I use the fair foundation in just about every brand I've ever used (and occasionally, even fair is too dark!) and I think they're awesome on me. The 1980s eyecolor is very light, especially dry. You can foil it for a much more dramatic effect, but I think you'd be surprised by how subtle it can be. Besides, Sephora's got an awesome return policy if you're really unhappy.

No worries. Mineral eyeshadow is buildable so you can go as light or dark with it as you want. Also keep in mind that this kit has colors that are great for EVERYONE! If you want to go bold then just apply alittle more eyeshadow. I love the contrast of bold eyes with fair skin.

Hello I have medium sking so I am not quite sure about very pale skin but you can put this on lightly, ie without using the water and I am pretty sure it wouldnt be so overpowering. I love the set tho!!!

Question
The Difference?
I have two eyeshadows that I already use for the "smoky eye" look which is a glittery black and a charcoal gray. How does this product differ than regular eye shadows? I've always wanted to achieve the sexy rockstar look.

The hue of the colors are amazing and if you try them you will see the diference. No other shadows have the intensity of this kit believe me!!!

I think that it's really the brush, more than the shadows themselves. The brush lets you apply the colors for a sheer or dark effect. It also lets you line precisely or smudgy. Honestly, I would have bought this kit for the brush alone.

The main difference is that these eye shadows are Bare Minerals and the kit comes with directions. If you're already satisfied with your smokey eye look, you don't really need the kit; but if you want to try really smooth, blendable eye shadows, definitely try the Bare Minerals.

I don't think this would be too much during the day. Like all the other mineral powders this can be as subtle or dramatic as you like. I love this kit- it just gives me a kick when i use it.

Question
is this kit different from the eyelining tutorial
I have the eyelining tutorial with a sparkly black and a flat brown color, with the interchangeable brushes but I was wondering if this kit is worth getting too. I am fair with light eyes(greenish blue). I have been admiring kit for a while but am unsure since it seems to be similar to the other kit.

yes, this is different from the eyelining tutorial. all the shadows, even the black, have some shimmer to them and this is for a dramatic all over eye look. you can mix it up and use it dry or wet for eyes that really pop or a more subtle shimmery sultry look. this kit is my favorite from BE so far, and it makes me feel like the center of attention when I use it. since you are fairer skinned than me, you won't have to use as much to get the same effect so the kit will last forever, and the brush is amazing, its easy to get the detail you want. go for this one, its worth it unlike the smokey v eye tutorial that's just messy if you use the brush.

Smearing?
Does this product smear easily? How long do you estimate it would last during school?

If you use the "swirl and tap" technique, you won't get powder falling under your eyes as you apply it. That is TOTALLY ANNOYING and you can't easily brush it away. Also, I prefer to use the kit and THEN put on my foundation and concealer - I can clean up any "mess" before I do the rest of my makeup. I put this makeup on at 11 a.m .and then did three dance performances and didn't take it off until midnight and it STILL looked good. I didn't have to reapply it at all. I suppose that if you put your hands on your eyes and rubbed them, it might smear, but that would be the case for any eyeshadow. I was really pleased with this product.

Question
The colouring
I have dark green/ sometimes bluish eyes, dark red hair and light (not quite fair) skin. Will this be too much, or drown out my eyes?

Honestly, it will probably do anything but drown out your eye color. I have fair-medium skin, brown hair and blue-ish green eyes and it makes mine pop! I said this in my review, but it's really worth buying the kit because not only do you get 3 cool colors that you can mix with other stuff, but you also get an awesome brush that you can shade, line, highlight, smudge and shadow with. Doing the "rocker" eye is cool, but don't feel limited to just that look. Use some of your other favorite eyeshadows with what you get in this kit, and create something that works for you.
