Questions & Answers for Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Sin

Question
Does this help control oiliness?
Hi! does anybody know if this product helps eyeliner stay in place? I have VERY oily eyelids and my eyeliner smudges all over my upper eyelid just 2-3 hours after application...

Any suggestions for a long-staying eyeliner will be greatly appreciated as well (I'm currently using MAKEUP FOREVER AQUA EYES).

Thank you all in advance!

If you are looking for a great eyeliner with excellent staying power, try MAC Liquid Last. Its a liquid eyeliner that stays on....I use it on my water line, as my liner smears there the most....

yes it does control oil. At least for me.... my eye makeup would last for like an hour ish but now I literally sleep in it and can go the next day wearing the same makeup (i mean i would never do that haha). I'm not sure about pencil liners I use liquid and it stays put everywhere except for the outer corners of my eyes because my eyes water a lot from allergies... other then that it stays put. this stuff has even stayed on through Arizona summer weather..

I have extremely oily skin myself and I would recommend that you use the original primer potion not this. I SWEAR by the original and wished that I had had it years ago. So really go for the other, not the shimmer.

My eyelids don't get too greasy but now that I think about it, this primer does seem to have a level of drying power to it. My eyeshadows definitely stay in place longer.

Yes this product is very crease resistant, will help liners and shadows last all day. but if your looking for a long-wearing liner try Urban Decay 24/7 liners or the Make Up Forever aqua eyes water proof liners there budge proof. Hope this helps :)

Use the Urban decay primer. It has really helped my eyeline stay put. I also use a liquid pencil eyeline. It is great, the benefits of a pencil but the color of a liquid and stays on all day.

Try the Urban Decay Primer Potion. I had success with this product. I live in Hawaii (really humid) and I have combination skin which is hard to find a good eyeliner that won't smudge. I've been using this for about a month now and so far so good. GOOD LUCK!

I wouldn't think this would make a good eyeliner. It's too creamy for that. I think it works well with keeping eyeliner from smudging.

when you think it is all gone, cut it in half with a sharp knife, scoop it out and put it in a little jar. you will be amazed at how much you have left, it should last you well over six months!

I would say this should last longer than two months if used daily. My itty bitty sample size of the original that came with the book of shadows is still going strong and I've been using it consistently for weeks. The key is once you think it's empty to pry off the part just inside the top of the neck that wipes excess product off the wand and you will find much more is left.

It just depends on what looks you're going for. I have both. I use the sin by itself or under eyeshadow when I want shimmer. I use the original for matte eyeshadow.

I have found that I like the original better. This one does change the hues of the shadow. Its supposed to be a primer but shadow doesn't cover the shimmer. It makes all your shadows shiny almost. I will stick with the original when this is gone.

I prefer the standard UDPP when I am using an eye shadow that I love and don't want to change the way it looks.

If there is an eye shadow that I want to warm up a little or add shimmer to, it looks great with Sin UDPP. If I only want shimmer all over with slight color, and don't want to wear any other eye shadows, Sin UDPP is best!

Basically, they're the same formula. This one, SIn, just has a shimmer to it. It all depends on if you'd rather a shimmery base, or a plain one.

The most recent edition of this bottle has the bent wand. It allows you to get more of the stuff out of the container. I do not use the brush at all though, and instead use my ring finger to dab just the perfect amount onto my eyelids.

The original Urban Decay Primer Potion is sheer, in that it doesn't have any color of it's own when you put it on your eyelid. The Sin Primer Potion has a light bronze sheen to it, which may or may not affect the color of your eyeshadow.

Question
Does the shimmering champagne color of Sin affect the eyeshadow color?
I've read reviews about this product and am wondering if anyone who has already tried this can tell me how much the fact that the primer has a tint to it actually affects the color of the eyeshadow you put on top of it.

Yes, it does effect the color of the eyeshadow you put on top of it. It tends to mute some of the brighter colors I have, but in such a way that they become more "acceptable" for a work environment. If you really want to have the true-to-life color of your eye shadows, buy the un-pigmented, original version of the primer potion.

I found a VERY SLIGHT difference when using the sin primer potion under my blue and green eyeshadow colors. It didnt really change the lighter colors, like flipside, but any darker ones I could tell a very slight change. Kinda gave a subtle shimmer to flatter colors too. The difference wasn't enough for me to not love this product though!

I don't fine that it interferes with the color of your shadows at all. It is more of a flesh tone with a shimmer. When matte shadows are placed over it they do have a little bit of a satin finish, but not sparkly. I highly recommend this primer, it has so many uses besides the priming. Well worth it.

Never tried this, but I think it would work. Recommend using a fine tipped brush to apply the primer across your lower lash line- the wand tip itself would be too broad.
