Questions & Answers for Lancôme ÔSCILLATION - Vibrating Infinite Powermascara

Question
Does it curl?
I hate crimping my lashes every morning with an eyelash curler - it tugs on my lids and pinches them. Does this mascara significantly curl your lashes just by the oscillations?

No curling from this product. The formula is thinner, and provides a light coat. Often times that is the look I prefer. There are many mascaras that feature the curling aspect. They are thicker and from experience, more prone to clumping.

In my experience, it doesn't curl. You'll need to use an eyelash curler tool that you can purchase in any drugstore.

Omg. I think this product is better without a curler because it does that job for you.

I haven't found that this mascara adds significant curl to lashes. But if you don't like using a regular lash curler you may want to try one of the heated ones. I've found that it curls lashes better and that they stay curled longer. They're battery operated and don't crimp lashes to add curl. I got mine here on Sephora's Web Site (Professional Heated Lash Curler $16) Hope this helps.

When I apply my mascare, and I want to curl my lashes, I just stop the oscillation and hold the brush up against my lashes for a moment and it seems to curl them. I have never been one to curl my lashes with a curler. This mascara seems to lengthen my lashes so that people comment on the length rather than having to curl them.

Question
No battery!
My mascara didn't have a battery in it and so of course, it doesn't oscillate. It is hard to read the box to see what size of battery it takes. So what size battery does it take, and where do you get one. I was disappointed.

Did you pull off the tab to activate the battery? If so, this is clearly a defective product. Sephora will replace it without question. Return it!

You can't add a battery to it. If it doesn't work you should take it back. They're not rechargable.

Because mascara typically needs to be replaced in about three months, the battery expires after 3 months also. It simply needs to be replaced.

I'm not sure what battery size this mascara uses, I suggest either calling Lancome or stopping by one of their counters in a department store. They could help you better than anyone else as it's their product. However, I'm not sure the battery is supposed to be changed since it's only advisable to use mascara for a month or six weeks to avoid eye infections. That may be why the packaging doesn't give the battery size. And if you bought the mascara and the battery wasn't included I'd think you could exchange it for one with a battery.

answer 5
I don't really think it uses a battery you can replace, plus it should work when you buy it. I would honestly return it because it's not worth the price if it doesn't even vibrate. And the vibrating brush makes all the difference, so it's not really as good without it.

I called Lancome and was told they don't know the battery size. Any information is supposed to be in the insert included in the package, but I don't remember seeing anything about the battery size in mine. Your best bet is to return it to the store and see if they'll give you a new one.

You just place at base of lashes, pause for a second, then stroke upwards. You don't have to wiggle. Also, because the vibration is supposed to coat the lashes all the way around ("wrap every lash up to 360 degrees), you don't have to also apply mascara to the top side of lashes (the downstroke).

I would start by using the mascara without the vibrating effect...use it like any other mascara. When you have coated your lashes and have gotten the effect you are looking for, press the little button at the top and then coat your lashes again starting at the base and slowly moving the brush up towards the tips of your lashes. Hope this helps!

Just apply Oscillation as you would any other mascara, except hold the button down (I use either my thumb or my index finger) while applying it. There's no need to wiggle the wand, although sometimes I catch myself doing that out of habit, but no harm done. You can apply mascara to your outter lashes with or without the button held done, works either way. I hope this helps.

Yes! The vibration is activated by a little button on the handle that you must hold down while you apply. If you like the formula and comb but aren't happy with the oscillation, just don't press the button.

answer 4
To turn on the oscillation/ vibration you would need to push a button, but I think that it would give as much volume and length with a defined look because I have a similar mascara from Clinique and it has a brush on one side and a comb on the other and the comb, no matter which brand of mascara, always gives you a great length. So my answer is yes, yes it will.

Question
Does this mascara last throughout the day?
Many times I have found excellent mascaras with their only downfall being that they give me racoon eyes by the end of the day. I'm considering buying the Oscillation, however it's quite pricy so I don't want to purchase it if it won't last through the day.

This mascara will not make eyelashes fall off. It will actually help them from falling off because the zig zag motion will not be needed. It is very gently on the eyelashes.

I haven't had it long enough to know. But I have been told that if you use it everyday than the battery can run out -- get about 90 days out of it. But it can be replaced if you need it.

Question
Is this product oil-free?
I just received a set of eyelash extensions, and the girl who applied them said to use oil-free mascara; I was wondering if I can continue using the Lancome Oscillation mascara or Lancome Hypnose (as I have both of them), or if I need to buy something else?!

Thank you!
