This product is ideal for sensitive skin. In fact, I believe that using it decreases the sensitivity of my skin. The texture is refined and whipped, the fragrance is light yet refreshing, and the cooling sensation is incredibly calming. I have purchased this product several times and believe that it is worth the money (A little goes a long way too.) As we approach winter, now may be the best time to try the mask. Good luck!

In the winter, or when I have a dry-skin problem, I leave it on a looonng time. I have acne-prone skin and this has never made me break out. Even when its left on for hours. During the summer, when my skin is 'normal' I use it every couple weeks, for 5 min on average. If I have too much sun exposure I'll use it for longer than recommended - maybe 15-20 minutes. It feels and smells really soothing so I enjoy longer treatments.

the instructions say 5-8 minutes but i like leaving it on longer (because I tend to get side-tracked). but this is one of the few products that doesn't dry or damage if left on longer than prescribed.

Yes, it is very gentle... all products by Fresh are great for sensitive skin, especially the Soy Cleaner and everything in the Soy line. With the Black Tea mask you will feel a little tingle, like fingers gently massaging your skin. It helped heal existing blemishes by hydrating my skin and evening out my skin tone. I would take a sample home, or buy the Black Tea set for $80 - you get the Soy Cleanser, full size Eye cream (#1 all inclusive eye cream in all of Sephora!) plus a generous sample of the BLack Tea mask and Black Tea Cream, in an awesome black makeup bag. Also, try the Creme Ancienne for eczema. It's a bit expensive but totally worth it, heals and soothes the skin.

The product IS velvelty for sure! It's like mashed potatoes but not as lumpy. Very light, doesn't harden in its container. Goes on like a thick moisturizer and stays quite wet for the 5-8 minutes it's on your face.

I'm wearing it right now; it smells like flowers (: and lychee which is said to be a main ingredient (very impressed that it actually smells like it is, not just a fake chemical)!

I think you got a bad batch. Are you sure its the Instant Perfecting Mask? If it is I would take it back to the store for an exchange ASAP. This is a great product, but it is supposed to be soft in texture.

Now, I will say that it may look a but rough when you glance in the jar, like it could look grainy (it doesn't look like a whipped face cream), but it shouldn't feel like a scrub or an exfoliator.

I don't think it is, but the scent could be from the actual active ingredients, not an added chemical. I used this when I had chemical burns on my face and I never had a bad reaction - quite the opposite! This saved my face and cleared up the damaged skin beautifully.

I actually did not like the Pangea mask--it was more intense (in color, fragrance, and effect) and left my skin red after I washed it off after 10 minutes. I definitely recommend Fresh's black tea mask instead. Although pricier initially, Fresh will also last much longer than Pangea.

The difference between Pangea and the Black Tea Mask is night and day. The Pangea is more like a scrub type of mask (has very large and messy seeds) and the Black Tea is a mask, more soothing.

I would say use this mask - I have older (low 40's), oily skin with frequent breakouts, but this mask is not only hydrating, it also exfoliates in a very gentle way. I thoroughly cleanse my face before using the mask, and rinse the mask off afterwards (if I mask before bedtime) or wash it off using a gentle facial cleanser (if I mask before applying makeup for the day).

You should not ever skip your moisturizer. It's easily the best way to keep your skin looking flawless in your later stages of life, as well as sun protection.

There is no recommended skin type for this product, but Fresh products tend to be popular for those with sensitive skin issues, as well as those who like to avoid chemicals and synthetic ingredients. I would personally recommend the Black Tea Mask for any skin type or skin concern, as it primarily boosts radiance, hydrates the skin, and smooths out the surface- solutions for all skin!

BT Perfecting Mask is not specified for a specific skin type. I'm currently using it, but waiting to write my review. That said, my skin is normal, and can get dry at times, is sensitive to chemicals and scents and I always have a huge pimple right before my monthly visit from "Aunt Flow". The mask works just as described: It helps create softer, smoothed hydrated skin and reveals a more radiant complexion. On me, it so far has done just that and I would say it would work for any skin type. I hope that helps.

I doubt it. The Clarisonic used with Philosophy's Purity, Peter Thomas Roth's Pumpkin Enzyme Peel, and Murad's Active Radiance Serum combined with a couple professional light/medium chemical peels have done wonders on my acne. he combo of products has been better than anything prescribed or suggested by the several Dermatologists I have seen. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if the BT Perfecting Mask would clear up acne, but* Fresh's Umbrian Clay Mask works wonders for acne and is gentle. I'd recommend that instead for acne. The Perfecting Mask is more of a rejuvenating treatment instead of drawing impurities out like the UC Mask does. I hope that helps. BOTH are great products and worth buying.
