This matte bronzer works on all skin types. Apply, it very lightly for lighter coverage.

It is highly pigmented so apply it with a light hand. I use a skunk brush rather than a kabuki.

I'm olive tone & need to apply lightly, so it may be too dark for a lighter asian skintone. You may want to look into the brand's various Leopard bronzers (havent tried but they look good!)

I am filipino/white and it's not too dark for me. It's all in how you apply it. Use light brush strokes so that you can control how much you want to apply.

I am extremely fair, and this is not too dark for me at all...its very forgiving!
I apply with a large "kabuki" style brush (like the Bare Minerals one) and its perfet for pale skin in the summer.

I have pretty light skin in the winter! The thing is, this product looks way darker in the conpact then how it goes on your face! If you apply it with a big brush and a small amount of product i think it will look really pretty :)

I am also fair to med skintoned but this bronzer is not too dark at all. I find it to be very believable. It looks much darker in the palette than it actually applies. Start with a light hand and you can build the coverage and intensity of color. I think you will love it :)

I have light to medium Chinese skin and I use this bronzer. I use a duo fiber (skunk) brush to lightly swirl it in the B/3 motions, hitting my cheeks, jaw, and forehead. I put a little down the bridge of my nose, and any left over on the brush is lightly dusted over my whole face. With a light hand, it doesn't appear dark at all, just adds a little bit of tan, not fake, orange, or red, or sparkly.

try it in the store first....but its not muddy or dirty looking....you might want to try there aqua cream bronzer then.

It's not nearly as dark in person! It's a great medium shade. It just looks very believable, like you were out by the pool all day.

I am pretty fair, but if you use a good brush the color is buildable. I really like the clinique brushes. The powder brush really works well with this bronzer. A more dense brush will apply more product, a lighter bristled and fluffy brush will give you less color so i guess it depends on the type of brush you are using.

I cannot use it every single day. I have to switch it up. If I switch it up, I do not have a problem. If I use it every day for two or more weeks, I break out from it. I use it during the week, then right when I get home I wash my face. On weekends, I do not use it. I do not have break outs with that method. If you are very break out prone, I encourage you to get into the habit of using more natural ingredients and staying far far away from fragrance (which this has). I would check out a bronzer from be or tarte. i love tarte bronzers, all of them.

I have very acne prone skin and I have never broken out with this product and I use it everyday.

I haven't and no one I know has either. It's really gentle to the skin.

I am proned to break-outs and haven't experienced any problems with this product. It even helps hide my imperfections (acne scars, brown spots) to create a shine free glow.

I have very fair and sensitive skin and have used this powder for over a year and it hasn't given me a breakout yet. Actually I think it has improved the texture of my skin. :D

I'm someone who has to watch what I put on my face, and I have used this bronzer for about 2 weeks, and I would say this bronzer makes my face look silky smooth! Very little goes a long way! The best bronzer that I have ever used!

I have oily/acne prone skin and it does not break me out. I really like it.

This bronzer has a 100% matte finish. Bare Escentuals Warmth gives good color, but is more shimmery than I care for.

The colors are comparable, and they both have great staying power and are easy to blend. However, Warmth has an sheen or glow to it that can amplify the shine that comes with oily skin so if you have oily or combination skin I'd go with the Chocolate Soleil

Warmth can look orange on me. This can look muddy on me, if I over apply. Warmth is just orange on me, no matter how i apply it (more is worse). I would say the too faced is more pigmented, a touch darker, and is not orange. It really depends on your skin tone though. I am fair in be. I prefer too faced over be warmth. My favorite is tarte park avenue princess. Then hoola by benefit. Then too faced. I love be, but warmth is not even close to a favorite for me. Too faced is matte, tarte makes a matte bronzer that is also nice.

I like Warmth also, but have to be more careful, and of course, there is the preference of pressed vs loose...

It's much better than warmth in my opinion, because it is less orangey. This looks more natural on my fair skin.

I have used both the bare minerals warmth and the too faced chocolate soleil, I prefer the two faced it looks best on everyone's skin tone with a natural look. I have light skin and it looks great on my skin tone and I use it on medium and dark skin tone it just works on everyone. The problem with Bare Minerals Warmth it has too much of a red undertone and only really works on darker skin, on light skin it looks too burnt red color, not so much tan and doesn't blend well into light skin tones.

I find BE warmth to be just a tad on the orangey side. I find this to be a much more believable shade. Oh, and it's matte whereas warmth has a tiny bit of shimmer I think.

I feel like warmth does exactly what it says, adds warmth. Although this foundation is good, I feel the color is a little flatter than warmth. The matte is good for oily or shiny skin, but the warmth does offer warmer undertones. I use blush with this bronzer.

This is more brown and more blendable. Looks more natural as well. Can be used on any skin whereas with warmth it can be a little too much.

This doesn't have any shimmer! That's what I love about it!

No there is no shimmer. I have to ask though, what is your skin tone? You want to use a powder, or concealer that is two shades darker than your skin tone. I find that bronzers are usually darker than that if you are fair, and too light if you are darker. If you are medium or tan, this will work. I encourage you to go to the drug store. Pick up a cheap concealer one to two shades darker than your skin tone. Use it to contour. You could try it with a regular face powder that is one to two shades darker than your skin tone as well. I like to use creams as I find they blend easier. Then i set it with powder. If you are fair or light, this would work as an all over bronzer. I just think it will be too dark to contour with on fair/light skin tones. Medium and olive skin tones could contour with it.

NO shimmer, but I wouldn't really recommend it for contouring - it's more a translucent dusting powder.

Perhaps the word "bronzer" can be misleading. This is a great product for adding a summer tan look with no shimmer. I use a big powder brush and lightly dust over all my face (I put my blush on first), I am fair and find this to be not too dark , but perhaps someone with darker skin could apply more.

This has no shimmer and looks natural. I use it for contouring and all around bronzing and it works great!

I've used both this too faced bronzer and benefit's hoola. In fact, I used to swear by hoola. Still is a great product, but when I contoured with too faced on one side, and benefit on the other, I noticed that hoola looked a bit orangy in comparison. Perhaps you can get sample sizes of these two, or borrow a bit of a friend's, to compare?

Hula has a yellow undertone, Chocolate Soleil has a neutral undertone- neither pinkish nor yellow. As a fair skinned, neutral under-toned lady, I definitely prefer the TooFaced Soleil. ;{}

i think there is a little bit more product in benefit hoola, but i find they are way too similar in color when you swatch on your hand, but when I wear them on my face (i have both) the benefit hoola looks a bit muddy where as this bronzer really warms up the face (is not reddish either) and i use this to contour. and packaging is different, i prefer this one because it has a big mirror as well and feels more sturdy than a box.

and it smells good to boot and lasts all day for me.

I have medium complexion and I would highly recommend. I find it to be very natural and easy to blend and work with. It smells delicious.

If you have seriously fair skin, go Too Faced.
Otherwise, if you have light to medium skin or darker, definitely go with Hula. Chocolate Soleil sinks into your pores and maximizes their appearance. Also, with Hula, you get a lot more for your money.
For me, it's a no brainer.

Hoola gives a more yellow/light orange look whereas Chocolate Soleil is a true, rich brown. Think of a light milk chocolate, it smells like it too. I think the Chocolate Soleil gives a more natural look thats put together but not noticeably done up

Coming from someone who has used both this and Hoola, I would recommend this one. Hoola seemed to go on much streakier. I also love how this one has a nice mirror with it.

It really depends on your skin tone. I personally am very very fair. I require something a bit more sheer. I prefer tarte park avenue princess, never muddy or orange. Too faced is quite pigmented, and can look muddy on very very fair skin tones if you over use which is easy to do at first since the pigmentation. Hoola is somewhere in between, not sheer not as pigmented as too faced. I find this one is workable with my ultra fair skin. If I were medium or olive, I would get too faced or hoola. I am fair and would definitely go for tarte. If I were light I would get either tarte or hoola. It depends on you. What you want. What your needs are.

I have olive colored skin and usually hold a tan all year round. This goes on pretty dark for me, I have to be really light-handed when putting it on. I would say that even medium-dark skin types could us this product and get the desired effect.

You should be able to build up the pigmentation if it isn't dark enough for you with one swipe.

Tough one. To contour? I am going to say no. I think it might be too light. You are right on the edge of it being too light for you. You can try it and see. I think you should get a concealer in two shades darker than your skin tone. Get a coordinating face powder. Try drug store first before you splurge on a technique you might not enjoy. Then use the concealer to contour. Set it with the powder.

I think it lasts longer than a drugstore version. That's just me though. My theory is usually that you get what you pay for. Drug store eye liners are totally worth it though!

best drugstore bronzer for the price is rimmel, not orange at all and like 2 or 3 dollars. but this is definitely worth it. try rimmel and if its not doing what you want it to, definitely go for this one.

If you aren't concerned about the scent, then it's worth the purchase. Too Faced is a great brand and their products are always worth the price. I'm a brand user when it comes to my makeup so I am unsure if there is a drugstore brand that can mimic this product.

This product is worth the high price tag if you want a truly matte finish. I love it because there is no excess shimmer or sparkle, so it looks natural during the day.

I have super sensitive skin and this has not bothered my skin at all. I have had enormous rashes from products before and can typically only use mineral makeup and sensitive skin products. Unless there's an ingredient you're allergic to, I don't foresee any problems for you.

i am tan as well and have very sensitive skin but this bronzer will not harm your skin. i use it all the time and its fine.. i have realized though that if i have not showered in like two days (<---i know gross) and i re-apply it to the same areas of my neck (because i use this bronzer on my face & neck and at the end of the night i only remember to wash my face off (not my neck)) that it makes me itch a little. but not to an extreme...i love this matte bronzer (use it everyday!)

i doubt u would have a problem being sensitive to this bronzer. i'm pretty sensitive myself and i've been FINE!
