Yes, you should have received a small dropper in the box. Even the directions state to discard the lid and screw on the dropper lid. Try returning your product for a new box.

It actually comes with a dropper. When I got mine it was just a lid, but the dropper was in the box and you had to change it out.

The bottle should definitely come with a dropper inside the cap that requires no assembly. I have been through several bottles and have always had the dropper. If you are reluctant to return the product, a dropper would be an excellent choice to not waste the valuable product. Droppers can be found in pharmacies and the medical supply sections of drugstores.

There is usually a dropper in the box with the bottle. It comes with a regular cap on it and the dropper part loose in the box. Maybe you tossed it out by mistake?

Sorry you had that problem... it has worked great for me so far. I bought this product in the store and it came with the dropper! The dropper is a must as it would be really hard with wet nail polish on to have to try to poor it out or something. The dropper it comes with makes it really user friendly. I would return it and ask for one with the dropper as it should have it. :)

Yes it has a dropper it is hard to see it in the package the bottle comes with a plain screw on top and the dropper is in the box.

Check to see if there's a dropper in the box. You have to attach the dropper. If there wasn't a dropper, the store should be able to give you a new one. You should use the dropper to control the drop.

I put a base coat, a light matte color coat, and a light glitter coat and after about an hour of waiting, I was getting heading for work and 8 out of 10 nails smudged big time. I was also using nail polish from Sephora OPI. I had to stop on my way to work to the drugstore to purchase nail polish remover. I also left a review of this. Anyway, I returned the product

No it is not you. I thought this stuff was great until I went to bed hours much much later in the night.

Don't think this product works the way it should. It does dry nails but when you add on the layers you need it ends up not really working

Maybe it was the polish? I only say that because I've never had that happen to me before and the only polish I use is the SEPHORA by OPI Nail Polish. Sorry that happened to you. :/ I hate when I smudge my nails, it drives me insane.

I don't think it was the drops, I washed my face abotu 30 minutes after apply polish and the drops and had no smudging. Did you put lotion on your hands at the beginning of the manicure? That could prevent the polish from setting. If you put lotion on your hands, try using nail polish remover to take it off your nails before applying your base coat.

I have never had ANY polish smudge because of the brand; however, it sounds like there was a lot of product on there (which is pretty much completley normal). Nails actually need hours and hours to dry, so a hot shower in even 2 hours can be detrimental. Try soaking the dry nails in super cold water to set them after all steps are complete. Most mistakes are made, especially on pedis after "thinking" that the nails are dry enough.

i've showered after using it and it's never been an issue with me :) i would think it's the polish. were your nails acrylic? i don't know if that has anything to do with it because mine are natural.

Did the salon put any kind of oil after applying your polish? Sometimes they do that at the salon I use (if I forget to stop them) and it takes FOREVER for my polish to really dry & "set"-even if I use the drying drops.

You didn't follow directions. DO NOT USE THE NAIL DRYER!!!!! The drops dry your polish- heat just made your polish "gooky" with the drying drops on top!

Just substandard polish or you used the drops to dry each coat! I have used this OPI product for years and this has never happened. Did you make sure each coat was dry before applying the next? Use OPI drying drops ONLY on the last coat.

If your manicure was in a shop, this might apply: A manicurist I know told me that some of the places where she's worked dilute the polish itself with a tiny bit of nail polish remover to make the polish in the bottle last longer (and in some cases, to make the manicure itself last for a shorter time so customer will come back more frequently). If you visited a salon that did something like - and apparently it's done in some quite frequently - the drops might have created some sort of chemical reaction with the remover.

The other thing I found with heat for drying many years ago is that I might go home, make dinner, and then go to bed, all the while thinking my polish was dry. In the morning, I'd wake up with the impression of the blanket weave in my nails. It happened a few times and then I stopped using heat for drying. I don't think it really helps secure nails.

These days I just use polish straight - no base or top coat usually, and I find my polish dries quickly, and doesn't smear or smooch. I usually mostly the Sephora and NARS polishes and occasionally something else.

i've found the drops work really well with 'sephora by opi' products but not so great with some other brands (with different formulations, i assume). maybe that was the problem...

You can use on normal polish. Top coat is clear and dries a bit harder to protect your polish. It is recommended you use a top coat just to keep the lacquer from chipping or peeling due to wear and tear but is not required.

I was wondering about that as well. On the box it says to use a topcoat, however since the goal here is to save time not waste more, i tried using them directly after my nailpolish and it was fine. I'd say that this product could just be considered a topcoat as well since it hardened the nail in about one minute and looked shiny afterward. My manicure lasted about a week with no chips. I would say go ahead and just use it directly after your polish.

On each coat of nail polish I applied the nail drops. After three coats, I did not apply a clear top coat. Love the way my nails look.

Applying a Top Coat is always best, but this will still dry the color nicely if one is not used. However; only a Top Coat can protect polish for a decent period of time.

It is always a better manicure to have a top coat, but you can just dry your polish. NO NAIL DRYER- you will defeat the purpose.

Yes, you CAN simply use it over pigmented polish -- a topcoat is not necessary to make the drying drops work. Whether or not a topcoat is, in general, necessary, is up for debate. Personally, I prefer to use topcoats. Others don't like them. It's a matter of preference.

I personally don't think you NEED a top coat, but it certainly adds a nice boost of shine and I've had better results with top coats.

The directions state clearly to use a base and top coat with your polish. That is how I've always done it and the products has worked perfectly every time.

Use this with a Top Coat, unless the formula of nail polish you are using specifically states not to (like Matte colors). Treat the top coat like any other and wait 2 minutes before applying.

it works fine just on top of the nail polish :) top coat just makes the nail polish stay on longer and i usually add it after the drip dry drops :)

I dont know I ALWAYS do a top coat so I am not sure if this will help you or not. But it has worked great on my top coats. I always do two layers of polish color then top coat with the quick dry on it. :)

I very rarely use a topcoat. I've found this to be awesome on the slower drying older nail polishes I have. Some of the newer ones I have dry so fast they don't need it. Personally, I've found that my polish used to chip more when I wore a topcoat as compared to when I don't. I rarely have chips when I do NOT use top or base coats. Regardless, this is awesome. I had a few really old polishes I liked, and they took forever to dry. This takes care of the problem.

I'm pretty sure the Sephora by OPI drying drops are exactly the same as the regular OPI drying drops. I actually bought the 1 oz bottle from Ulta and compared it to the tester bottle sold in Sephora, and it seemed like exactly the same product.

While the bottle isn't big, very little product is used during each application. I would imagine it would last for a very long time, making it pretty cheap.

The product seems to go quickly, especially since I love using it so much. I estimate that I have used it on 10 or more applications of nail polish. I admit that I use too many drops to make it easier, but holding your finger at an angle and using the 2 drop maximum really helps it to last.

I think it evaporated. It's not because I didn't tightly close the bottle, because I made sure everytime and nothing leaked out. The next time I went to use it however, I noticed more and more would be gone until it was eventually all gone. I don't paint my nails to often so I felt like I should have lasted way longer than six months. I probably paint my nails twice a month,if that. I guess it evaporated.

I'd say it depends on how often you do your nails and how long your fingernails are. For me, each bottle has lasted at least 4 months. I do my fingernails (very short) and toenails once every 2-3 weeks. Since you only need 1-2 drops per nail, you really can stretch out each bottle.

Its a small bottle, but you only have to use one or two drops per nail...I have used it twice now-on hands and toes, and doesn't look like very much is even gone.

It is not a top coat it just goes on and helps them dry faster you put it on over the top coat and it takes a few min to dry.

This product can be used on any type of nail. Most acrylics that are used at nicer salons are not affected by many products, nor are gel nails. These should not be used with matte colors, as the formula requires no top coat.

While I don't get acrylics anymore, I used to wear them all the time. I see no reason why these would have ruined my acrylics. The drops simply coat the layer of nail polish on top. Additionally, they are not harsh chemically (or at least don't feel that way even on my sensitive skin).

No, you only need to apply it after your top coat. Otherwise the drops will get between the layers and cause it to peel. If you are doing so many layers of polish, it will dry the top coats down to touchable, but the layers beneath will still be soft and prone to marring if you do too much with them. For the most part, wait 15 minutes and you should be good to go.

I did not use a base coat. Added the drops after each coat of nail polish and at the end did not use a top coat. If you still want to use a top coat I think it is o.k. but adding any more might be to much.

No, only apply it after your Top Coat if you use Top Coat. If you don't, then apply it after your last coat of Color. But, wait a minute or two for the Top Coat or Color to dry, then use 1 - 3 drops on your nails depending on the nail size. :]

There is no need to apply after every coat. It takes patience, but each coat must be protected in steps by allowing sufficient time to dry in between various coats (2 minutes). If this is followed, the nail drops are very effective, even after multiple steps. I have used them after multiple steps on fingers or toes, but only after waiting long enough to apply.

No, you're not supposed to apply after every coat. I don't understand what the point of a quick-dry product where you have to wait for at least three layers of polish to dry before even applying the top coat is. It didn't work for me either.

You have to wait at least one minute in between each coat. I use two drops per nail, one near the tip and one near the base.

I do one coat then wait a minute the the next coat then wait a min then the top coat then drops. It has worked for me ok you still need to be careful though and wait like 20 min before you do hard stuff with your hands as the bottom coats will not be fully hard set. The drops just make the top layer hard quicker so that you can move and use your hands but be cautious still for a bit till they set.

No your color won't stick if you use it after every coat. You apply this after your last coat of whatever you are using but make sure you still let everything dry five minutes between application of base coat then another 5 after you apply color and then one minute before you put on drying drops as last step.

The directions say to wait a minute or so before applying the drops after you've finished applying all the nail polish (base coat, nail color, top coat, etc) before applying the oil drops onto your nails. From my experience, I paint my nails, wait at least a minute and apply the drops afterwards. This usually works for me (I haven't had anything go wrong so far).

I've not had problems with bubbles. I've been using them after applying OPI base coat, two coats of Illamasqua varnish, and one coat of OPI top coat. I wait 60 seconds between applying the top coat and the drops, per the instructions. I hold the dropper really close to my nail and tilt my nail around so the drops completely cover it. It could be because your using so many layers on your nails... or possibly the top coat your using doesn't mesh well with the drops? I never get bubbles with this product because I just put on the color no base or top coat.... try that and see if it works better?

Are you letting the top coat dry a little bit? I've never had that problem, but I let everything dry for 5 minutes or so.

You need to wait a few minutes before applying the drops. The bubbles happen because the top layer of polish dries faster than the lower layer. Your body heat causes bubbles to rise in the lower layer of polish. Fix = wait 5 minutes or so before applying drops.

I used two coats of OPI polish, then the drops & I did not get any bubbles.
