i have a basic sharpener that i actually bought at sephora. it has two sizes - the smaller sharpener works perfectly!

I used a regular sharpener and it worked fine, but it's hard to get a good point. I think it's because the pencil is kind of soft and waxy.

This does seem to take a special type of sharpener, which I have. It isn't a wooden pencil - more like a plastic-type material, so it's a bit harder than wood, so you need a really sharp type of sharpener. Sorry I don't know the name of mine. Call Sephora and speak with one of their Customer Service people, who should be able to help you.

Any make up pencil sharpener should work. The one I use is at least 15 years old (Garden Botanika) which has the two sizes - use the smaller size.

I was using a pencil sharpener from studio gear that works well, unfortunately I lost that one. I recently purchased a pencil sharpener from sephora call Anastasia which seems to be working well.
