I would think so - my daughter used it too and she has some blackheads and light breakouts on her nose and it cleared them right up. She also has sensitive skin just like me and it didn't bother her.

When will I see results? Does my skin get worse first?
I just started this system a few days ago...I was wondering if it made anyone elses skin worse before it got better? How long did it take for you to see results with this system? My skin looked great after the first use and now it seems like its going a little nuts...I am hoping that it is just adjusting.

My skin did not get worse, and that's what always happened with everything else i would try. I would think okay so it's gonna get worse and then better and that's only because it was getting worse and i was praying for the better part to come but it never would and on to a new product i would go and through the same sad cycle. This wasn't like i used it and wow my skin was amazing, at first it just kept my skin the same no knew breakouts and slowly healing, then i just had the dark marks from over zealouse poping. the marks started to fade(still fading) and when i would feel a bump under the skin that i knew with any other product would have turned into a poppers dream, well it never became more then that. for like 2 days it would be a slight bump and then gone, i never didn't use it though, and with the clarisonic it works faster, when i sleep over someones house and don't use the device it the treatment parts don't work as well. but with regular use no pimples for me. hope this was helpful.

I have used this set of products for 3 weeks and it makes me break out HORRIBLY! I have normal skin with a few problem pimples and like to have a regimen to keep my skin clear and this did not help. My entire forehead is covered. I feel like im 16 again... It really clogs my pores and makes my skin feel like it cant breathe.

I switched from the Clinique Acne Skin care, and I have actually found that this is better for my skin. It doesn't dry everything out, but still maintains a smooth feel, not oily. I haven't had any reactions as of yet, and I have been using it for about two weeks already.

My skin didn't get worse as in red, irritated, but I did notice it got stuff ot the surface of my skin that I didn't even know there was a hint of a pimple there and within two days of using it it cleared most of my major blemishes up. I thought it was super effective for me. I have been using Clinique Acne Free system for years and it works great but every 6 months or when I'm particularly stressed I find I need to switch it up and this works great.
You will see results but like everything you need to give it a chance to work. This starter kit is great to try out because the overall product is expensive.

Question
got allergic reaction from other products
I have had bad breakout on my chin area one after another since I hit 40, and I am really sad. When I used a prescription acne product with benzoyl proxide 2 years ago, my eye area swelled up like Ms. Marcus in the Dr. DoLittle 1. I have used the Murad acne line, which does not use Benzoyl Proxide, but it did not help my acne. So Last week, I tried a product on TV that contains Benzoyl Proxide but claimed it will not irritate the skin. Only after using 3 times, my face became Ms. Marcus again! I guess I am allergic to benzoyl proxide and should not use product with it at all! But I need something to get rid of my acne. Does this Phylosopy one work for me?

I definitely think you would do well with this system. On a Clear Day by Philosophy contains Salicylic Acid instead of Benzoyl Peroxide. Salycilic Acid is much gentler for your skin.

I am allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide so I always have a hard time finding something that will help my skin and be strong enough, this kit works really well I would definitely recommend it for you. Philosophy also make something that I swear by and killed my acne better than anything I have ever used, Microdelivery Peel. That peel is a two step peel and was the best thing for my skin ever. The peel is really intensive but does not make my skin puffy and red like anything with Benzoyl Peroxide. I use this kit along with the peel and my skin has changed entirely. I mean it changed my skin enough that my Husband actually commented on how nice it was looking.

It might help but if you have deep acne, I'd go to the doc and get some doxicycline (not sure the spelling). That's what I had to do and then the Philosophy will help maintain your clearer skin.

I have always used the foaming cleanser, and then the all over acne treatment on my cheeks and forehead because that's where I tend to break out. If you break out all over, I would suggest putting it all over your face. And then I only use the spot treatments on new blemishes or particularly stubborn areas. Then the clarifying lotion all over. I also use a moisturizer after all this and a scrub 3-4 times a week. I have found that the system works perfectly for my skin!!! Hope this helps :)

I only put the all over treatment on the areas that I'm prone to break out - along my chin and my forehead. I let that dry and then my last step was the spot treatment. That was the combo that worked well for me. Hope that helps!

Wash your entire face with the cleanser, then pat (not rub!!) dry. Do the all over acne, (a light coat). By the time you finish, your face should be dry. Put the spot treatment just on the pimples or where you see one starting. The put the clarifying lotion on the tips of your index & middle fingers, rub with your other index & middle, then lightly pat/dab on face (stay away from your eyes). Hope this helps!

Use the cleanser, as you have been doing, then se the all over face acne treatment, and then the spot treatment on your break outs, then follow up with the clarifying lotion. I use that whole regime at night but then use the Purity cleanser (which is not in this kit) in the morning, as it is more hydrating and less drying than the Clear Day wash. Then I follow that with a moisturizer (also not in this kit) prior to putting on my make up.

Hope that helps! :)

Use the foaming face wash in the morning and night. Next put the gel like cream, a thin layer all over. I apply the retinol to wrinkles/dark acne scars. The spot treatment is to be used on existing acne/bumps. If using these products twice a day dries your skin out, cut back to just the morning.

According to a Sephora employee, this set is replacing the acne kit. I checked on the Philosophy website to confirm, and it does list the On a Clear Day H2o2, protection cream, and super wash as discontinued items. What a bummer! I can only hope that they've upgraded...

My guess is that this is just more advanced in the clearing skin technology. I'm pretty sure the other kits will still be available, just this is more like a last resort. If this potent stuff doesn't clear up your face then its likely that there is somthing in your regular beauty routine that may be causeing the breakuots in addition to your regular break outs from hormons or from oil.

Question
What to use when?
I received this package as a present and I am very excited to use it. My only issue that I seem to be having is other than the facewash I don't know which product goes on next. I read the directions and it seems like all of them state to apply after washing face. Do I put all of the products on at once? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

A sephora employee told me how to use it. For day: After the cleanser you use the oil-free all over acne treatment, then the acne spot treatment and then a moisturizer. At night you should used those three again and then the clarifying lotion. Don't use the clarifying lotion in the day time, only for night. That's what I was told and it's working great!

I just started using this also, and this is how I do it:
I wash first, then apply the retinol clarifying lotion and give it a few minutes to dry,
Then I put on the all over acne treatment and let it dry, then the spot treatment.
My skin can't handle this product twice a day, so I do this regimen at night before bed and it's working out for me!!

I was just as confused about how to use the products. Because I'm dealing with a pretty bad breakout on my jawline and neck, I use all of the products at once. After the wash, I apply a thin layer of the All Over Treatment on the entire breakout area. I make sure to rub it in or else I find that it flakes during the day. Then, on top of the active acne I rub in the Spot Treatment. Then, on the areas that are healing, I rub in the Retinol Lotion. Because I wanted a little extra help with the acne, and I wanted to start working on fine lines, I finish the treatment off with Hope in a Bottle because it also contains salicylic acid.

So far, I am extremely happy with the results. I hope the products work well for you!

I would go slowly with the wash just based on my experience. The rest of the products I found were okay to use and didn't cause any irritation. I am mixing the retinol with the 369 omega oil and then applying it to my face so that might also make a difference! Hope that helps a little.

Like you, I have used proactiv before and it dried out my skin. I have fair and sensitive skin, and this kit seemed to dry out my face around my nose, mouth, and eyes. I added another moisturizer in addition to the kit, and after a few days the dryness and flakes are gone. I have adult acne and as far as clearing up my skin, this kit works good. I still break out some, but the kit helps stop a lot of my breakouts and helps reduce redness. I did not experience any stinging or irritation (I did with the other acne kit from philosophy). And the nice perk is you do not have to worry about the treatments bleaching your hair, like in the other kit. Hopes this helps.

I got this product because I am super sensitive to benzoyl peroxide and wasn't able to use proactive or the combination kits. This system has no b.p. And I haven't experienced the burning or dryness at all with it. I switch between the all over treatment and the clarifying lotion using one in am and one before bed just in case. Kit lasts longer than u might expect for the sizes. I've been using it for three weeks now. If u wear makeup you will need another cleanser for removing as this one is a light foam and doesn't take it off well. I broke out a bit more the first week but my skin is almost blemish free now.

In the a.m., I wash with the cleanser, apply the spot treatment, then the all over treatment and then a moisturizer with SPF. I found this to be the best routine to ensure my skin is getting enough anti-acne treatment without flaking.

I use Purity to remove my make up then follow with a medicated cleanser.
