I have oily eyes that are notorious for eyeliner running. This eyeliner runs significantly less than the drugstore versions I have tried (usually requires no touch up), even in the inner corners. Unless I touch the corner, the product will stay all day.

Any drugstore makeup remover that is oil-based would work fine. I start with a regular make-up remover (water based) and then remove all left-overs from the waterproof make-up with a specific makeup remover for waterproof stuff (oil based).
Specifically for waterproof make-removers I have been happy with L'oreal and Lancome's.

You might try a little petroleum jelly. Rub a small bit on and let it sit for a minute, then try to wipe it off. it's also good for the skin around your eyes.

Clinique Naturally Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. It's the creamy kind in a light green tube. Rub it into your lash line with your eyes closed, then wipe off with a cotton pad. Repeat if necessary. I have not found a better eye makeup remover anywhere. I use waterproof makeup everyday.

I use it on my bottom lash line when doing a really dramatic look. I'll do a big old thick line near the outer corner of the eye, then use the blending tip to taper it in towards the middle. You could also use it to clean up a flubbed cat eye wingtip.

This liner lasts me until I take it off. I wear it for about 14 hours a day and don't need to touch it up. I have pretty watery eyes too and didn't think it would be possible for a liner to last me this long. I have no trouble removing it at night either.

Start with just enough of the tip exposed to get a good line, but not so much that it will break. I always start with the outside corner of my eye and go inward. It's easier for me to manage the line since I can see what I'm doing better. I use a finger on my other hand to hold the skin slightly taught to get started. You can start with a fine line and build from there, or go as thick as you want. Use the smudge tip to soften the edge, if desired.

Question
this vs. Clinique Quickliner for the Eyes?
Both ratings are the same, but this Sephora collection one is cheaper by $3. I've purchased a basic Sephora-brand eyeliner before, and I have to say the creamy texture couldn't not stay on my skin well. Should I invest in the extra $3 and get the Clinique one (or other retractable, dual-ended eyeliners)?

Any tips would help, thanks!

Sometimes is you go back over the liner with a bit the same color of shadow on an angled brush that will help set it better so it stays without smudging so much.

I always make sure I don't 'push' the liner into the sharpener by making sure the liner isn't really advanced into the sharpener. The turning of the pencil wil advance it and I check it often. Also, make sure the sharpener is free from any liner that may have been left behind from previous sharpenings. Good luck! :)

I just advance the liner a little more and angle it toward the blade part of the sharpener(which you can remove from under the part that looks like an eraser). If it gets clogged, I've used a safety pin to clean it.

Because it is so soft, I usually take a small piece of clean paper towel and I place it on the tip and bring the pencil up towards it and smooth it out as if you were wiping it clean. This sharpens it but you need to do this each time you want it sharp.
