For the most part I would say it's a very light nude/milky color. I can barely tell I'm wearing it and I have a light/medium skintone.

Appearance Under Nail Polish?
I noticed it said this could be used as a base coat, but it looks like a very nude pale color online....so if used as a base coat, is it noticeable under the nail polish?

It works great as a base coat, or on its own. I've had no problems with colour dilution in the case of the former.

It was not noticeable under my nail polish. It goes on very opaque. I did find this product very drying to the point that it made several nails peel.

I have, and I prefer this product. They are on the same level as far as strengthening goes (Naily Envy really is fab) but I give this one the edge because of price-point.

This does not have Formaldyhyde in it, which Nail Envy does (I think the orange label does not have it). I have not noticed a difference in my nails with the Nail Envy, PLUS, you have to repeat it every other day for a week. With this Nail Strengthener by OPI, I feel like my nails stay smoother after I take it off. My opinion, it doesn't take too long to dry. I don't know why OPI says they're 3 free, because they are not completely 3 free with the Nail Envy (false advertising-which I guess every company does), but I didn't notice any difference (other than the Nail Envy is a pain in the butt to apply!).

i am a big fan of nail envy and this seems to be about as good. it doesn't dry as quickly and is a little glossier than the original, but otherwise it feels like it gives strength to my nails. one thing i didn't adore about nail envy is that it yellowed within a few days. this seems not to have that issue.

The nail strengthener by OPI is great to prevent the breaks and peeling of nails from life. It's great to use under polish as base coats to harden the nail more and does not contain formaldehyde.

In my experience, keeping a strengthener on your nails will definitely help prevent all the little breaks you get with 'unprotected' nails, which should help you grow them out!

It does not make them grow more quickly. However, it improves the strength and overall quality of the nail, so your nails won't break as often and lets them grow longer than usual. I do have pretty brittle and weak though, and it has improved my nail growth so much.

Question
I have Peeling nails
I am looking for a product that will stop my nails from peeling. One person said this product made her nails peel so I don't think this is what I need. I have used Nail Envy by OPI and the peeling has not stopped. Can you recomment any other product specifically for peeling?

Oh I forgot to add this to me answer just now.....also buy some cuticle oil and be faithful to it every night at bedtime. Your cuticle condition also matters to how healthy your nails are. So if your cuticles are moisturized and healthy your nails will most likely be too. I love CND's Solar Oil and China Glaze's Orange Oil. IMO, the CND absorbs the fastest. But any cuticle oil(make sure that it does not contain just glamorized mineral oil!!) is gonna be great too ;)

I too have naturally very paper thin peeling nails. The first thing you have to do is buy a glass/crystal nail file!! The regular emery boards just rip our thin nails to pieces(I wish I knew this a long time ago too!;)
I used NailTek II Foundation for 2 weeks while adding a new coat on top of the first 2,every 2 days at first. Then I just used a thin coat as a base coat under my OPI lacquers and eventually they got better. Your old growth may peel and will probably crack off(that goes for most strengtheners but,NailTekII seemed better and I had less peeling while the new grew out finally)...don't worry and just let the newer treated growth grow out.
Also buy some Biotin pills and take 1-2 everyday. This all will work for you...if my thin easily bendable even backwards can be stronger and longer...I am sure yours can too! :) P.S. Run and go buy you a glass/crystal file right now! (I love Essie's filesthe best cuz they are stronger feeling...but OPI's are great too)
Hope this Helps Someone

You may need to look at what is causing the peeling of your nails. I had to begin using gloves to wash dishes or clean bathrooms. I've also been diligent at looking at ingredients in soaps because that also can cause excessive dryness which leads to peeling. Plus being very careful about what kinds of polishes and removers that don't have acetone and formaldehyde in them.
These products work to protect but they're not miracle workers if you're treating them roughly.

I have used nail envy also and was dissapointed because of the peeling. I have been using the strengthener for a couple of weeks now and it is amazing. My nails have NEVER been this good. I don't have to hide them in my shirt sleeves or my pockets anymore. It's totally worth trying!

I'm no expert, but I would say use one at a time. It's best for the solution to make direct contact with your nails rather than mix with another formula. Maybe alternate, two days strenghthener and two days hydrator. Or pick which is the bigger problem and tackle that one first. Hope this helps.
