It works like any other pencil sharpener. Are you confused about the cap that covers the sharpener end? That needs to be removed before you can use it.

I use it on "makeupforever" and mary kay - I was told by the salesperson that it works on ALL eye pencils - hey - good news is - try it - at Sephora if it doesn't work right for you - you can return it - GO FOR IT - it is a cool invention
