Questions & Answers for MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation

Question
Does this oxidize?
Within a year I wouldn't even end up using a quarter of the bottle of my foundations however I'd have to repurchase because they would oxidize (become darker and change their shade). I know that makeup forever full cover concealer also has this effect. I was wondering if this foundation will do the same. How long before I should throw it out and repurchase a new one? I make sure to put it back in the box after each use in hopes to prevent this process. For reference, the foundations I used in the past were Sephora brand, not makeup forever. Any advice or input would be appreciated!

Similar to this product but with SPF is Shiseido The Makeup Dual Balancing Foundation. In MUFE HD foundation I wear shade 128. The equivalent shade in Shiseido Dual Balancing is O60.

answer 2
You shouldn't rely on any foundation/CC/BB creams for SPF.
Most of them will provide UVB protection, but not UVA.
plus you have to be putting aLOT of the product to get an adequate protection if you're outside a lot.
better to use a light weight sunscreen like Algenist or Lancome oil free one

It is not waterproof. If you sweat a lot while you are wearing this foundation, it will fade quickly.

Hi Calrog8,

We suggest the MAKE UP FOR EVER Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation which is water resistant.

Question
What shade would be closest to L'Oreal's Visable Lift Soft Ivory?
This foundation was recommended by a professional makeup artist. However I see that you have different types. I am 60 years old, not a lot of wrinkles, some age spots, have great ivory skin.

the easiest thing to do is hold a white sheet of paper up to your face in front of a mirror. If you look pinker than the paper, you have cool undertones. Yellowish, then you have warm undertones. If you can't tell, you're neutral. Another way is if you tan, you have warm, if you don't you have cool, or if it depends you are neutral. Last way is if you like yourself in silver jewelry you have cool, gold is warm, both and you're neutral. Hope this helps :)

Get a color check at your nearest Sephora. They would match your exact skin tone and give you a sample of it. Take it home and try it for a couple of days and see the results. If you're not happy with the results you can always come back and get another color swatch done.

Samples are a great way to try new products and we include three complimentary samples with every merchandise order at Sephora.com. To view our current selection of samples, click on the link for Today's Free Samples on the Sephora.com home page. The choices change frequently, so check back often to see what we're offering now.
Another great way to try new products is to visit your local Sephora store. At the store, a Cast Member can make a tester for you of any products that we carry. They can also answer questions for you and make recommendations for other products. At this time we are unable to send samples outside of a merchandise order and thank you for your understanding.

Question
Product moving/melting
Hello, I want to start begin by writing that I absolutely love love love this foundation. I use 130. My skin is normal to a bit oily (very very slightly) and I live in Houston where it is very humid most of the year. I find that as the day goes on, the product seems to move or melt and looks pretty bad under certain lighting or outdoors. I find it easy to lightly rub with my finger tip and apply powder over it (Laura Geller) and it is tolerable or if I reapply foundation again just touching up with a sponge it is fresh looking again but I don't want to have to carry foundation with me or worry about it sliding. Can you suggest a reason that it may be moving and what I can do to keep it in place from the beginning?

I set mine with translucent powder (Makeup Forever HD Microfinish or Tarte Finishing Powder) and kind of press it into my skin and then dust it off and it really makes it last! Even without a primer.

Are you using a primer before applying your foundation? If so, I believe MUF makes a matte/ velvet version of this foundation that would help your oily skin. Good luck!

Question
If i want to order this product online, how should I go about ordering the right shade for my skin tone?
I have green eyes and brown hair, I would also say my skin tone is light-medium, I'm just not sure of what the undertones are. Is there a good light-medium shade of this product that would work for my skin even if I dont know the colors of my undertone?

I had the same issue. In all honesty you just have to eyeball it. Try estimating the shade closest to your skin, order it, or maybe order a few and see which one looks best then return the other ones. But to tell you the truth, I always ordered mine online, thought it looked great but when I finally went into the store I ended up being like 5 shades too light. So definitely go in person when you can!
