The one I have has a reflective cap. I mean you can see your lips in it, but it's not a traditional mirror. I'm not sure if this is how they always were, or if there was a real mirror at some point. Hope I helped!

No, it is not worth it if you are thinking about the product itself. You can find other more affordable lipsticks that are just as smooth and moisturizing. If you love luxury and great packaging along with a great product, then yes, it is worth it. Just a warning though, you wont be able to stop at just one.

These lipsticks are like butter, they're really creamy in texture and hydrating and have great color pay off. In my oppinion, they are well worth it, but I'm also a sucker for luxurious packaging. Only issue is that they are not long wearing, so for an every day lipstick it's probaly not the best option..but for a date night or a night out with friends, this looks great when you pull it out your purse! and good for those nights when you want to treat yourself with something luxurious and pretty or want to look extra special. Think of this lipstick like your favorite pair of heels you only wear to events so you don't ruin them!

I know exactly how you feel! I bought Lingerie Pink after watching tons of makeup gurus on Youtube rave about these YSL lipsticks. Personally, it is too drying and not long-wearing which is what I was looking for. However, it is true to color aka highly pigmented!

In my opinion, the only lipstick that's worth anything is Kiss Kiss by Guerlain. I've tried every line out there, from drugstore to designer and this lipstick is my hands down fav. It lasts, is creamy and doesn't bleed, and it doesn't taste or smell funny. I can use it in the morning and not touch up again until lunch. Every other lipstick [at least on me] is gone in an hour! At 30 bucks, they certainly are not cheap but when I think about all the ten dollar lipsticks that have failed me, I don't mind forking out the dough. I have about 8 colors and I love them all.

I would be very careful when wearing bold lipstick since you have full lips. I'm not saying don't do it, just do it right! I would personally recommend Route Pur Couture 1 Le Rouge or 13 Le Orange. The red would be great for a night out where as Le orange would be better for day time, something fun, flirty and sweet.

With Le Rouge, I would stay away from eye shadows. Stick with concealer, eye liner, and mascara. Clean Crisp eyes. Be sure to line them to help better define your eyes so as to balance your full, boldly colored lips.

With Le Orange, Again line the eyes but just the top lash line. Apply mascara as per usual, but because le orange is lighter, softer, you can do light shimmery eye shadows. Unfortunately, I cannot think of any colors off the top of my head but stick to neutrals or pale silvers. Nothing TOO bright, but think light and flirty.

Hope this helps!

I'm a fair-skinned, green-eyed brunette as well, and for bolder colors, I tend to favor red-plums. Red lipsticks can be a hit or miss, unless you find just the right shade. But plum tends to work nicely regardless. If you want a red, I'd recommend talking to a rep. at a makeup counter. They can make suggestions, and offer samples.
Hope you find that 'Just Right' shade. c:

Hi,
I would highly highly recommend the 18-Rouge Taboo. It is a true glamourous red, perfect for most skin tones. I am fair with medium blonde hair, deep blue eyes & fair skin (cooler, but with freckles, so it tends to look better with a golden glow) & this is the shade that I wear. It looks stunning. The Sephora swatch on the appears daker & a bit more blue than in actuality, but the true blue red is an accurate description. Good luck & I hope you love it!

Question
Which tone of the red?
I guess this question goes to the ones who had a chance of using the red tones of Rouge Volupte. I am getting married in January and I would like to have red lips. I have dark-intermediate complexion (Mediterranean type) , brown hair and brown eyes. Which one of these reds would you suggest for me for my wedding? I am thinking of the true red one but I could not decide based on these color charts and there is no store around here which carries YSL.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

The true red should look wonderful on you, but I think you could also, being of olive skin, use the orangy-red Red Muse shade and look equally beautiful. For a comparison you can google the shade names, and find someone wearing it who matches your skin type. There are usually lots of examples. If in doubt, I would recommend the true red, Red Taboo, as it seems to look amazing on everyone! Congratulations and I hope you have a wonderful wedding day!

Sephora is SUPER good when it comes to returns. They'll refund your money for any purchase that turns out not to be exactly right for you, no matter what the reason is. Since you are talking about your WEDDING after all (congratulations!!!!), I would really take the plunge and order a couple of different shades. Try them on in the same light you'll be seen in at your wedding venue AND have someone shoot some digital photos of you wearing each shade. That way you'll definitely find the best red BOTH for the venue AND for the photos. I wish you & your fiance a lifetime of happiness!

Congratulations bride-to-be! I completely understand your desire to find the most suitable red as I, too, have brown eyes, dark hair, and medium skin. I would recommend Red Taboo (#18) as it is a true red with blue undertones. A red with blue undertones makes your teeth appear their whitest, which is great for when you're smiling for pictures on your big day. In addition, a red with blue undertones will NOT be coral-red or orangey-red. When I use Red Taboo, it just makes my face and coloring appear its brightest and it really complements Mediterranean women!
I hope this helped. Good luck! :)

If you're looking for a good red, I recommend Red Taboo. It's a true red, with a blue base, and is the best match for those with fair complections (I am light blond, blue eyed, and light skinned). Be cautious about using Red Muse -even though the two are close in color - because it has an orange base that can clash with fair skin and hair/eyes.

Lucky! With neutral undertones, you can wear almost any color! I have Red Taboo (red with blue undertones) and it is gorgeous! It brought out my pink undertones, so if you like the pinker tones in your skin to come out, this is a great color. You cannot really go wrong with the formulation of this lipstick, though. It feels so amazing! Other than this, I don't have anything else for you. Happy color hunting!

I totally agree with the previous 2 suggestions, BUT they're not QUITE red -- one is the loveliest hot coral color on earth & the other is a rock 'em sock 'em hot hot HOT pink. If you're looking for a true red, #16 Red Tempation is probably your best bet. I'm as pale as a vampire myself so believe me, I DO understand where you're coming from! (If #16 is still a little bit too much for your pale skin, try topping it with a coat of lipgloss in a slightly contrasting (lighter or darker, warmer or cooler) tone. You'll still get that pure red color effect, with a scarcely visible undertone that will make the red that much easier for your pale complexion to "get away with." Best of luck! I hope you try #16 & that you love it!
