I've worn this everyday and have had to walk through a lot of weather to get to classes. A little bit of rain isn't too much of a bother as long as you don't rub your eyes, but I wouldn't expect it to hold up in a storm or while swimming. Wind also gives me some trouble because my eyes tear up pretty badly, but this will just leave little smudges in the corner. The good news is that it you can clean the smudges off pretty easily, and it really doesn't run too horribly. Raccoon eyes is an overstatement.

yes it will flake underneath your eyes and you will have the raccoon eye look. I loved the brush and the feel but without the waterproof and the fact that it does indeed flake-it is a product I would not buy. I would keep looking.

I have yet to have the dreaded "coon eyes" effect with this mascara, as long as you use it lightly on the bottom lashes. Touch them gently with the brush no more than 2 times and you should be fine!

It is not waterproof, however after it is dry you should have no smudging. And, I had no problem with little raccoon eyes either. Actually, I do not think we will find a mascara that is absolutely flawless, we are more in it for the look so I really think most will appreciate this one, (for look and wear).

It doesn't leave them on me. I use the BE Make-up Remover and a Dermalogica Make-up Remover. Find a Remover (complete make-up or eye-area-only one that works great and removes all of the product, THEN wash your face. I've found this one step changes whether I have Raccoon Eyes or not. Hope it helps!

I don't know of they make a waterproof formula, but the one I purchased was not.

The directions tell you to just touch the wand to your lower lashes 2-3x, and that's really all you need. I have been wearing for the past 10 hours and no racoon eyes.

I like Buxom better because it is a true black. Diorshow is more of a black with a hint of blue.

I bought Diorshow after I saw my co-worker's bold and dramatic lashes. Unfortunately, it's not good to use if you have sensitive skin. My eyes started burning and tearing up mid-day and by the end of the day my eyelids were swollen. I bought buxom as a lighter option and I LOVE it. If you're not so sensitive Diorshow is more dramatic, but Buxom is a safer alternative and the brush looks cooler.

I use both of them together. I start with applying the diorshow iconic on first to lengthen and separate. Then I apply the buxom to make my lashes really black.

I've tried both Busom and DiorShow, and I'm a bigger fan of Buxom. Dior was too heavy and clumpy. Yeah, it volumized, but that was because there was no separation in the lashes. I like Buxom because it volumizes every single lash, without clumping. But it's something your going to need to see for yourself. Try them both!

I have never bought Dior mascara but I have tried lots of mascaras (and I am very picky with my mascara) and I cant find a flaw in this product so far. It doesnt run, flake, or smear and it delivers length and volume along with a great big rubber bristled brush. This is the best mascara I have tried so far and I would rccomend this proudly.

i have both diorshow and buxom mascaras. i prefer diorshow because it give me volume and curl than buxom. plus, diorshow does not smear and flake like the buxom mascara. diorshow stays from morning to nite with no flakes and the texture of diorshow on my lashes feels silky. i would recommended the diorshow since trying both of the mascaras for about 3 months and buxom always give me flakes later on in the evening.

This is way better than DiorShow for me personally. I bought a full size of DiorShow but had to return it due to an eye infection it caused starting with the second day of use. I received this Buxom Lash as a free deluxe sample and I am hooked. Love everything about it and will buy the full size when I run out.

I've used both, and I prefer the Buxom lash. It is a much lighter formula than DiorShow, so it holds a curl better and gives much more definition. The DiorShow is slightly better as far as volume, but I found it to get clumpy very easily. Also, Buxom lash is not nearly as heavily perfumed as the DiorShow.

I love DiorShow mascara and this is equally good, just different. This is a bit more "plasticy" and less oily if that makes sense. I would continue to use Dior for night and this for daytime. It seems to wear a bit longer without flakes or smudging.

You do not need a primer at all. However, if paired with a primer you really get a WOW effect.

I pair, at night, with a light coat of Lancome primer.

Question
...compared to cover girl lash blast?
I feel kind of silly asking this question, but has anyone tried both Buxom Lash as well as Cover Girl's Lash Blast mascara? I usually use Lash Blast and the bristles look similar to Buxom. I really wanted to try Buxom but I just hesitate to spend 3 times as much on one tube of mascara since I go through it so quickly! Please let me know what you think.

I have tons of mascaras, I think Buxom and Lash Blast are similar. The Buxom brush is bigger and easier to use since it is an hourglass. I can get the blonde roots. It leaves my lashes softer and is less clumpy. They seem about the same as far as length and volume to me. Neither flakes or runs on me. Maybe you could try one of the sets with a mini Buxom and a gloss first to compare. Lash blast has better colors, especially the shimmery ones so I still use it too.

I've used both. Before trying Buxom mascara, I thought LashBlast was the greatest mascara ever invented, however, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the wand up to my roots (blonde roots=problem! lol). Buxom solved that problem I also never really noticed any volumizing with LB. Buxom, I feel, makes my lashes almost look fake...but in a good way. I love Buxom lashes.
