its main source of exfoliation is natural sugar crystals(softer) not a sand or salt type product, so it shouldn't; however, the product is used around the cuticles, palms and back of hands so you really aren't getting that much scrubbing action on the polish surface anyway. I have never noticed it messing up my manicure but you can try it in the store near the the time you are getting ready to redo your nails. The oils leave your skin smooth and hydrated without feeling greasy. This product is the first scrub I have found that is made specifically for hands! So its not too harsh and I use it daily during my morning shower. You do have to be careful that you don't slip from the oil that is on the shower floor.

I wouldnt recommend that. You should probably use this scrub before you get a manicure.

Definitely! I ALWAYS have my nails done, and I'm a stickler for no chipping whatsoever. This is perfectly fine to use over it - I even make sure to get right at my cuticle base, and my nail polish holds up perfectly fine!

I used it right over the top of my french manicured acrylic nails! They were just as beautiful when I finished as when I started AND my hands matched!!!

I used it over nail polish without even a clear top coat and it didn't mess it up at all. I dont know about fake nails, probably wouldnt hurt them either.
