Questions & Answers for Yves Saint Laurent GOLDEN GLOSS - Shimmering Lip Gloss

Question
How sheer?
I'm leaning towards the burgandy plum color, but only if it's a good, sheer color and not too much color. i don't look good in nudes or pinks, but prefer raisin colors. Does anyone out there have this color or can make a recommendation? thanks:)

It's actually a lot more pigmented than you would expect a lipgloss to be. That color would have some nice payoff.

I got the burgandy (Pebble) color because it is very sheer. I didn't want anything too dramatic but still wanted a deeper shade. At first application it looks kind of dark, but once you rub your lips together to blend it lightens up. A little goes a long way. It's tempting to apply more b/c it tastes so good! I really like the color and I usually only wear lighter beige/nudes.

I think Golden Fusha would be lovely on dark skin. You could add a light pink lip tint under it to get the pink color you want. I love to use lip tints with Golden Gloss, I get compiments every time. Creats a "WOW" effect.

I would try either #19 Golden Petal or #14 Golden Purple. But if there is a Sephora in your are I would just go to a store and sample all the YSL Lip gloss' until you find the one that you fall in love with. Hope this helps!

Praline doesn't look good on everyone. Maybe some people. I bought it cuz I read that comment somewhere, and I was SORRY I did. It is a weird warm brown and made my lips dirt brown with gold glitter. Yuck. I would say if a person has golden tanish olivish undertones to stay away from this one, unless you use a lipstick under it. One of the worst colors in this line in my opinion. Pink at least brings out your flushy cheeks, praline brings out the brown in my complexion, not pretty.

I have a different answer than the others who responded...
#2 Golden Praline is a warm, neutral pink that looks good on everyone. It is always out for display at the YSL counters in major department stores & featured often at Sephora. NOTE: It is the color featured above. You can't go wrong with this one & I often buy this color as gifts since it is a "universal color" so my friends can get addicted too! You will LOVE it!

Unless you like very very bright hot pink, stay away from Golden Berry. I might suggest the Garnet one for you, if you like more burgundy pink, try the Golden Plum.

This is quite sheer, but there are some lovely pink shades that might work for you. I would guess that Golden Pink or Golden Garnet might be what you are looking for. They should look quite pretty with your skin tone.

Let me start by saying I am 55 so I understand. this is so pretty and very light! It doesn't run or smear. I like to use it alone or over a pretty pencil it has a pink nude effect so you can use it over a couple of different colors. It has essential oils also so it makes your lips nice and soft. Try you know if you don't like it Sephora will always help you get it right. There's a pretty golden lavender color too.

This gloss for the most part does not bleed or feather but you will need to reapply after a cocktail and dinner. It is not sticky like some colorstay versions. It is a very flattering shade no matter what skin color and I prefer its application brush rather than an applicator sponge tip.

I am not a lipstick person so maybe I am biased. I do love to play up my lips so I wear gloss. Not just any gloss though. They have to have the right feel, color, and staying power. This gloss is my favorite. It slowing sinks in and your lips stay hydrated. With lipstick you have to reapply and they dry my lips out. This gloss is a real treat.

I have simply golden and it really does not have very much color to it by itself if thatbis what you are going for. It is better if you want your lips to stay moisturizer however.

These glosses are pretty true to color (swatches) if you want a more delicate, innocent look go with the Golden Peony. So you have a fair complection, with your dark hair you could pull off wearing the Golden Pink. I think it would be a nice contrast and would give you a little more "vavoom" than the Golden Peony. Hope this helps.

This seems to be too light of a color for someone with your coloration, but if you need to use it, I'd slap concealer or a really heavy base of a very light shade of lip pencil in that is lighter than your skintone.
