What it is:A sheer cream blush. What it
does:Josie Maran Cream Blush is a weightless cream blush
that gives cheeks a sheer wash of color with a velvety,
airbrushed finish. This "no-mistake" blush
blends flawlessly into the skin. The innovative formula
contains Josie's signature ingredient, 100% pure
Argan oil, which replenishes and repairs skin cells. It
contains no fragrances or parabens. What it is formulated
WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates- Synthetic Fragrance-
Petro-Chemicals- PhthalatesWhat else you need to
know:Ingredients include organic pomegranate oil (a
protective antioxidant for the skin), organic coconut
oil (moisturizes the skin), and organic shea butter (to
protect the skin). What's more, the beauty extends
to the packaging, it's so chic and feminine, you
would never know it's made from biodegradable corn plastic.
It contains cocoa butter and coconut oil, which is rated somewhat high on the comedogenic rating scale, so there is a possibility that it could break you out. For me it is a no go since it contains cocoa butter and I know cocoa butter will break me out.
Cream blush can be applied with finger tips alone since it is not powder. Think of it as a lipstick textured cream but a lot less greasy. It is easy to blend and layer. Regular blush is usually applied with a brush and is powder. If you have very dry skin, cream may be the best option, but it works for all skin types because it does not crease on oily skin. The texture is quite unique, you should definitely give it a try!
How does this compare to Nars blush? I especially love Nars orgasm and amour, but I hate that Nars has so many chemicals in it! If Josie Maran's blush is as nice as Nars', I may just be sold!
This is a cream blush whereas Nars is a power blush. This Josie Maran blush is more like the Nars multiple sticks. Also, Nars orgasm has a lot of glitter particles in it, this one does not. It's a very natural color and can be used on lips as well.
I compared the colors between sunrise and sunset; Colors in the josie maran official website shows that sunrise is softer pink, and sunset is more intense coral pink. but sephora's colors show otherwise. I am looking for a soft pink color and I cannot determine which one I should take. thanks!
I would suggest trying the SUNRISE. It actually appears to be more beige than pink when you look at it but it is definitely a beautiful pink when you apply it to your cheeks. You can make your cheeks as pink as you like by layering the color. It always looks fresh and natural. I would also suggest the SUN KISSED to use as a cheek contour color.
