does that.
