Questions & Answers for Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Waterproof Mascara

Question
Is effect with this mascara same as original badgal lash?
I tried a badgal lash sample and loved it's thickening effect. I loved you could layer it to create a false lash look. The problem is it feathered and gave me raccoon eyes. Does the waterproof version give the same effect? I've heard a lot about the different brush. Does it make a difference in the effect it creates? Does the waterproof version smudge?

It'll smudge if you sweat way too much, like go to the gym while wearing it. The brushes are very very different. They don't give the same effect. This version is smaller so you see less definition. Hope that helped!

answer 2
You can still layer and work towards that effect, but the smaller brush doesn't fluff your lashes as well. More coats usually gets you close.

It wont smudge! I have a habit of rubbing my eyes throughout the day (staring at a computer screen all day) and I dont flake I dont smudge!

It's awesome. So much so that it is hard to get off.

It smudges a little...not easily and not more than I am willing to put up with...in my opinion you should mid-day check your makeup anyhow, so wiping just the end of my eye smudge off takes little to no effort and is worth the effects of the mascara. Brush design is favorable for lower and top lashes, I have no idea if it matches sample brush.

It has never smudged for me, and I have really watery eyes, and an oily eye area. The only thing is that in order to get a decent amount of volume (like a false lash) you have to apply upwards of 5 coats, and even then it's more defining than volumizing.

Question
Will this mascara survive a day at the beach or pool?
Previous waterproof mascaras have failed with me leaving my eyes with dark circles (luckily I was only with my friend, so nobody was around to see me). Will this mascara rub if I go swimming?

Rub off... no no. If you mash on your eyes a ton, you might get some under eye smudges but this marvel doesn't have the will to leave your lashes. It will be there, after floating down the river or any ocean activity you can think of.

My experience was that it lasted through a particulary hot and humid day. It seemed that everything else on my face was melting and running, but not my lashes. But be advised, it dries super fast and left me with "spikes" that wouldn't budge with a lash comb. If you like the original formula, stick with it. To me, it's not worth the dry, clumpy lashes I had to deal with.

No, I wouldn't wear it to a pool or beach. I wore it to work and after about 3 hours, I had light smudges under my eyes. Get Benefit's She-laq to wear over your favorite mascara. That really waterproofs things! Just be careful removing - let the pad/cotton ball sit on your lashes first, don't rub. The stuff really makes the mascara stay!

It is not hard to remove. It is very simple IF you have a remover specially designed for waterproof makeup.

If you just spash around in the pool, then this mascara will not come off. However, if you are a competitive swimmer (like me) who is seriously in the water, then it will begin to flake slightly.

Not hard to remove at all. The trick is to wet a cotton ball or pad with eye makeup remover and hold it on your lids for about 5-8 seconds, before gently wiping away. Works perfectly every time!

This is even better, in fact there really is no better mascara out there. And I have tried Diorshow, Lancolme (Though the new looks good) and many other top brands. This beats them hands down. For non waterproof I use They're Real also from Benefit. It's really amazing also, but I favor waterproof, so this is what I use the most

Its not even close. The waterproof version sucks & its NOT waterproof. It smears & smudges & gets all over under you eyes & its sticky so you cant just wipe it off.
Don't use this if you NEED waterproof.
Get Lash Injection by Too Faced or Dior Show in waterproof or Urban Decay waterproof formula mascara. Those actually ARE waterproof, dont run, smudge or smear, don't clump up.

I feel the same as you that Bad Gal mascara (original) is awesome! But this version of Bad Gal (waterproof), in my opinion, was not worth the money or time. I returned it ASAP. I use Blinc's Kiss Me mascara. It doesn't flake, it's very water-resistant (waterproof formulas are harsh), and it comes off gently with warm water (without makeup remover)! Hope this helps!

Question
Is the "look" of the lashes different using this instead of the original?
i was happy to see benefit came out with a waterproof version b/c the original gave nice results but it would smudge easily. :( However... benefit you should have kept the big brush and everything! im pretty sure it would change the result now that it has a skinny brush. am i right?

It gives the same intensity as far as pigment, but it dries very quickly...so if you are not really fast with the separation of your lashes, you will have spikes that don't like to separate. I personally hate that look, and would advise that if you love the original, stick with it.

I use both Bad Gal lash and the Bad Gal Waterproof. They both give you those dark long plump looking lashes. The great thing about the wand in the waterproof is that it allows you to have more precision. You can apply one coat for natural dark lashes or multiple for that false lash look!
