It depends on the type of retinol product. If it is something your dermatoligist gave you, like Retin-A or Retin A micro, then yes, this would dry you out a bit more and also may make you peel. However, if it is a OTC (over the counter) product/serum with retinyl palmitate, which is is derivative of the pure form of Retinol, then you shouldn't have irritation or extra dryness. This has been my experience, but as always, check with your dermatologist or your esthetician. In all, this is one of the better serums I have used to help clarify my skin and lighten old acne dark spots. My skin has a new glow and is so soft. My esthetician has even noticed!
