Question
Other brushes?
Could I use the beautycleanser formula to clean my other brushes (eyeshadow, blush, concealer, etc.) instead of just the beauty blender? Thanks :)

The dispenser it hard to explain. You push down and the soap comes up and fills a little bowl-like area on top. You do not dispense the soap into your hands. The cleanser smells like it's some sort of soap, and it cleans the makeup off of the beauty blender extremely well, so I'm sure you could use it for your other makeup brushes too.

Yes, I use the beauty cleanser to clean all my brushes! I also have the Sephora brand brush cleaner which is pretty cheap and that works amazing also.

as someone who used sponges in the past, and quite because they abrob too much product, i have to say that i LOVE this sponge! i dampen it a little and squeeze out excess water. the texture is amazing and i find that i use MUCH less foundation than i did using other sponges or my fingers.

I think so, I think it waste a lot less product and since the texture is different it gives a different effect. Plus this sponge has a round bottom and a pointy head which makes it a lot easier to use and it gives a better coverage, it helps you not cake your face.

There really is a difference. It makes it faster and more natural looking, but I'm not sure why. I love this sponge!

answer 5
yes because the wedge is square, it is not rounded and the roundness makes the difference, especially getting foundation around the eyes and nose

I could tell a HUGE difference between when i used a wedge sponge and when I use this product! it went on much smoother, more controlled, flawless! the texture of the wedges and the texture of this blender egg is very different so how it lays the foundation or the concealer on your skin...the outcome will be much different. I've already received compliments saying i'm glowing or my skin is so gorgeous but they don't know i'm packing on foundation and concealer lol

I have used several types of cleansers for my makeup brushes and this beat them all hands-down. I will not buy another beauty blender but I will continue to use the cleanser.

answer 2
you don't have to but beware that other cleansers may be heavier and may not rinse completely out of your blender. this cleanser was made specific enough to clean, disinfect and rinse thoroughly from your blender. and using only one pump of it makes the cleanser last much longer. Also other cleanser bc they don't rinse as well may make your blending sponge texture come out different once it dries, so makeup being applied will also go on different due to the new texture.

I would clean the sponge as it was like brush. Use gentle hand soap like Dawn Antibacterial or any bathroom hand soap.

You can use a good non-latex sponge that will work just as well. Better yet, a good foundation brush is even better. It will last for many years and give a flawless application. There are way better alternatives than this product.

Question
I have been told not to use sponges because it absorbes the foundation so you end up wasting some. Does this do the same thing?

answer 1
I actually end up using LESS foundation with this product than I do with brushes or other sponges. Wetting the beautyblender before using it greatly reduces the amount of makeup that gets absorbed by the sponge. I also find that the beautyblender helps to stretch how far my foundation will go without sacrificing coverage, if that makes any sense. This is totally different than any other sponge I've ever used.

thats why you have to absorb water first and squeez out as much as possible so that it cant absorb the product instead. IT is so muchbetter using it wer anyways. Go watch some YouTUbe videos

The estimated amount of time for a beautyblender is 3 months if you take good care of it. This means washing it regularly. The set comes with an address to send your beautyblender to when you need a new one. The company recycles it properly for you :)

It is a pump that you push down and a nickel size amount comes to the top to put onto the sponge. It is very effective!

it is kind of weird, but you will get used to it. It is a concave disc and you push in on it and it fills with the liquid cleanser.

Have you ever been to a nail salon and they put the cotton pad on the top and push down? the acetone pushes upward and into the pedastal that you sat the cotton pad on? that's what the dispenser is like. It has a pedastal that you sit the blender egg on, push down and the cleanser liquid shoots upward into the blender egg. Just pump once, you don't want to waste it and one pump is sufficient to clean your blender

Fragrance?
Does this have a fragrance? If so, what does it smell like? Is it strong? Does it go away quickly? I am very sensitive to fragrances. Thanks for your help!

Yes it does have a smell, however it's not that strong and it does go away pretty fast. I'd recommend you to just use one pump first to see how sensitive you are to it.

Question
Other Cleansers?
Will other brush cleansers work with the beautyblender? I'm allergic to lavender (migraines and hives) so the blendercleanser is a no go for me. I don't want to spend this much money on the sponge and then mess it up because I'm not using the right cleanser! Thanks.

I honestly don't think so. But what you can do is wash off all the residue with the sponge cleanser then wash it again with another cleanser to get ride of all the stuff you're allergic to from the blender cleanser (so two cleansers total). It's a hassle I know, but trust me ITS ALL WORTH IT!

Yes they do! Just make sure that it is somewhat natural, and not a lot of soapy, harsh chemicals. Unfortunately I was not a fan of the Sephora spray cleanser/disinfectant or whatever it is. It gets 2 stars.

Mine has faded but it hasn't changed how well this appies makeup. I've been using the same one for about six months and it works as well now as the day I got it.
Also, depending on the foundation you use- these get stained, even if you wash after every use. Particularly, with long-wear foundations.

Yes it bleeds and thats completely normal. It does fade away after time. I wash mines in antibacterial dish soap thats also made for sponges (doesnt need to be though) maybe once a month.

Question
bare escentuals
can this sponge be used with bare escentuals? I have the b.e. brushes and when I use them with my b.e. my face gets all red, puffy and itchy. I clean them and everything, but it still gets like that. I was hoping that this product will help me.

I use it with BE. I prefer it over the brushes. In fact, I was ready to completely quit using BE because I just turned 32 and am starting to get fine lines around my eyes... I wanted a new product to minimize them. Anyway, the beautyblender makes BE look sooo much better. I seriously am always admiring my complexion in the mirror. It makes such a huge difference. More coverage, but also more natural.
