Questions & Answers for Bliss Pore Perfecting Facial Polish

Question
Would this work as a once-daily cleanser for combo skin?
Would this work as a cleanser once daily for my combination skin? I was thinking of getting it to put in my shower as a face wash.

It won't work as a cleanser (it's a very thick paste that wouldn't get into your skin the way a cleanser would) but I do keep mine in the shower and the extra minute I spend (not to mention the money) has been well worth it. My skin is smoother (no dullness or even tiny dry flakes) for morning moisturizer and makeup.

No, it isn't. You will need to use a cleanser before you use this scrub.

I love this and keep it in my shower, but I still use my facial cleanser before I use this product. I use it about four times a week.

I don't think I would use this scrub more than a few times a week. Murad makes an excellent scrub that you could probably use daily (AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser).

This is just an exfoliator, not a face wash. I would recommend a gentle face wash to go along with this as well.

This item can be applied to clean skin 1-3 times per week. If used in the evening, you would need to cleanse with another cleanser before such as their Fabulous Foaming Face Wash. If used in the morning in the shower, the item can be applied without cleansing first.

I use the Bliss Pore Perfecting Facial Polish after washing my face with Philosophy's Purity cleanser. It has definitely worked with keeping my face smooth and tight, especially around my jaw line. I have also noticed that my pores appear smaller after I wash my face.

Although I do recommend using both products in the same routine, I don't recommend using both everyday. I use Philosophy everyday to cleanse my face, and Bliss every other day. I noticed that if I use Bliss too much, my skin starts to get very sensitive when I use the facial polish.

Hope that helps!

Unfortunately, it's not a cleanser and I wouldn't use it without a cleanser first. But it does do a good job of clearing away even my smallest visible dead skin flakes which would help keep your skin become clearer as well as provide a good clean slate to allow any of your treatment products to work. I use Philosophy Purity as a cleanser before the polish and have found that to be a great, non-irritating combination.

I wouldn't use this product as an everyday face wash. You don't want to be using something like this everyday because it may be to harsh for your skin. I use it about twice a week.

Yes and no, it does cleanse the skin, but its not a daily cleanser. In fact, you should use a gentle cleanser before doing any kind of exfoliation.

You don't want to use any face wash with beads in it with your Clarisonic. Just a face wash thats foaming or creamy, not exfoliating. Because the Clarisonic is already getting that dead skin off your face and if you add exfoliating beads to it, it can damage your skin.

You could probably use Dawn dish soap with a Clarisonic! LOL

But seriously, there isn't a lot of grain in this, it probably wouldn't translate well to a clarisonic.

How does it compare to Steep Clean Mask?
Has anyone tried both, and if so, what do you prefer? What is the difference between the two? I'm looking for a product to clean out/minimize my pores and also exfoliate. Thanks for your help :)

I've found that the mask is more of a treatment and this is more for maintenance. It won't have the same immediate punch as the mask, but over time I get better results with the polish.

answer 2
I think steep clean is good for getting the "gunk" out of pores and it does make your face feel smoother (great in summer). I picked up the pore perfecting polish because of dry winter skin and found it is better than the mask at removing dead skin. When I bought this, a sales rep suggested I use the pore polish to remove the mask to maximize the benefits of both products. The pore polish can be used multiple times a week and Steep Clean should only be used once or twice a week. They work well together and are both nice products but the pore polish is better for exfoliating and for "every day" use. Steep Clean is good for when your skin needs a little extra "oomph." If I had to choose between the two I'd pick the pore polish only because it is better at exfoliating, can be used more frequently, and you can feel it working because of the grains.

Question
Blackheads & Congested pores(tiny skin colored bumps)
I have a bunch of little bumps on my jawline and some black heads, I wash my face with bliss fabulous Face wash & DDF Foam Salicylic Acid, I was using the DDF sulfur mask once a week & also using this mask for spot treatment, it has not been very effective, so I discontinued using it and opted for DDF 5% Benzyol, this seems to have helped a little because it seems the little bumps are actually emerging, but it still looks bad. Because I have suspended using DDF sulfur mask& Boscia Black Mask, I was debating between this one Bliss Pore perfecting & Pores no more vacuum cleanser. Can anyone tell me what might help with my problem and make my pores smaller? Thank you!

I would try using this along with a green tea facial cleanser that also has tea tree oil. Those cleansers can be found in co-ops or other stores that sell all-natural products. It worked for my brother who had these type of problems all over his face.

It sounds like your really trying to get your acne and blackheads under control, but I have a few suggestions that you might want to try (it worked really well for me). I would incorporate this scrub or any scrub to your routine, as the 5% bp product is not really going to exfoliate the skin. Gently exfoliate often, and make sure you are moisturizing your skin, because BP is very effective, but also very drying. (look for a product with hydraluronic acid, it moisturizes well and will not cause breakouts- avoid mineral oil at all costs). The blackheads wont go away unless you have them extracted by a facialist, although this routine should help prevent new ones. One more thing, make sure your using a gentle sulfate free cleanser. Good luck, I hope this works for you as well as it has for me!

I think you'd be ok with this product. I have sensitive skin with rosacea, and I have found this product to be wonderful. I get the satisfying results of a scrub (I'm not a big fan of enzyme exfoliators) but without any irritation of my skin.

How does it compare to Laura Mercier Face Polish
I have used Lara Mercier's Face Polish for year sand love it. But it is pricey and hard to find. I am looking for a slightly less-expensive option with the same great exfoliating qualities including ability to use several times a week. How does this product compare?

I have not yet tried LM's scrub, but I can tell you that even though the suggested usage for Bliss is only a few times a week, I use a small amount of this daily and it has not caused any redness, sensitivity, or breakouts. I've just ordered my second tube so I can definitely recommend giving this one a try.
