Definitely. It is not tear free so I would be careful with getting it in their eyes, but otherwise is is gentle and natural.

Carol's Daughter's products are designed for the whole family, and her hair care can be used on children and babies. The Black Vanilla line in particular is great for young girls because of its pleasant vanilla scent.

Does it work for brittle hair, too?

I'm using well water, and I've found that my hair is extremely brittle. I've tried many products but none have given me the desired effect I want. I use a clarifier once a week, but that's all. After reading all the positive reviews for this product, I wondered if it helped brittle hair, too.

This may help. It is a great product; however, I think your problem may reside in your water. It sounds like you have hard, mineral rich water which can cause hair to feel stiff. Look into water softeners. Some add chemicals to soften, but I know there are some new ones on the market that are considered much healthier.

Well water is your problem, so you may have to consult directly with the product's manufacturers. This is a pretty rich shampoo, so you can try, but there's so much build-up on your hair from well water, this may only add to your problems.

Hi, your well water may have a high mineral content. Besides using a clarifying shampoo periodically, I would use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner and I would do a deep conditioning treatment once a week.I have not tried the Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Hair Smoothie, but if it's as hydrating as the shampoo and leave in conditioner I think it's worth a try. Also, If you use the same product line you won't have conflicting scents. I myself have aging fine hair that is colored.

Can't say for sure that it will help but the lack of sulfates is likely to leave your hair more conditioned. It's a good price so it's worth a try.

I honestly don't know if it would help brittle hair for sure, since mine isn't brittle, but I would recommend you try it because it is herbal and without the chemicals and dyes that other shampoos have. I strongly suspect that it would help you.

Yes. I have dry curly hair and I find this shampoo to be gentle enough for daily use. I would suggest occasionally skipping the shampoo and just conditioning, especially if your hair gets really dehydrated. (I find it difficult to do, though. My scalp doesn't like not being clean!) Just apply a small amount of shampoo to the scalp, avoiding the ends. On no-wash day, only apply conditioner to the hair below the ear-line. Again, both shampoo and conditioner are gentle enough for daily use, I have found.

I have very fine/thin hair, and a lot of it. Naturally straight & limp. Color treated. For me, I use this every other day or every 3 days, OR for 2 days in a row (when it is really dry and needs the extra help). The other days, I use Phytolactum intelligent shampoo. (fyi) =) I am guessing (at least with MY hair type) that daily use MAY eventually start to make it slightly oily and/or weigh it down. But everyone's hair is different and may react differently. So I say, TRY it and see. If you hate it, luckily sephora has an awesome return policy, no questions asked. OR you can always do what I do and use it every other day or every 3 days. =) Hope that helped. =)

My stylist says yes. Since CD shampoos don't have heavy oils and waxes, it's perfect for extensions- whether glued, sewn or braided.

Its possible, since Carol's Daughter products promote natural ingredients and mild shampoos should be used with synthetic and human hair wigs, etc. I suggest going to their website. They respond to emailed questions within two days and there's a toll free number to call.

It sounds like your hair needs protein. Find yourself a shampoo and conditioner that is "reconstructing". Don't go for "moisturizing" ones. Reconstructors typically have protein to repair. I have very thin, brittle and color-treated hair. I can only use reconstructors. I used these two Carol's Daughter ones and noticed my hair did get a tad bit dry after regular use. I stopped using because I could tell they must have had lower amounts of protein in them.

This is very moisturizing, but depending on your hair type, you may want to try the Hair Milk as it is extremely hydrating. It is meant for curly hair, but I have used it on my fine, straight dirty blonde hair and have no found it over hydrating.

this is a great shampoo to do that because it is so moisturizing. I also do at home treatments of mashed avocado and olive oil. mix them together and sit with a shower cap or plastic wrap for 1 hour on dry hair, then shampoo them out and follow with the smoothies that carols daughter makes. works for me.

This shampoo does not increase hair growth or thickness as it is all natural and most of those products contain chemicals. However, I have very fine hair and this makes my hair feel fuller and healthier. Also, being all natural and free of harsh sulfates, etc, it promoted natural and healthy hair growth without damaging strands and follicles. In the long run, it will help promote healthier, shinier hair.

I think that it will work very well on your hair but making it thicker I don't know. When you shampoo with this product don't forget to get the conditioner because it is important to condition hair when using chemicals to help keep hair from breaking.

I have very fine hair. This shampoo gives me a little more body to my hair but doesn't really add thickness. Have you tried Neutrogena Clean conditioner? It is very conditioning and does give my hair some extra thickness. I also sometimes use a root lifter spray.

when I watch her on a home shopping channel she usually says that tui is for coarse african american curly hair but I have thick curly hair and they both do the same wonderful job so try both! but tui might be better for you!

The Tui and Black Vanilla have exactly the same ingredients in them - the only difference is the fragrance. I prefer the black vanilla fragrance myself, but you should just smell them both and pick based on that. They're both great for both curly and straight hair.

I am not African-American, but I have dry curly hair. I have found the Black Vanilla S&C to be moisturizing and curl enhancing, but the formula is too light for effective frizz control. I have combined the Hair Milk into my routine, and that helps some. I have had many compliments on how beautiful my long curly hair is since starting this routine. In fact a lot of times, it's what people first notice about me. (I haven't tried the Tui, but am interested in what the difference is....)

The Rosemary and Mint is meant as a clarifying shampoo for oily hair. You may wish to try that first. This is designed more for normal hair, but as it does not add heavy moisture, it could work as well.

I have colored hair and have not noticed this makes it fade any more than others do. I've found the single biggest reason my color fades is because of the water I wash it in, not the shampoo (but I also don't use cheap shampoos, either). Since we got a water softener, my color lasts almost twice as long.
