Questions & Answers for bareMinerals Purely Nourishing Moisturizer — Combination Skin

Question
is this good for dry skin?
I have dry flaky skin and hate liquid makeup which makes it look even more flaky after applying. Is bare escentuals a good choice? Will it make my skin look flaky? What products from this line should I use to help?

I have dry, sensitive skin and love this moisturizer. Liquid foundation and concealer just glide on. Best of all, complexion looks plump and dewy with no makeup-the moisturizing effects do last. Also use product on my legs for a subtle sheen (no sparkle) and around my eye area (no need to buy eyecream).

I have dry skin as well, and this product is AMAZING! I love all of the Bare Escentuals products. Bare Escentuals is all I have used for the last 4 years. You should try the make up, you will be hooked.

I love the BE makeup but I find that it goes on cakey in the winter because of dryness. I use a liquid makeup in the winter, but love the BE in spring and summer.

I would not recommend this for dry skin. I have normal/combination skin, and it made my skin feel dry by the end of the day - which normally never happens even in cold weather. I think this moisturizer is best suited for normal or normal/combination/oily skin and even then it's probably best not used in really cold dry weather.

Absolutely use bare escentuals. I reccomend this product to every one. This product will embrace your skin issues and turn them around for softer, smoother and more evenly toned skin.

This is great for dry flaky skin. I had a dry patch above my eyebrows on my forehead and it was gone after 2 applications. This is a lighweight formula that blends in quickly and dries fast so you can apply your next step almost right away. It has not made my skin break out at all like other moisturizers I have tried and I even think it has made my skin look better! I love it!

Question
will I break out from this product
I am 50 years old. I have never been able to use any products containing oil because it causes my skin to break out with acne. My skin has always been oily but now that I am older I also am bothered with dry skin (mostly in the winter). I really wanted to try this new moisturizer but since it has so many different oils in it, I am leary of putting it on my face. Can you tell me if these oils will cause break outs on my skin?

I have acne-prone skin for the past three years, and I tried the 30 day sample bottle and I liked the results so much that I looked up all of its ingredients online. None of them are acne irritants. this information is easily found on websites if you type in " ingredients to avoid for acne" in google. plus, acne is caused by many other factors. So I invested in another bottle. It was worth ti!

When I first tried this product my face did get red but then it went away in like an hour. I'm not sure why. I haven't had a problem after the first initial use. Everyone's skin is different.. I like using the Neutrogena wave and then follow up with this moisturizer..it's great!

Everyone's skin is different. I know many people that have fantastic results with this moisturizer. I, however, am not having great results. My face turns red right when I put it on and now I have little bumps around my hairline, chin, and nose. I also cannot use Philisophy's line because it also turns my face red. I seem to have better luck with Neutrogena. It really depends on the person. I would try a sample or two before committing to an entire bottle.

I don't know if the actual oils will break you out, but there is SOMETHING in this product that caused a severe reaction on my face. Hundreds of tiny, red bumps that itched and burned appeared within three days. My suggestion would be to try Philosophy's Hope In a Jar for Normal Skin. I have used it for years and never get break-outs. (I am age 44.) If you really want to try the RareMinerals, just try it in one place for a few days!

Question
Can this work as an under eye moisturizer?
I don't usually moisturize my face in the winter as I have many topical creams that I use for acne treatment. However in the summer I like to use a light moisturizer for certain areas of my (tan!!) face, especially for the skin under my eyes. What would you reccommend?

Thank you for your time.

Hi. I don't use a special product for the eye area anymore. I use this product all over face, eye area, hands and body. It's such a great moisturizer and non-irritating to sensitive skin. Also provides plenty of slip for foundation, concealer, and powder-makes complexion glowy worn alone. Sometimes use a little extra around eyes when skin is dehydrated-think it improves tiny lines temporarily. Like how the pump dispenses too.

NO! You should put eye cream around your eyes and face moisturizers on your face. Don't ever put anything near your eye that isn't made for your eyes! The eye area is more delicate and different than the rest of your face.

P.S. You should always use moisturizer on your face, it doesn't matter what "acne products" you are using. Use a moisturizer made for acneic skin.

Even eyecreams shouldn't be put inside the rim of the orbital bone because the skin inside the orbital bone is so thin that it acts like a paper towel wicking up water from a spill. This moisturizer is fine at the orbital bone and the delicate, thin skin inside that area will absorb it well.

I have super oily skin, and I haven't been able to find a good moisturizer that I would like to stick to until I found this one. This is great for oily skin! even though it is not "oil free" like most oily people would like to have for their moisturizers. but it contains "jojoba oil", which is the closest to human's sebum, and it tricks the oil gland to think that it is producing enough oil...so it works perfectly.
however, if you have super oily face like me, you just have to accept the fact nothing is ever going to make your face look matte finished and oil free. This product will hydrate your face and balance your oiliness over time. Try it. It is worth it! I am getting a second bottle and I am super happy with the result.

I used one pump of this every other day or more and mine has just run out today. I have had it for a year. Also you can unscrew the top after no more pumps out and there is a some left under the cap that you can scrape out in case you run out and can't go get more right away. I can't believe how long this has lasted because you need so little to be moisturized. I am reordering right now.

As a person who uses about 4 or 5 of the oil absorbing sheets every day, I can tell you that this moisturizer will not cause more oiliness. In fact, I think it helps balance everything out so that there is less oiliness! There are all natural oils in the product that will not clog pores (says the sales rep in the bare escentuals boutique).

Always put a minimum of SPF 15 on before your make up. I heard put sunscreen on after make-up but this doesn't make sense to me so I put it on before. There are a lot of great products out there to choose from, and if you are using Bare Minerals foundations, eye colors, and mineral veil there is already an SPF 15 in them so you don't have to worry. Use something with a higher SPF if you are spending a lot of time outside in the sun. Sun ages the skin terribly, I should know I live in Nevada.

Is it better to for coverage/that dewy look/quality of skin, to use skin rever upper and prime time or the moisturizer alone or some other combination? My skin is acne prone, neither dry nor oily, and does not soak up products very efficently. What whould give me the best finish?

Skin Rever-Upper is a pre-moisturizing treatment that helps remove dead surface skin cells to allow your moisturizer to penetrate. Use the rever-upper, then your moisturizer, then your prime time for the best results.
